Lucky Shots Casino has been a staple site of entertainment for Torn City's residents since its opening. Whether visiting to try their luck on the craps table or to play a game of poker, something about the casino has been drawing visitors back time and again.
Having renovated much of the city, the mayor turned his attention to the seedy Red Light District. At the heart of which, the Lucky Shots Casino stands looming over the Torn Super Store and the Points market. Before its new face lift, Torn's casino was in a sorry state. It had rusty slot machines, simple Keno tables and an unfriendly atmosphere that welcomed only the roughest crowds in the city. Now, after its big unveiling, it boasts shiny new slot machines, plush Keno tables, two brand new lotteries (in addition to the weekly lottery of old), improved roulette tables plus many other updated features. The layout of the casino, like so many buildings in Torn, has been improved so that it is more inviting for citizens, regardless of their background. Now, with the development of Torn's multi-faith church (in the North of the city,) even some of those with religious qualms about gambling will be able to rest at ease by donating a percentage of their winnings directly to the church and by praying for forgiveness for their sins. With so many new features and a few more chances to win, who could resist 'having a dabble' and trying to get rich quick?
It's not just the casino that has had a face lift, either. Other hot-spots in the red light district include the racetrack and the dump. Both of which have been improved for those who wish to frequent them. The racetrack has new features which mean those who are racing in or viewing a race can follow the adrenaline fueled action more closely than before, seeing each car turn, overtake each other and even crash along the way. The dump is still a dump but it's become a prettier dump, to say the least. The downtrodden of Torn have never had it so good, searching through their neighbors' trash hoping to uncover a jewel among the rubbish, now they have a better looking pile of garbage to rummage through.
The Red Light District still has its seedy aspects. Sure, the casino looks fabulous, the racetrack is more exciting, the dump smells better than it did before, but the darker areas remain. The meeting spot where some of Torn's more sinister residents roam, offering money for missions and Tim the loan shark's lair to name but two of the places that upstanding citizens would be forgiven for avoiding. All in all, though, the city is heading in the right direction. And we have the venerable Sandworth Loamington to thank for that. God bless her.
