Black Friday Bombs!

IIIlusionist [253384]
Seeing as how there have been three separate threads for each dirty bomb that has been dropped, I thought "...why not get all of the information into a single location and save you the time sprawling through the endless pages of 'who dropped the dirty bomb?' or 'Evil-duck is going to destroy the world.'"

We have nicknamed the first dirty bomb "Noob Bomb." The dirty bomb was dropped by that "well known" player krilitor1 [1608510] - you might have caught him during one of his 26 logins. However, disregarding the low, and very unlikely probability that any one player can gather $15,000,000,000 together in order to make (or buy) a dirty bomb in barely one hour and seven minutes, krilitor1 is most likely a multi-account. After all, who needs the merit and pride that comes with dropping a many-billion-dollar bomb - much better to hide behind a false account and remain anonymous is it not? The bomb was dropped on JFK, a well known faction.

The faction has been severely hit by a radioactive bomb activated by krilitor1! 28,854 respect was lost.

However, the bomb didn't seem to have the effect it probably was intended to have:

"The fact [that] we still invoke so much fear in people that someone had to use a multi- to launch the bomb is the biggest compliment in the world." -- Z_junior [247674], Leader of JFK

Dirty bombs number two and three were dropped by the well-known bomb enthusiast Mischi3vo [88038]. The action would be more of a surprise if he hadn't dropped one since he has already dropped three on Subversive Alliance. The facts: Mischi3vo sent a blank application to Forged Though War (FTW), which was subsequently declined. Mischi3vo created a faction (Eris 1.0) and declared on FTW, proceeding to drop two dirty bombs on FTW.

The faction has been severely hit by a radioactive bomb activated by Mischi3vo! 39,922 respect was lost.

The faction has been severely hit by a radioactive bomb activated by Mischi3vo! 26,321 respect was lost.

Dirty bomb number four - just when you think that these guys must have burned through all of their money, Milk and Cookies get in on the action - or rather, get on the receiving end of some radioactive action.

The faction has been severely hit by a radioactive bomb activated by Mischi3vo! 45,735 respect was lost.

Although Milk and Cookies members seemed to be overjoyed that they were handed an increased chance of mutating into something unnatural (or more unnatural than they are now), a 46,000 respect drop is a lot of effort washed down the drain.

"For M&C, it seemed the right decision - gotta have warm cookies with your milk." -- Mischi3vo.

The destruction continued with dirty bomb number five. Ironically, "Number Five" was used on (and destroyed) the faction Extinct. Once again, Mischi3vo was the bomber. Extinct, as a faction, was very small (between 7-10 members), had no specials, possessed around 250 respect and was nearly penniless, which makes the bomber's reasons for picking this faction mystifying.

Perhaps Mischi3vo just wanted to destroy a faction, regardless of the faction's notoriety.

Citizens must be thinking "...what sort of monster drops eight dirty bombs and leaves our city in ruins?" Well, Mischi3vo isn't all that bad - in fact he is probably more generous than most in the entire City of Torn. After blasting legalkid's [945786] faction to smithereens, he was kind enough to send legalkid some items to cover the damage caused. One banana phone, one parachute, two bunches of balloons (vintage 2005), three neumune tablets and a ranch.

Kind of wish YOU got a bit of the radioactive happy-happy?

"I never thought I'd say this, but it was an honor being nuked by him!" -- legalkid, ex-leader of Extinct.

Taking everything into account, people appear to enjoy being targeted by a highly destructive radioactive bomb - and Mischi3vo's name is even more likely to be remember for many years to come.

But where does the money come from? Few understand where the cash for one or two dirty bombs comes from, but for eight dirty bombs (approximately 150,000,000,000)? The money may have come from the old stock market, manipulation of the current stock market (WLT or TCHS) or gambling (just to name a few possible sources).

Despite what anyone says, when the respect loss is between 20,000 and 65,000, that loss is a huge blow for any faction. One thing that we learned from these bombings, though, is that dirty bombs potentially take a certain percentage of respect away from the faction, as observed by the loss of respect driven by the two bombs dropped on FTW. A percentage loss, however is only based in observation - not in fact.

The debate will continue as to whether dirty bombs are a waste of money or a devastating....well...bomb. In the meantime, for more information on the bombs that have been dropped, or detonated, visit the general forums.
