7-way War

Today let's talk about faction wars. The most common mode of warring in Torn today is a one on one battle between two factions. A faction might fight multiple wars at once, but each against a single opposing force. On a rare occasion, however, multiple factions agree to all fight each other at the same time in one big fat war. The most grand and glorious war occurs when seven factions meet at once - the 7-way war.

A 7-way war is no small feat to organize. Under the current warring system, each war base has a 500 member cap. Typically, this limits the larger factions (averaging 75 members) from warring with each other at the same time.

Besides the most recent one, the last 7-way war took place in December 2013 and was between 39th Street Killers, Evolution, JFK, HT, Mercs Inc, PT-Family and Subversive Alliance. The terms were kept simple:

- All wars should be ranked wars
- Members over 3bil total will use Desert Eagle only.
- Rosters locked after the war begins.
- Everything not specified above (flying, reviving, self-hosping, etc) is allowed.

This 7-way war included many of the top 10 factions at the time. According to witness reports, it ended as followed (may not be 100% accurate):

- JFK = Won all wars
- SA beat HT, PT, 39th, (Merc)
- Mercs Inc beat HT, PT, 39th, (Evo)
- Evolution beat HT, PT, 39th, (SA)
- 39th beat HT, PT
- PT beat HT
- HT lost all

HT were just coming out of a long period of inactivity and for a moment everyone thought this war would be their return. However, it proved to be the opposite, and HT sunk to a crushing defeat on all fronts.

Recently, another 7 Way War got underway on 13 March 2015 between 39th Street Killers, Destructive Anomaly, Forged Through War, Just Fer A**h**es,, PT-Family, Subversive Alliance 2 and The UnLeashed Sykoz. The terms were as follows:

- Guests allowed up to 12,5bil in stats (for all guests combined)

- All guest must be in before kickoff time.
- Locked rosters (no new members or kickings)
- Direct claim on victory
- All wars will be ranked

The results were as follows:
- FTW = Won all wars
- PT beat 39th, DA, JFA, SA2
- DA beat 39th, JFA, SA2, TuS
- JFA beat 39th, SA2, TuS
- TuS beat PT, 39th, SA2
- SA2 lost all (NAP 39th)
- 39th lost all (NAP SA)

In any multi-way war, strategic alliances are going to emerge - that is an inevitability . FTW allied with SA2 while PT, JFA and TuS worked together. Seemingly, FTW and SA2 agreed to focus on each other after other wars had been won or lost. PT, JFA and TuS aimed to clear one war as quickly as possible, and therefore permitted TuS to beat PT, PT to beat JFA and JFA to beat TuS respectively. Mid-way through the war TuS and DA agreed to a truce due to the battle between TuS vs 39th.

Speculatively, events leading up to the 7-way war could have influenced some of the results. SA2 was hit by a dirty bomb a week before the war was due to start and were still suffering from reduced stats caused by radiation poisoning. Stoically, SA2 remained committed to the war despite this disadvantage. Originally, MMCP were set to take part, however, a number of federal jail sentences dished out to their members for multiple accounts meant they had to withdraw - and JFA was more than willing to step up.

Although not quite finishing at the top after the 4 days of warring, TuS benefited greatly from this war. Compared to other factions, TuS amassed a great deal of respect from this event:

- TuS = 79,194
- DA = 46,441
- FTW = 38,967
- PT-Family = 38,014
- JFA = 34,704
- 39th = 22,334
- SA2 = 14,423
