Faction Bio - PT-Family

PT has been one of the strongest factions around since the very start of factions, and this has not changed much to this day.

We will start with how PT gained independence. PT is short for Portugal and was created in 2005 by Badwolf [5736]. At the beginning of the year 2005, Badwolf joined a faction called The Family which was headed by Duke and Therah. By the time he was level 8 he co-led The Family 2, a sub faction of The Family. PT started as a Portuguese only faction, and Badwolf started recruiting whilst at The Family 2. He recruited Portuguese players from another game; the same one 201 members of HT came from (see HT article). Due to the amount of players he was able to recruit, he decided to create his own faction. Borrowing $700,000 from Duke, a hell of a lot of money in those days, he created the PT-Family which had the fifteen strongest Portuguese players. The loan to Duke was repaid and PT-Family gained Independence.

So upon gaining independence, it was time for PT-Family to recruit and grow. Being, at the time, a Portuguese only faction they attracted many Portuguese players. As a result, many PT-Family players invited family members to join the game and faction. However, similarly to HT, their recruitment base soon dwindled and they opened their doors to everyone. PT-Family is now now a faction full of different cultures and backgrounds.

PT-Family has three sub factions at the moment: Iron-Hearts, OldSchool and Penguins. However, they used to have a family of 16 sub factions. The main eight where initially named as PT 1-8. This changed and each faction came up with their own names; Penguins (PT-P), IronHearts (PT-IH), OldSchool (PT-OS), Trainers (PT-TN), CriminalSquad (PT-CS), SpecialOne (PT-SO), Comandos (PT-CM), Anjos da Morte (PT-AM), Underground (PT-UN), Saco Azul (PT-SA), Masters (PT-MT), School One (PT-SO2), Secret One (PT-SO3), Trinity (PT-TR), DragonSquad (PT-DS).

PT-Family does not have any major feuds or enemies, but they do have a strong connection with the faction HT. As PT-Family were growing they loaned money to non-PT members to start their own factions. One faction created by one of these borrowers went on to create the faction known as HT. Thats right, the same HT that dominated the faction scene for years, the same HT that reached 100,000 respect first, and this is why HT and PT have/had a good friendship.

One of the biggest wars PT-Family were involved in was against Secret Service, Sun and Engineered plague. One of the most interesting war was the PT-Family, Lunatics, Brotherhood Of Sega (BOS) vs SUN, BH, CORE, 39th, Crystal Dragons, Secret Service. At the time SUN were one of the strongest faction in Torn. Initially, PT-Family were approached by BOS and BH to take down SUN, but the war escalated and BH double crossed PT-Family and started fighting for the other side, with SUN. During the war, a bug meant that PT-Family could not lose respect against SUN, and after some negotiating, a fee of Flowers and bon bons was agreed, and the war was ended.

This is a faction has played an important role in Torn's history. PT-Family continues as one of the strongest factions, and one of the few that has remained intact over the many years of Torn with a great history to reflect their experience.
