Memento Mori - an object kept as a reminder of the inevitability of death, such as a skull.
Sounds like a nice place does it not? A gloomy place filled with rotting carcases and crushed skulls of unfortunate by-passers, or a bunch of night people holding skulls waiting for their inevitable doom to come claim them comes to mind.
However, it turns out Memento Mori is just a name chosen for our next faction bio, who happen to be the complete opposite to the above description...well mostly.
Memento Mori was created in 2009. It was bought by Tascon [209070] from Scampi [872103], along with UnFairlane [450963] and whiterose [365252]. The faction was initially named The Little House on the Prairie, and was to be a place of peace and tranquillity where Tascon and his close friends could relax and build on their stats. However, complaints from members that the name sounded to "wimpy" led to them changing the name to Memento Mori.
Memento Mori only started to war and chain when peaceful status for factions was removed. At the start of their warring days they had what they called a chain master, who would watch over and nurse them too 100 hits. This would basically be one or two members setting a time to chain and keeping the chain alive while people came online and made hits. Not the most effective way of chaining, as some chains took up to five hours to reach 100 hits.
Memento Mori are another faction that don't feature in the hall of fame, but have the potential to reach it. However, Memento Mori have decided that they don't want to make their way to HoF, but are content, and find it enjoyable, to surprise some of the larger factions that would declare on them as fillers.
Their main rivals include Balkan, T.A.G and Little Stompers. One war that stood out was with JFA. They had organised a termed war with JFA but had to pull out due to a long chain attempt that went on longer than they had anticipated. JFA were all pumped and prepared for the war, and so declared anyway, and in doing so ending the friendship with MM, and perhaps kindling a little rivalry.
Now a day Memento Mori seem to making bigger strides forwards in the rankings, chaining skill and as a faction as a whole - A faction to keep an eye on for sure.
