I often find myself clicking away in the city, checking on how the markets, stocks and other parts of Torn are doing. Most days go the same, I'll find a sheep plushie, browse things I can't afford...I'm living the dream!
So you can imagine my surprise when I decide to click, hopefully, on the missions link in an attempt to spice up my daily Torn routine. I was greeted with something I have never seen before.

Yep...stop drooling; missions have appeared on the horizon! Don't get overexcited yet though, they have just entered the testing phase. But based on what this reporter has seen so far, everything looks rather impressive.
There is limited information at the moment as it is just in the testing phase and the missions available are limited, probably to ensure mission mechanics are functioning as expected. However, here are some of my initial thoughts based on the testing I have done so far.
As mentioned before, there will be a number of mission agents that will dish out contracts for players to complete. So far we have old man George, Duke and, taking us back to the good old days, Anonymous seems set to be back in business.
How many more agents and who they will be is yet to be discovered. But there is plenty of scope to add new agents and further missions so hopefully this will be something that players can invest some serious time and effort into.

Once you pick an agent and accept a contract you set off to complete the stated objective. Initially, contracts will be simple tasks such as roughing up players with a particular weapon, but this can lead to unlocking more complex missions and could introduce some unique features.
It appears that missions will also include interacting with other players. Whether these interactions will be attacking, messaging, trading, placing a bounty, flirting or stalking...Only time will tell!
After completing a mission you will receive your reward:

I'm not quite sure what I will do with all the money. However, I wouldn't worry about the rewards being a fairly low amount, because players will also receive mission credits to spend on some cool rewards.

On a serious note, rewards are not finalized and the items in the above image are just being used for testing purposes. As players complete more missions they will gain better standing with the agent. Better standing will mean harder missions and harder missions will lead to greater rewards. Some rewards could potentially have timers on them, meaning that players will only have a limited time to purchase rewards before they are replaced with different ones. This could be an interesting feature as the cost of items may vary. That could present players with a choice between purchasing the reward at a particular price or hoping that the price drops. Of course this brings with it the risk of the item vanishing and the player being forced to wait an undetermined amount of time for the item to reappear.
This is just a quick snap shot of where BETA testing is at the moment and a lot could change, but it might be a good idea to start loading up your weapons!
