Hold on....updates are coming!

As updates continue to roll out following the RESPO update, developers have given players many hints as to what to expect in the near, and not so near, future. This is a small coverage of the ongoing developments on potential upcoming updates. Be warned, these are not final versions and have by no means been finalized.

First up, we have the introduction of specials ammunition and attachments for weapons. Special ammunition will most likely provide some benefit depending on the type of ammunition used on a weapon. Some of the ammunition that will be available is already visible in the Ammo Locker section.

Attachments are also on the list of updates. There will be a variety of attachments that will add a bonus to accuracy, stealth, ammo capacity, magazines and more aspects of attacking.

As demonstrated in the above image, there will be a number tiers/levels of attachments. The higher the upgrade level, the higher the benefit and harder the attachment will be to obtain. There are still many questions left unanswered with regards to this update: Will attachments be tradeable? If they will be, what will be the impact on our economy? Will the attachments degrade over time? Will they be detachable or removable? Making them a permanent attachment to a weapon would make players really think about what weapons they will upgrade, possibly saving the rarer attachments for their best weapons.

Another highly anticipated update is the new Mission system. Missions are still a dark area; however, it is likely that mission rewards will be in the form of tokens that players will be able to spend on items, nerve etc. Initial discussions suggest that attachments will be purchasable with reward tokens obtained though the completion of missions. Keep an eye on the paper for an update on missions.

Next up, and probably the most anticipated update, is Territory Warring. The specials system will be seeing a big shake up with more in-depth specials for factions to choose from, meaning factions will have to think carefully about how many upgrades they would like in a particular specials branch. Respect will remain the basic faction currency and specials will be obtained by assigning respect to specials of the factions choosing. Certain upgrades, as shown below, will require factions to complete challenges in order to unlock upgrades before assigning respect to them.

With these updates, there is a number of changes to look forward to. The biggest hurdle has been the time requirement for development and implementation. Similarly to the Company Update, the Faction Update will be done over a period of 6-12 weeks, with the removal of the old faction system/code and bringing in the new faction update bit by bit. Things players can expect to be added over the update period will include: new territory map, ranking system, specials branches, re-crediting of respect, removal of current chaining system and introducing a new style of chaining.

It is sure to be a strange few months when the updates start rolling out as tweaks are made and we all get used to this new era of factions.
