Tornography - Boxcar182's Story

Torn's prison system is notoriously one of the world's least secure correctional facilities, and those few who have never experienced the delight in breaking free of its confines will at least know someone else who has. Yet despite the relatively short prison terms doled out to its inmates there are some who remain committed to helping convicts free themselves from the clutches of justice.

Once such person is Boxcar182. At the time of writing he is Torn's most prolific jail-breaker with a total of 50,934 busts as of June 27th 2016. In an effort to find out why the prospect of freeing convicted criminals is so tempting the Torn City Times sat down with Boxcar182 to find out why, for the first in a new series of interviews with Torn's most notable citizens.

TCT: "Hello Boxcar182. Thanks for agreeing to be interviewed. You are responsible for the most jail breakouts in Torn. Can you tell us why you are doing this?"
Boxcar182: "I didn't exactly have a reason or purpose when I started. A few years ago there was the idea that busting was the best way to get experience, and I didn't like attacking, so I started busting people, and I never stopped or looked back. Note to new players - busts using nerve is very recent. Previously you would use energy."

TCT: "What's the longest you've ever spent in jail yourself?"
Boxcar182: "I got jailed after a Political Assassination OC. For some reason I didn't have a lawyer card and all attempts to bust me failed. It took me maybe 30 minutes since I had no money in hand and couldn't access my vault. In the first years busting was not very popular and players would actually pay for busting them out of jail. I remember sometimes spending around one hour before someone busted me."

So as you can see, far from being ashamed of his felonious actions Boxcar182 is actively advising newcomers to Torn on how best to approach this most heinous of crimes, and even went on to mention some of his most high profile busts. Our reporter was left shocked by such audacity, but sadly it seems inebriating substances play a large part in the suppression of his guilt.

TCT: "Describe a typical day in Torn for you."
Boxcar182: "Throughout the day I'll refill Energy and use booze to boost nerve. Sometimes I go to the stock market and check if there's any stock worth investing on."

TCT: "Why do you find it so easy to break people out of prison? Are the guards really that stupid?"
Boxcar182: "It's not actually that easy! I've spent 11 years perfecting my craft!"

TCT: "Is there anyone you wouldn't break out of jail?"
Boxcar182: "Yes! Child murderers plus robbers, thieves, people who do not respect queues, people who talk loud just to draw attention, rude people."

TCT: "Do you ever feel guilty about letting so many known criminals out onto Torn's streets?"
Boxcar182: "Not really, I'm actually responsible from a few thousand crimes and a couple hundred Political Assassinations so I can't judge anyone. Ultimately, I hope I'm enabling them to commit crimes in Torn so they don't commit them in real life."

It was at this point that due to the obvious insanity of Boxcar182 our Torn City Times reporter felt it was time to curtail the interview. This poor wretch at first seemed highly cognitive and fully aware of his crimes, yet by the end of our meeting here he was, attempting to rationalise his deplorable actions based on the idea that Torn was not "real life" - a sorry state of affairs indeed.

Clearly the years of alcoholic abuse and villainous association have rendered Boxcar182's mind into nothing more than mush, but what excuses will the city's other jail-breakers give for their actions? The notorious Jenova is hot on the heels of Boxcar182's bust total, with I-Am-Biker-Babe following not far behind - the two ladies doing much to dispel the myth that breakouts are purely a man's game. It seems that the city's jail-breakers are free to do as they please, unhindered as they are by law enforcement. So is vigilante justice the answer? In this reporter's humble opinion...yes, yes it is.
