Who Will Own The Financial District

sugarvalves [1963573] — It has been over two and a half months since Torn's factions began to advance towards the heart of the city centre. Tomorrow, around 13.00 TCT their march will be over. The factions will control every sector of Torn City, and a new era will surely begin. The only question now is which factions will come to hold our city's most prized properties. Two weeks ago we analysed the situation as factions prepared for the release of Sector 2, with the conclusion being that those fighting for the western side of the city would stand a greater chance of making it towards the Financial District when Sector 1 was released. We shall find out of such an assertion was correct when the final 322 territories are opened up tomorrow, at which point the number of conquerable territories for each faction increases to fifteen. Some may think that this increase will help reduce the total number of unoccupied territories in the city; a number which currently stands at 48.8%. B...

Tornography: Hopslam

sugarvalves [1963573] — I'd like to begin this Tornography by thanking Hopslam for the massive amount of information he has provided me with. This is a man whose knowledge of bazaar trading is so in-depth that the word count for his responses topped 8,000 words. If there's anything Hopslam doesn't know about selling in Torn, it isn't worth knowing. In case you aren't aware, Hopslam is one of Torn City's most successful bazaar owners - and there is a case for him being the outright best. His bazaar has not achieved the most sales, though, since that honour goes to dunmugmeh with over 19million transactions at the time of writing. And nor has Hopslam's bazaar earned the highest amount of profit since his $1.23trillion puts him third behind Bezee and q-_-p . (n.b. this ignores 1st place Champion , whose $2.5trillion record was achieved unscrupulously) (n.b.b. please do not complain that Champion is in this article. It seems he gets everywhere these days, ...

Crime Ring Captured

IIIlusionist [253384] — Last month a gang of 77 players were placed in federal jail, a place from which there is no return (ba dum tss!), after being accused by the authorities of Real Money Trading. This mass jailing was brought to the public's attention by Pascal who took to the forums in a bid to find out further information. Citizen-led investigations revealed that many of the culprits hailed from several notable factions and businesses, with members of REDACTED, REDACTED and REDACTED joined by employees from REDACTED, REDACTED and REDACTED being involved in this scandalous criminal enterprise. As you can see, the Torn City Times is unable to publish the names of the factions involved due to the ongoing nature of the case. The scourge of Real Money Trading is something which threatens the stability and integrity of the Torn City economy. RMT is when players sell Torn City Dollars for external currencies such as dollars, pounds or in this case Malaysian Ringgits. RMT is wide-...

Sector 2's Key Fights and Factions

sugarvalves [1963573] — The public has been urged to avoid several areas of Sector 2 over the coming days, with Torn City Council predicting an extended period of violence as factions continue their bloody march towards the city centre. On the 11th of April, it is expected that the likes of 39th Street Killers , Forged Through War , Milk and Cookies et al. will push on from their positions on the edge of Sector 3 to claim territory further inwards. As they do so, the factions are expected to push beyond the first line of Sector 2 property, with far greater rewards to be found deep inside the newly released territory. But these rewards are not strictly respect-based - at least not in the short term - because within Sector 2 factions will find two specific types of territory; those which provide a high amount of respect, and those which offer the best chance of acquiring premium Sector 1 territory in two weeks' time. This insight helps us to ident...

Tornography: Z_Junior

sugarvalves [1963573] — Z_Junior is one of the longest serving citizens of Torn City, and he may be its sixth strongest too. He was the 18th person to hit Level 100, one of only 25 people to currently hold the rank of 26 Invincible, and at the time of writing, he stands as the city's second-richest man in the city with a networth of over $636billion Torn City Dollars. But Z_Junior's influence extends far beyond his impressive personal stats, because as the leader of JFK - presently Torn's most dominant faction - he commands far more respect than many other heavyweights in the city. In fact, considering his wealth, personal strength, faction leadership and his position on the player committee, a case could be made for Z_Junior being Torn's most influential player outright. And this is something his number one fan would certainly agree with. "Well sugartits the truth is, Z_junior (or 'Junia' to his close friends), is clearly the best player in the game. J...
