It has been over two and a half months since Torn's factions began to advance towards the heart of the city centre. Tomorrow, around 13.00 TCT their march will be over. The factions will control every sector of Torn City, and a new era will surely begin.
The only question now is which factions will come to hold our city's most prized properties. Two weeks ago we analysed the situation as factions prepared for the release of Sector 2, with the conclusion being that those fighting for the western side of the city would stand a greater chance of making it towards the Financial District when Sector 1 was released.
We shall find out of such an assertion was correct when the final 322 territories are opened up tomorrow, at which point the number of conquerable territories for each faction increases to fifteen. Some may think that this increase will help reduce the total number of unoccupied territories in the city; a number which currently stands at 48.8%. But those people would be wrong, since there are just 34 factions who are using up their full territorial allocation at the time of writing.
35.9% of Sector 2 territory is currently unclaimed, and I see this number increasing massively once the major factions make their move towards Sector 1's prime real estate. Much of this vacated territory will be found in the north and east of the city since these areas also contain large chunks of mainland Section 1 land - unlike the western part of the city, which barely has any.
So who are we likely to see contesting Sector 1's major areas of interest? Well, in my report a fortnight ago the west's most formidable clans were deemed to be the likes of Subversive Alliance and JFK, and so it has proved. Subversive Alliance (13 blocks, 1542 respect) is in pole position to take the western bridge since they currently occupy UPG's border territory FBF. SA holds a large chunk of Sector 2 territory on the approach to the bridge, but this area is surrounded by the possessions of JFK 2.1 (13 blocks, 1347 respect) to the north and One Punch (13 blocks, 1368 respect) to the east - both of whom may look to snap up SA's holdings should they commit themselves fully to the conquest of the Isle of Orclosure.

The only threat to Subversive Alliance's possession of the bridge comes in the form of Forged Through War (13 blocks, 1317 respect), who have snaked their way up along the coast to within spitting distance of UPG. The 42 rated EBF territory is all that separates FTW from the bridge, but we cannot be sure if they intend to take it or not. FTW leaders BFM and Janet might have decided to show deference to Subversive Alliance by leaving a buffer zone between them, or they may choose to take this territory and strike at the bridge when SA are busy contesting territories in the financial district.
Outside of territories, another threat to Subversive Alliance may come in the form of Destructive Anomaly, whose recent declaration of war could have a massive impact on Torn City's eventual territorial landscape. Keen to capitalise on this will be Subversive Alliance's deadly rivals JFK (13 blocks, 1565 respect). JFK currently holds a block of territory of substantial value, but they have seen their united front with JFK 2.1 carved open over the past fortnight, with Z_Junior's men separated from their affiliate faction by Unrelenting (13 blocks, 1237 respect).
Over the coming weeks, Unrelenting may be looking to unite with their own affiliate Relentless (13 blocks, 1319 respect), who themselves have moved west since last we saw them. Relentless occupied territory to the east of the prison when our previous territories article went to print, but they have now pushed inwards and prevented Itsi Bitsi Bikini (13 blocks, 1329 respect) from gaining territory close to Sector 1's border.

Will Unrelenting and Relentless unite their territory, or are they hedging their bets and going for two chunks of land in the hopes of landing one of them? Either way, they face formidable foes in every direction, with JFK and JFK 2.1 surrounding their western holdings, and the likes of 39th Street Killers (13 blocks, 1284 respect) and JUX HQ (10 blocks, 919 respect) looming in close proximity on the border to Sector 1.
As we mentioned earlier, Sector 1 land is in short supply in the west, so those who fail to reach the financial district will have to make do with what is on offer around the City Centre if they wish to acquire any. This means that we should see a spectacular scramble for the sole 225 value territory in this area, XVE, which sits between the Staff Offices, Visitor Centre and Committee building.
Elsewhere, factions will duke it out for just two 197 value territories in TEF and WEF, and a further six 167 value territories in UEF, NEF, VEF, JDF, XEF and ZEF; all of which surround the Torn City Hall. If anyone could somehow take all eight they would rake in 1621 in respect from these territories alone.
As we move further south towards the eastern bridge, the prospects for prime territory look even slimmer than they do to the north. 197 rated CFF, WFF and VDF are all separated by very large territories, but it is not inconceivable that one faction could hold all three. If they did, they would also likely be in possession of 150 rated QFF and VZE, as well as 131 rated GFF, which would give you a total of 1022 - no small potatoes, but hardly comparable to the rewards to be found elsewhere.

The aforementioned Itsi Bitsi Bikini may also look to slip through the small gap between Relentless and the Prison to make an assault on this territory. But, in doing so, they face further competition from The Box (13 blocks, 1466 respect) who will be looking to take advantage of any mistakes in the ranks of those attired entirely in beachwear.
Milk and Cookies (13 blocks, 1585 respect) look far better placed to make a move on Sector 1's prime eastern blocks, situated as they are to the east of the Hospital in SID, GDF and IDF. However, they'd stand more chance if their affiliate Macaroni and Cheese (12 blocks, 1297 respect) could somehow move past the territory owned by JFB (13 blocks, 1347 respect) and form a solid line on the border of the sector.
Three PT affiliated clans can be found behind this area - PT-Family (11 blocks, 1147 respect), PT-Ironhearts (11 blocks, 1035 respect) and PT-Bravehearts (11 blocks, 1177 respect) - but PT faces a difficult decision in the next few days, as there is a lot of decent, unoccupied territory in the region around them. Do they face off against JFA (13 blocks, 1523 respect) and M&C in an attempt to push into Sector 1, or do they wait for the increased sector allowance and hoover up the many 90 rated territories nestled between the three PT factions?
PT must choose wisely, as any mistakes will undoubtedly be punished by the factions to their rear, with Wolf Pack (13 blocks, 1311 respect), Immortal Droogs (13 blocks, 1203 respect) and DEHT (11 blocks, 1268 respect) all ready to muscle in on any hastily vacated territory.

Further south, it seems that apparent warmongers Destructive Anomaly (13 blocks, 1821 respect) have successfully fought off the attentions of Little Stompers (11 blocks, 1128 respect), who until recently had encircled HenkiePuk's faction alongside JFA. Not only have the stompers moved on, but much of their former territory has now been taken up by DA affiliate Destructive Angels (13 blocks, 1175 respect) whose presence provides a welcome barrier between their prize possessions and JFC (13 blocks, 1661 respect).
The stompers have now moved westwards along the coast, where they face a four-way fight with JFA, JFB and Milk and Cookies if they wish to expand towards the eastern bridge. Should any of these factions reach the Financial District on the other side, then their focus will surely be on the 197 value territories of OTC, HSC and TTC which lie to the south of MSG INC. These blocks, when combined with nearby territories could lead to a daily respect value of over 1,500.
Alternatively, one faction may decide to try and take the area to the west of the Donator House, since this region not only offers five 197 blocks, but it also connects neatly to several high value territories to the south - including one of just three 225 properties in the entire city. This block of ten territories, connected by 141 valued TPG, would net its owner 1914 in daily respect - more than any one faction presently earns.
As for the west side of the island, one could easily link the bridge to the strip of high-value properties there for a 2591 haul, and with only cheap coastal regions behind you, this would be relatively easy to defend. Subversive Alliance will almost certainly make their presence known on the Isle of Orclosure, and I can see them taking the area around the Bank and Stock Exchange with ease. But if JFK were to move in, it would be interesting to see if Midknight's men could defend their property.
The rest of the island should be able to accommodate three major factions at most - four if they're willing to get chummy - and I anticipate that Milk and Cookies, JFA and JFB will all make an attempt to hold their ground here. Little Stompers may also push for the island, but it seems unlikely they'll be able to resist if the big boys come knocking.

This is the problem that ambitious factions face, for if you do push too far and lose your territory entirely, where do you go from there? There is a large amount of unoccupied territory to retreat to, but much of this is either of little value or it is already carved up like so much Christmas ham. After nearly three months of consistent movement towards the city centre, we may now see a different pattern emerge as factions begin to entrench themselves in the city's highest value territories. Defensive tactics may be adopted, and tactical blocking has already started to occur; with this strategy partly to blame for the number of low-value territories which remain unoccupied.
How the territorial system will unfold over the next few weeks shall be interesting to say the least. But one thing is for certain; that the release of Torn City's final sector is merely the beginning of a long and arduous fight.
