Thirteen Detective Agencies acquire Three-Star status. Nearly 200 arrested over first 18 hours. Kapten_Klitoris claims highest reward so far.
At 18:13 pm on the 15th of April, Nutcase performed the first Detective's Arrest in Torn City history, apprehending the notorious criminal Guardiangirl for a reward of $922,681. Nutcase, who is the director of Crime Stoppers, inflicted a sentence of four hours and twenty-two minutes upon his prisoner, and in doing so began a brand new era for justice in Torn City.

"Wow I didn't know I was the first person to make an arrest, I know I was on it pretty early as I was excited to use the new special. GuardianGirl was just a person I added to my arrest list after watching her get busted earlier in the week for serious crimes. Checking her criminal history on her profile I just thought it would have been a potential target and boom, scored a 1m award." - Nutcase

I reached out to GuardianGirl for comment on her recent incarceration. Despite being convicted for an endless list of crimes including car thefts, arsons, counterfeiting, cybercrimes, arms trafficking and even kidnapping our beloved mayor, she still seemed perturbed at the unfair nature of her arrest, describing herself as being like vodka, which only goes bad once it is opened.

"There's just no way to be a humble innocent girl in this city! Seems like when there aren't enough criminals, the government makes them declaring so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for honest and hardworking people to live without breaking laws! If we are going to be all sincere, who has never thought about bombing the town hall or shooting down the president!" - GuardianGirl

Nutcase made the first arrest within minutes of his company gaining three-star status, swiftly followed by Kapten_Klitoris and his arrest of Topolino for a reward of $692,124. It was around 18:00 pm that the first Detective Companies managed to reach three stars, with thirteen doing so at the exact same time. As of lunchtime today there have been a total of 178 arrests made, with the aforementioned Mr Klitoris receiving the largest reward of $3,233,116 thanks to his successful capture of SSB. As you might expect, SSB was also given the longest sentence, with a penalty of 14 hours and 23 minutes imprisonment handed down to this errant criminal swine.

Kapten_Klitoris also has the highest number of arrests and is the highest earning Detective in the city at present, with his 29 arrests resulting in a haul of $16,023,250 - not that you'd know, he's been so quiet about it. The Kapten looks set to increase his lead at the top of the detective's leaderboard having requested targets via the forums, and while he admits the financial returns aren't great, he does find it hilarious to jail people.

"I touched you with the finger of love, for I was with you the moment you stepped out of bed, for the journey I've prepared for you will leave you abundantly blessed, citizens of Torn." - Kapten_Klitoris

Despite his impressive earnings, the Kapten does not hold the record for the best average reward. That particular honour goes to Garfthegreat thanks to his seven arrests and $7,338,430 in rewards, which results in an average of $1,048,347 per arrest. (Note, Kavs holds a higher average of $1,285,726, but this was his sole arrest, so he doesn't count). The total rewards earned currently stands at $80,392,281, and that means Detectives are taking an average of $451,642 per arrest.

The top ten detectives by order of earnings are as follows*:

10th - Vlad_The_Impler - 5 - $1,846,224

9th - Nutcase - 6 - $2,643,065

8th - TechDirec - 11 - $2,975,934

3rd - garfthegreat - 7 - $7,338,430

2nd - Wazzap - 12 - $10,048,966

1st - Kapten_Klitoris - 29 - $16,023,250

*Figures correct as of 13:49 pm today

The rewards available to Detectives should increase as time goes on as more people reach the minimum threshold for an arrest and the Detective Agencies begin to unlock the ten-star Most Wanted special. The value of a criminal may also increase once Crimes 2.0 arrives, but for the time being there are still plenty of arrestable citizens waiting to be apprehended for their reward. One citizen, in particular, should prove rather lucrative for whoever finds him/her, as the highest reward still yet unclaimed currently stands at a deliciously tempting $5,577,383

I wonder who that could be?
