The Untouchables Fight Back!

Hcom3 [2003693]
In a companion piece to our earlier investigation into the collapse of The Untouchables, Hcom3 interviews some of the key players on Kingstown's side of the story.
On the 9th of May, I wrote an article about how the Untouchables bank was emptied. Shortly after its publication Hydra, a member of UNT, made a public submission to the newspaper stating that the facts contained within my report were wrong, and he wanted to correct them.

To summarise, it was my understanding that the Untouchables' trouble began when Kingstown refused to talk to Trotsky over a script issue. In response, Trotsky stole some cash and items, and the faction fell to bits as a result. But as is often the case, the truth is nowhere near that simple. There are two sides to every story, so in the interest of balance, I have interviewed those who dispute my previous report; Badzena, Hydra and aldous_snow.

According to these individuals, the trouble all started with faction communications. Trotsky was sending out nonsensical newsletters, lots of them, and Kingstown asked him to cut back.

Trotsky ignored his request. It was at this point that Kingstown then asked Trotsky to test out a script to monitor Xanax use. Trotsky tried, but it did not work, assuming it was because he was not the leader. This led to him asking Kingstown for his API key, which resulted in the following conversation:

Kingstown: Uhm no lol. I do not give that out to anyone
Trotsky: I can't do anything with it dude
Trotsky: it's just output...
Trotsky: and you can reset it in 30 seconds.
Trotsky: once I've seen if it changes the outputs
Kingstown: I'm not sure why you're trying to give my personal info to others.

Trotsky wouldn't let it go, though, and in keeping with his newsletter habits, proceeded to barrage Kingstown with messages.

Having not received the response he wanted, Trotsky then took all of the faction's money, FHC's, Xanax, and other valuable items. Kingstown attempted to reach out to his factionmate, but his offer was rejected. So far, Kingstown doesn't appear to be much of a villain.

However, all that changed when he supposedly refused to give back money which had been loaned to the faction by one of its members. Hermoine, an active trader, stepped in to save Untouchables with a loan of 10b of her own money. What this reporter was previously unaware of is that Kingstown had no idea that this money constituted a loan; he believed it to be a donation.

Kingstown: We'll work hard on a solution and if it gets really ugly I will make a huge personal donation
Hermoine: No you won't have to
Hermoine: I have enough to cover things up for everyone's loss.
Hermoine: just let me know if things really get that bad.

When Hermoine asked for her money back, Kingstown understandably freaked out, as he realised his faction was now in a precarious position. The solution, Kingstown thought, was to liquidate a TV station run by the faction and use the money to refund Hermoine. Unfortunately, this TV station was run by -chris, a good friend of Trotsky, who refused to hand over the company to a man he perceived as having slighted his comrade.

Instead, -chris left the faction and sold the TV station to the system, thus scamming the Untouchables out of a company. With no options available to repay Hermoine, Kingstown had no choice but to stall for time. Unbeknownst to Kingstown, somebody, the co-leader at the time, wanted to leave the faction. Hermoine PMed him, and somebody gave her back everything he could give from the Untouchables' assets - which in recent weeks have proven decidedly less untouchable than their name suggests.
.
Sadly, some of the assets somebody handed over comprised other members' property, but since Hermione was still owed it, somebody decided that this was fair. The deed was done. Trotsky was derided as a villain. The whole affair was exposed in the forums. And sadly, Kingstown, a player of nearly three years, has been inactive for over one month now. And no one, not a single member of Untouchables or the wider community has been in contact with him.
