My my it's getting frosty of late isn't it? Poor Aunty Torn has had the heating on full blast, and yet she still has to wear four layers of thick woolen undergarments to keep the shivers at bay. But having warmed herself up with a steaming cup of opium-infused hot cocoa, Aunty is now ready to answer your questions and queries.

If you're ever blessed with the opportunity to wake up next to Aunty Torn in the morning, let it be known that she likes her eggs scrambled, fried or fertilised; poaching is to be avoided - Nova take note. But the Wolf Pack leader isn't the only faction boss who's known for this kind of behaviour, as last month, an anonymous new player contacted Aunty Torn to express his dismay that the faction he'd just joined was being stripped of its members by a rival outfit. He too was offered the chance to leave for pastures new, but he knew not what to do.
My dilemma, dear Aunty, is that I'm not sure if I should stay or go. Is rewarding a poacher something to be frowned upon? They think they can offer something better than my current faction, and this might be true, but loyalty plays a key role here as well. I've only just joined this faction though, so there has not been any bonding as of yet, and the poaching factor is quite large and has much already in motion as far as goals and organisation.
On the other side, my current leader has been playing Torn so long I could probably call him grandpa, and iot would be nice to grow as a player along with a small growing faction.. And it will be nice to be able to say I was there before member count hit the double digits.. I am torn, Aunty Torn.. What would you do?
Hi,
That's always a tough decision. Poaching is frowned upon but in the end, you have to find a group of people who have similar goals and ambitions as you. Loyalty is important to build trust and a positive reputation but sometimes you have to change your scenery to get further ahead. If you do decide to leave, do it respectfully and without encouraging others to do so as well. Thank the leadership in your current faction for giving you a chance and move forwards.
Good luck!

In Torn City, a good reputation is hard to come by and easy to lose, as even the slightest transgression can see you labelled a scammer, poacher, thief or creep for the rest of your days. Mo-sigma contacted Aunty Torn to ask for advice on behalf of a friend who was suffering due to her prior activities. As ever, Aunty Torn's response was as blunt as a spoon.
Dearest Aunty Torn,
I was talking to a friend of mine. She wants feeling really bummed because word on the street and around town is she is a coward. She went through a rough patch in the casino and needed some cash to pay rent. Instead of going to my man Duke, she took matters differently and started slutting herself to people with "little man syndrome". She allowed herself to get beat to a pulp, often left in the streets but occasionally finding herself waking up in the hospital. And for these troubles, the money to pay the day's rent and a ruined reputation.
What can she do to change the hearts and minds of the population? Will she ever be seen as anything other than a coward? If she leaves town everyone will see her as a deserter. But what can she do?
Hi Mo, Your friend should take lots of drugs, join a strong faction, and kick lots of asses.
Good luck!

When you're as old as Aunty Torn it is wise to try and make new acquaintances as often as you can, since you never know which of your mates will be alive come the end of the week. Friends are important in Torn City, but for new players, finding new chums can be a pretty daunting experience, as Mundeer explains.
Dear Aunty I have been playing this game for a while but I lack friends here. Although I have had a few friends in the past but they are mostly inactive now and those who returned didn't even bother to let me know. Maybe they forgot me. So long story short, can we be friends? Pretty please!!
Hi,
Contributing to forums is a good way to find common points of view with people and gain a positive reputation. You could always find an active faction to join and meet people that way! Aunty Torn doesn't have too many friends... Unless you count the other ladies at Bingo.
Good luck!

Mundeer seems like a nice enough fellow. Why not add him as a friend by clicking right here.

Every so often, an otherwise intelligent Torn citizen will contemplate the idea that leaving our fair city is a good idea. Aunty's research shows this to be untrue, with over 248% of all Torn leavers ending up homeless and turning tricks for cash within three weeks of their departure. However, when someone does make the objectively awful decision to leave Torn, many of their friends often benefit from one final giveaway; but one anonymous reader has decided they just can't wait that long.
I have a friend that said if they ever quit they would give me all their stuff. What's the best way to convince them to quit so I can have all their things?
Hi,
I know Aunty Torn is old, but you ain't getting rid of me yet! Youll have to wait till I die to get my fake gold teeth and tapioca pudding.

Of course, everyone knows the best way to make someone quit is to convince them to scam a famous player, as surely it's only a matter of time before Perplex- leaves Torn City for good.
Anyway, that's all for this edition of Dear Aunty Torn. We'll be back in a couple of weeks with more of your questions and responses from Aunty. If you have a personal problem, a queer quandary or a financial fanny-up you need help with, send all of your questions to the Torn City Times' Tell Your Story page now.
Everyone who has a question published will receive a donator pack by way of a thank you, and if we've forgotten to send our your DP, please give Sugarvalves a poke - he doesn't get much in the way of physical contact these days.
