Is Insurgency crumbling already? Will Chain Reaction be forced to ditch Mentos n Cola as a wall slut? Or have the actions of Subversive Alliance revealed a hidden truth?
Early on Sunday afternoon, just before the ass crack of the evening sun fell down on Torn City, an everyday respect wall chain turned ugly, putting a strain on the recently announced Insurgency Alliance between Subversive Alliance, Relentless, Chain Reaction and Forged Through War.

It was approximately 3:00 PM TCT on Sunday, December 16th, 2018 when the aforementioned incident occurred. Mentos and Cola (MnC) were participating as wall sluts for Chain Reaction's (CR) five-wall chain when out of nowhere Subversive Alliance (SA) decided MnC needed a hug. Shortly after, We Are Rising (WAR) and One Punch (OP) decided a group hug would be best and elected to join in the fun as well.
For those of you new to wall wars, wall slutting is when a faction declares a territory war for the purpose of obtaining the 2x respect bonus for both sides. The attackers have no intention of taking the territory, but it is often the case that one faction will run a chain and have multiple wars opened against them, with outside factions moving on to their walls to achieve even more respect.
Factions will often perform this role in return for financial rewards or the same actions being performed upon their own territories. Basically, the "Wall Slut" is the faction who strips to their underwear and climbs on the wall, only to be brutalized en masse for the respect gains of their partner. However, this situation has become complicated due to the alliances of those involved, and the very real territorial losses suffered during the course of battle.
With sky-high medical cooldowns, an offline leadership team, and a large amount of confusion to deal with, MnC were relieved of their south-western territories in the blink of an eye. Nobody was slutting. These territories were being assaulted by factions who had every intention of taking them for good.
At the time of writing, MnC had thirteen territory blocks in their possession, with YAE, ZAE and KDD under assault from WAR, One Punch and SA respectively. MnC has countered by assaulting AAD held by One Punch, but it remains to be seen if they can survive this three-pronged attack from factions to their North, West and South.

As the battle rages on, many participants from both sides have taken to the forums in true Torn fashion to air their grievances. Most of Torn seems to be enjoying some much-needed popcorn and rum while they watch the show. And while some kept it cool with their booze in hand, others chose to point the finger, blaming CR for the timing of the attack.
Proxima of CR quickly dismissed any attempts to connect the CR chain to the attack by explaining that "We've been each other['s] wall sluts for several chain sessions, and had no intentions in ending that arrangement." This was quickly supported by xMrPink of MnC who stated, "No one from Mentos have commented on it. We know it had nothing to do with you."
While the struggle for MnCs territories continues, and the memes continue to flow, we have to wonder how this incident will affect the relationship between the various members of Insurgency. In attacking CR's chain slut, SA and FTW have made a deliberate choice to weaken the standing of one of their supposed allies.
That being said, CR has elected to continue working with a faction who are now confirmed to be part of JFK's alliance. That seems odd however you slice it. The assault on MnC by Chain Reaction's new friends seems to have left a sour taste in the mouths of many CR members, but in an attempt to dispell rumors of a quarrel, Meanmike explains his version of the situation below:
"We found out when Mentos did, but again, SA made it clear there would be consequences for Mentos at some point. The timing wasn't ideal, but they didn't hide that they were gonna get them at some point.
Yes, I have spoken to MK and Miro, and all is well. We may have gotten a little jammed up over the timing, but SA is our ally, and we are committed to that, fully, so no big deal."
Such conflicts of interest may seem dangerous, but the way SA and CR's leadership have handled this incident thus far surely proves their commitment to the Insurgency Alliance. What this means for the various helper factions and agreements in place between Insurgency and JFK or non-allied factions is less certain, as is the result of this epic battle for survival by MnC.
And if SA and FTW win out, a solid block of Insurgency-only territory could prove beneficial to both SA and CR in the long run. If anything, this makes it seem more likely that Chain Reaction might have secretly condoned this action well ahead of time. We have no evidence of this claim whatsoever, but if Meanmike had found out about SA's impending assault upon MnC, would he have warned them? Where would his loyalties have lain?
Another concern is that we may run out of popcorn before all of this comes to a conclusion. Personally, this reporter keeps a large stash of Barbados Rum for just such occasions, and Michael stole all my popcorn already. But one thing that will always be in plentiful supply is arrogance. When war begins, the chest-beating inevitably begins with it, and this can be exemplified no better than through the insane ramblings of Subversive Alliance's attack dog Dekloren, which were sent to the TCT editor, Sugarvalves, earlier today.

"I think that while we are all in an alliance, each faction still has its own business to attend to on the side, this was SA's business, they went about it on their own, and they didn't ask for Insurgency help. It's unfortunate that the timing made it look like CR was involved, but Mentos knows better, so it's all good."
