Let's look through all the changes and fixes which have been made throughout the week as listed in Tuesday's Patch list, and what they mean for you.
NB: Before we begin, Chedburn would like to point out that the errors and updates noted in this article are worked on by a team of developers. Where a developer is individually mentioned, this may indicate they have merely posted or tested the change, not that they were solely responsible for it.
Updates, Changes, and Additions
- Enabled medical item usage while in jail and hospital at the same time
Valandes reported over in this thread that even though they had been arrested, and were in jail, they were also in the Hospital, but couldn't use medical items. After some discussion, it was decided that allowing medical item usage while in jail and also in the hospital was the best option. Chedburn made this change.
It is now the case that when placing a bounty, you will be able to input an optional reason - subject to the usual word filtering - to be displayed for anyone browsing the listings to see. The reason will be displayed as "None" if no reason was specified. Bounties with a reason will include this in the Events received by the target. nikitad confirmed this feature had been added, and the results so far are marvellous.
Bugs, Fixes, and Typos
- Fixed opening newspaper article in a new browser tab
Although not reported anywhere, an issue with opening articles in a new browser tab was fixed after being reported by Sugarvalves.
- Fixed wrong online status on travel pages
Joxer reported here that while overseas, the green light that would show them as online wasn't displaying as such, instead displaying as offline. vysdel2 confirmed this had been resolved.
- Fixed live updating money amount after buying a stock
Kidboss03 reported here that money on-hand didn't update live after purchasing from the Stock Market. nikitad confirmed this as fixed.
- Fixed managing display case page access while traveling
Wiber reported here that while display cases are meant to be for viewing only while travelling, you could also manage and add items. This also meant being able to view your inventory while overseas. Xepa4ep resolved this.
- Fixed screen jittering on mobile page view
Rum4nyby reported here that they experienced "screen jitters" while playing Torn, causing the display to move up and down while flashing. After 2-months, this was finally confirmed as fixed by nikitad.
- Fixed 'Travel back home' time including inaccurate 3% variance
Prince_Corwin reported here an intriguing instance of possible time travel. They thought they could choose their travel time going back to Torn by continuously refreshing the page until they found the shortest time possible. This was due to the time stating it will take to return included the 3% variance; however, there was no exploit, due to the time being generated again once you confirmed to travel back. Chedburn fixed this.
- Fixed cancel / close links in the points building
The_SamminAter reported here that links inside the Points Building were labelled as "Cancel", instead of "Close." Chedburn corrected this.
- Fixed shifting backdrop while scrolling
The_SamminAter reports here that when scrolling a page, the selected backdrop appeared to be scrolling along with it. nikitad confirmed this had been fixed.
- Fixed displaying added text in the "Confirmation ad" step of the Newspaper page
Mavi reported here that the confirmation step for a Personal Ad did not include the details that was filled out in previous steps. nikitad confirmed this fix had been made.
- Fixed "Running away from trouble book" effect if attacker is under DOT
Harley reported here that they failed to Escape their opponent while reading the Book "Running Away From Trouble" which has a guaranteed escape success for 31-days. However, because Damage Over Time (DOT) effects were applied, the book didn't work. aurel1 quickly issued a fix for this!
- Fixed Fireworks (temporary weapon) having a rate of fire
evanarmagast reported here that "Fireworks" were displaying a Rate of Fire value despite being a Temporary weapon; this is due to the fact Fireworks used to be a Secondary weapon. Chedburn corrected this.
Typos
- Fixed some travel fact typos
Mundeer reported here a Travel Fact typo where "breakaway" is spelt as "breakway." Chedburn corrected this.
Honour Bar
This week's Honour Bar is "Alpinist" for gaining a total of 100,000,000 Dexterity which can be triggered by training the respective stat once.

ADDENDUM
As per the competition from the Weekly Patch Notes 4 weeks ago, 10 people mailed Proxima with the correct guess as to which Patch List the 100,000,000 Dexterity Honour Bar would be released with (Patch List #79). These people have won 3 FHC, which will be sent out throughout the week. Mail Proxima if you believe you should have won, but have not received anything by 05/02/19.
