Weekly Patch Notes 26/03/19

Stewie [1494547]
Let's have a look through the latest Patch List as posted by Chedburn to see what changes and fixes have been made this week, and what they mean for you.
Please note, the updates and bugs documented in this article are worked on by a team of developers. Where a single developer is individually mentioned, it simply reflects who confirmed the report as fixed or complete, and not that they were solely responsible.

Updates, Changes, and Additions

- Added system to take ownership of items loaned from old / destroyed factions upon return attempt
.

Mansur reported here that they had an item stuck in their inventory which had been loaned from an old faction. Chedburn confirmed the faction it was loaned from has since been deleted, and that a new system has been added which will allow the user to attempt to return it, resulting in them taking ownership instead.

- Fixed auto updating the points building option status after using it.

Jefayette reported here that when using an instant special refill, you would be forced to reload the page to use another one if you had multiple tabs open to use the energy, or nerve in another tab. Nikitad confirmed that these, along with other Points Building options, will be updated after using the refill, removing the need to refresh the page.

- Added tooltips on the "Level Up" page when increasing to level 2 to avoid newbie confusion.

A simple quality of life change has been implemented for new players, who often believe they are meant to hold down the "Hold" button to progress to the next level. Tooltips which appear when hovering over the hold button will hopefully prevent this confusion.

- Added shortcuts for money input field in the "Pawn shop" page.

BeerDrinker reported here that shortcuts weren't possible in the 'Sell your points' panel of the Pawn Shop. Nikitad has confirmed the ability to use shortcuts has been added.

- Changed Authenticator QR-code generator that was using deprecated Google API.

Although not reported anywhere on the forums, a change has been made to the QR-code generator using deprecated Google API.

- Changed "Painleth Dentitht" mission trigger to count hits from "Penelope" item.

Imrahil reported here that they were unable to use Penelope (Duke's Baseball Bat) for the mission "Painleth Dentiht". Pavel confirmed this had been previously changed for Duke's Hammer, and that allowing Penelope to be used in such cases should not be a problem either.

- Added new revive logs system with factionID records.
- [API] Added revives and revivesfull selections (with to/from functionality) to user & faction.

After being suggested here by Jox, a new system has been added that makes tracking revives for factions a lot easier. It is accessible via the Official API in the user & faction categories with the selections revives & revivesfull with the usual to/from functionality. Chedburn confirmed this has been added. Jox would like to extend his thanks to Embyr and many faction leaders who helped to get the thread to the attention of a developer by sharing it.

- Added system to clear blacklists of inactive deleted accounts to remove fraudulent enemy counts

There's not really much that can be said about this one to make it any clearer; the blacklists of inactive, deleted accounts, will now be cleared after a set period of time.

Bugs, Fixes, and Typos

- [API] Fixed the 'fundsnews' selection having the name 'donationnews'.

L4suicide reported here that the 'fundsnews' selection in Faction API returned data with the key 'donationnews'. Chedburn has corrected this.

- Changed links in forum posts to open in new tabs.

Tos posted here to see if it would be possible to open all links in a new tab when using the forums (target="_blank"). Chedburn later stated that is what they should be doing, Viktor confirmed this is now the case.

- Fixed issue with incomplete awards showing 100% progress.

ThtAstronautGuy reported here a rounding issue with Medals displaying 100% when close to being completed. Chedburn commented, and said that he would be able to prevent all Medals from displaying over 99% progress, which is now done.

- Fixed display issue of pagination on mobile/tablet screen views.

Chrominator reported here an issue with pagination on mobile and tablet views, in which the last page number would be displayed underneath and bleed into the title bar below. Nikitad confirmed this is now fixed.

- Changed opening / closing bazaars to enable / disable bazaar icon.

RandomCC reported here that the bazaar icon was still visible despite their bazaar being closed at the time. Chedburn stated that this was an oversight, and should be removed while the user's bazaar is closed. This is now the case.

- Changed session cookie lifespan to 1 year.

Ahab reported here an issue with Torn logging out immediately upon closing the browser. This has now been changed to give users a 1-year cookie lifespan, presumably implemented by Pavel.

- Fixed "Army of One" mission trigger issues.

L4suicide reported here that when attempting a Mission, specifically "Army of One", the task for attacking the target without a mask had been checked, despite the player having not attempted it. It was thought that an attack from another user had counted in error. Pavel stated the trigger for success has been amended, and that it should now work as intended.

- Fixed displaying page titles with punctuation on the "Newspaper" page.

The_SamminAter reported in this thread that when viewing a Newspaper article, specifically "The War Isn't Over", the page title would not correctly display an apostrophe, with the intended title of "The War Isn't Over" showing as "The War Isn' Over." Nikitad confirmed a fix has been made.

- Fixed some general grammar / typos.

- Fixed pluralisation of "upgrades" when losing a single upgrade during a crash in racing.

Kalisa reported here that when only losing one upgrade after crashing a vehicle in a race, the event received should read "... The upgrade [...] was lost" - singular, instead of plural. Chedburn provided a fix.

- Fixed message when trying to send a non-existent parcel.

BeerDrinker reported here that when attempting to send their one and only Parcel that had just been gift-wrapped, a typo was present: "Here are all of the ...s you have." Viktor provided a fix.

- Fixed "Wrath of Duke" mission completion text typo.

shadowshade reported here a typo in the completion text for the Mission, "Wrath of Duke", where an apostrophe displayed itself as "âEUR(TM)". Pavel has now corrected this.

- Fixed typo upon attempting to revive someone with radiation poisoning.

911ChickenCop reported a typo present when attempting to revive someone with radiation poisoning, where "Thats" should have had an apostrophe. Chedburn has corrected this.

Extras (Not included in the Patch list)

1.
DesterionZA
reported here a factual error in the traveling fact "South Africa shares a border with Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Swaziland," seen when traveling to South Africa. The list of countries is missing Lesotho - despite South Africa surrounding Lesotho's border entirely. Chedburn corrected this one with enthusiasm.

2. PlatinumDevil reported here an issue regarding the Dirty Bomb "cutscene" message not appearing for him; however, other users also experienced this issue, including Harley (#BlameHarley). Annoyingly for Chedburn, it appeared his previous changes to fix the issue had somehow been reverted. Now the scene will no longer appear in the forums, or on "/authenticate.php" - it will appear only when navigating away from them.

3. MISS-VANJIE reported here that the tool tips for the "Working Stats" and "Battle Stats" panels on the Home page were not consistent with each other. The tool tips on the Working Stats panel could be accessed in either column, whereas they could only be accessed in the right column for Battle Stats. Nikitad confirmed this has now been fixed.

Honor Bar

This week's Honor Bars are 'Stinker', 'Wipeout' and 'Foul Play', achieved by successfully pranking others with Stink Bombs, Toilet Paper and Dog Poop respectively.
