Let's have a look through the latest Patch List as posted by Chedburn to see what updates, changes, and fixes have been made to Torn this week, and what they mean for you.
Please note, the updates and bugs documented in this article are worked on by a team of developers. Where a single developer is individually mentioned, it simply reflects who confirmed the report as fixed or complete, and not that they were solely responsible.
Updates, Changes, and Additions
- Released Poker 2.0 public beta
The long anticipated Poker 2.0 has finally been opened for a public beta test. Poker 2.0 serves as the replacement to the bug-ridden flash version built almost 12 years ago, and it comes with a host of new features such as increased blind levels, auto-call/check/fold buttons and auto-starting hands. - Added Logistics Management company
Announced over a year ago, the new "Logistics" company has been released. These can be started for $1,800,000,000 and come with five brand new specials, including exchanging job points for speed, allowing additional missions open at any one time and flying home from abroad while in hospital. - Added ability to view your model (and opponent's weapons) during attacks on touchscreen devices.
The ability to see your own player model while viewing your opponent's weapons during attacks on touchscreen devices has been added.
- Added ability for staff and owners to remove forum polls when editing a thread.
Mitchell created a bug report here to address the issue that Staff members could not edit the contents of a Poll in Forum threads. Chedburn agreed that this would be a useful feature for Staff members. However, Champion and M'Goober suggested this should also work for the thread owner. Viktor confirmed this feature has now been implemented.
- Added 9 new titles: Boxer, Alcoholic, Nudist, Mercenary, Addict, Medalist, Accomplice, Slayer & Mobster.
- Changed Sage title to be based on activity rather than logins.
After a suggestion created by iribuya, 9 new titles have been added.
Also, in order to be a much more accurate representation, the Sage title was changed to be based on user activity instead of logins.
- Added the ability to remove cars from the racing system that have had racing points spent on them.
After a suggestion from killin, users may now "delete" cars from their enlisted roster.
- Changed fallen faction members to not be included in the total member counts.
After a suggestion from DeaLer, the member count for factions will not include Fallen members. Additionally, the member count will now update every time members are accepted, kicked or leave.
Bugs, Fixes, and Typos
- Fixed 'Start fight' button occasionally appearing after a fight is finished due to status polling.
CockyNudist reported an issue here that after stalemating in an attack and attempting to click on the 'CONTINUE' button, they would immediately be launched into a new attack. This happened because of polling updates that refreshed the page, causing the button to change to 'START FIGHT' - though this change was unnoticed by CockyNudist. This report has not been marked as Fixed currently, but it is presumed to have been resolved by Sviat.
- Fixed your weapons being obscured when starting an attack on touchscreen devices.
An issue causing weapons to be obscured when starting an attack on mobile and tablet devices has been resolved.
- Fixed 'special weapon' glow disappearing during attacks.
Either Pavel or Sviat has resolved an issue relating to glow on 'special weapons' disappearing during attacks.
- Fixed polling during attacks that have finished.
An issue relating to polling after attacks have finished has been resolved, presumably by Sviat. It was also noted in this report by Proxima, where he was able to use his ArmaLite after the attack had finished, and upon clicking 'CONTINUE', a red message appeared stating the user was currently in hospital and unable to be attacked.
- Fixed issue with booster/medical timer formats on the sidebar.
Vulture reported here that when not in a faction, Booster cooldown was displaying the wrong time format. Chedburn also noted that this was the same with Medical cooldown. Nikitad confirmed these have now been fixed.
- Fixed issue with armory list returning to the first page after loaning an item.
Rico reported here that when loaning items out from the faction armory from a page other than 1, the page would revert back to 1, requiring the user to switch back manually. Viktor has resolved this.
- Fixed lines misalignment in the 'Users Online' section on the main page when user logged out.
- Fixed lines misalignment in the 'Rank', 'Level' and 'Age' sections on the profile page.
Vulture reported here an issue with the lines through Level, Age, and Rank on a player's profile while flying, noting that the lines were also purple in color. Catherine confirmed this has been fixed.
- Fixed green highlighting for the "Get Promoted" container (top page links) on Jobs page when available.
- Fixed "Get promoted" button validation when the user has/hasn't enough job points to promote.
2127 reported here that after a previous change to hide the 'Get Promoted' button when the user does not have the required job points, there was now no indicator as to how many job points was needed to rank up. Chedburn noted that making changes from their previous report was likely a mistake and that the button is meant to appear when the required stats have been met, but if the user does not have the required points, it would not be successful. However, it has also been changed so that the button will not glow green unless you have met all requirements.
- Fixed user's faction icon not being updated upon trading a faction.
MrDoe reported here that after trading a faction through the Trade system, their faction icons never updated. Chedburn stated this was quite an easy fix, noting that there did not appear to be any instructions to update these icons when trading factions.
- Fixed players abroad appearing in Detective Agency's 'most wanted' list.
Tigatupa reported here that the list received when using the Detective Agency special included players abroad, and as the rewards of the respective individuals would not be able to be claimed, Chedburn agreed to remove them from this list.
- Fixed Memories And Mammaries use confirmation to mention the effect of the last book is taken.
The confirmation upon clicking Read / Use for "Memories and Mammaries" has been updated for clarity by Chedburn, after Outlaw2 reported here to have accidentally started reading the book, not realising it would take the effect of their previous one, "Time is in the Mind".
- Fixed issue with browser tab title when opening thread in new tab.
cookc reported here that upon opening a thread in a new tab, the title of the tab in the user's browser would be displayed as "forum" and "back", rather than the title of the thread. Viktor confirmed that this issue has been resolved.
Typos
1. Chedburn corrected a capitlization inconsistency in the 'Personal Perks' box, where the life upgrade perk, acquired with Merits, did not start with an uppercase character (life > Life). This was pointed out by killin here.
- Fixed displaying the plural "points" immediately after job promotion.
kyozo43 reported here the incorrect usage of the word "point" seen upon being promoted in one of the six starter jobs, noting it does not automatically change to "points" when the value is more than 1. Nikitad has confirmed this as fixed.
Extras (Not included in the Patch list)
1. Vyasa reported here that since ranking up from 'Gaming Consultant' to 'Marketing Manager' in the Casino job, they hadn't received any further job points. The report was passed on to Chedburn for further investigation after Joshua noticed from the logs that the player hadn't gained any more points since using 10 of them on the 'Casino tips' special. However, this issue turned out to be a slight misunderstanding, since ranking up costs 10 points - a fact which wasn't shown in the Activity Log. Chedburn has since updated the Activity Log to reflect how many job points are used upon promotion.
2. MeadowEU reported here that when adding a description to friends / enemies via Profiles, a maximum of 40 characters were permitted, while adding directly from their respective pages allowed for 200. For consistency's sake, Chedburn changed them all to have a maximum of 40, although descriptions already set will not be affected.
Honor Bar
This week's Honor Bar is "Modded", achieved by equipping two stage three (or higher) Mods to a single gun. Though this did not initially appear to be the case, Chedburn confirmed in this thread that this is how the honor bar should work.
