Let's have a look through the latest Patch List as posted by Chedburn to see what updates, changes, and fixes have been made to Torn this week, and what they mean for you.
Please note, the updates and bugs documented in this article are worked on by a team of developers. Where a single developer is individually mentioned, it simply reflects who confirmed the report as fixed or complete, and not that they were solely responsible.
Updates, Changes, and Additions
- Changed maximum amount of sets to exchange in the Museum to 1000.
After BeerDrinker reported an issue with bulk-exchanging a large number of sets in the museum, Chedburn observed it was because of the unusually high number of sets being exchanged at once (>6000 in one instance) and suggested a hard limit of 1000 should be imposed. nikitad confirmed that this has now been implemented.
Bugs, Fixes and Typos
- Fixed territory map in the faction territory panel.
When territory warring was first released, the "Territory" faction panel contained a cropped version of the city map displaying your faction's territory. This was removed a while ago to fix some bugs and has now been re-implemented.
- Fixed faction armory 'Give points' panel in desktop mode in mobile/tablet screen resolutions.
aposlady reported that while using Chrome on iPad she was not able to distribute points to her faction members despite owning a Points Armoury that did, in fact, contain points. Chedburn initially suspected correcting this might not be possible given the device and version, however, nikitad has eventually been able to report a fix was found!
- Fixed missing pluralisation on "Month" on the personal stats graph duration dropdown.
Mitchell noticed that on personal stats graph, options for "3 months" and "6 months" did not have "month" pluralised. nikitad confirmed that this has been fixed.
- Fixed new players NPC mission fight issue.
When an update to looting was released it had the unintended consequence of making Dummy NPCs, used in New Player Missions, un-attackable. Chedburn notes that this was fixed almost immediately early last week.
- Fixed bounty reason being removed from icons upon regeneration.
- Fixed swear filter for bounty reason when appearing in the icon description.
Dekloren reported here that the "Reasons" associated with some bounties were not displayed in the profile icons of certain players. Chedburn noted that upon refreshing icons this week, users would strip the reason from the icon alt-text, but that the issue would be fixed for the next LIVE push.
Additionally, top0 had reported that bounty reasons containing expletives were not correctly filtered out in this icon alt-text, and this was marked as fixed at the same time.
- Fixed missions highlight on sidebar when an agent can provide more than 3 missions.
Scalper reported that when he was able to receive up to 5 missions at a time, thanks to the Logistics Management company special, the 4th and 5th missions do not update the sidebar link. aurel1 has confirmed that this was fixed.
- Fixed issue with sending events to others on mobile.
Exie reported here that while using mobile Torn specifically, it was not possible to "send" events to a friend. nikitad confirmed that this has been fixed.
- Fixed 'use another' button appearing after receiving error while using medical items.
Wevie noticed here that he was still asked if he wanted to "Use Another" empty blood bag in situations where it was forbidden to do so, and an error was given, such as whilst in Jail. Xepa4ep has confirmed this is now amended.
- Fixed issue with £ and é symbols when creating a thread.
MikePence and Stewie reported that when creating a new thread the symbols £ and é (respectively) could not be used, and users would be met with the error "Please add content to your new thread". Xepa4ep reports that this has now been fixed.
- Fixed issue with wrong temporary item info on bazaar manage page.
Owen noticed that flash grenades incorrectly displayed "[Accuracy Symbol] 3000" on bazaar pages. Stewie observed this was an issue for all temporary weapons, and Xepa4ep has since confirmed this has been amended.
- Fixed issue with additional lead space on add items pages.
UnknownT reported that when adding items to his bazaar there is an extraneous space before the item name. He eventually discerned that this occurred only with items of which he had a double-digit quantity. Xepa4ep has confirmed this has been corrected.
- Fixed issue with showing single unique items as grouped on all item tab.
Lalop observed that in the "All items" inventory tab, even if only one weapon of a specific type is owned, it is put into an expandable list as if there were multiple. Xepa4ep has since corrected this behaviour.
- Fixed 'Reconstruction' mission description wording.
SoloWarrior reported here an issue with the mission "Reconstruction", which requires a user to defeat another player with certain items equipped. The flavour text however only asks to attack the player, and as there are certain missions that do only require an attack and not a defeat, this can be misleading. Chedburn agreed, and aurel1 confirmed the text had been changed.
Honor Bar
This week's new honour bar is "Manu Forte", achieved by defeating a player that has at least double your battle stat total in solo combat. "Semper Fortis" has also been slightly altered to now require that you defeat a player with a higher battle stat total than yourself in solo combat. In a comment referencing players such as BodyBagger who have no current way of achieving "Manu Forte", bogie hinted "Semper Forte" and "Manu Forte" are part of a larger series of honors, while also suggesting that powerful players will get an opportunity to achieve Manu Forte in the future.
