Find out who won the latest Community Events, and also which new competitions will be opening up soon just in time for Elimination.
Duke and Leslie have announced the winners of their Community Event competitions, with Heasleys4Hemp emerging as the winner of Choke Me Leslie, and LadyDolce taking first prize in Duke's Island Giveaway. But before we look at their winning entries, we'd like to inform you of two special Elimination themed competitions which will begin early next month.

At noon on the 5th of September, the annual Elimination competition will begin. During this event, many players display their allegiance to their team by sporting a customised signature in their profiles and forum posts. To enable all players to do this, we'll be running an Elimination Signature Competition from the 5th until the 26th of September.

Once the team names are announced, players will be able to submit as many entries as they like to this competition, with winners being chosen after Elimination has ended - you obviously don't have to wait until then to use them in your profiles, though. And if you need a little inspiration, take a look at last year's designs through this link below.

2018 Elimination Signature Competition

Another popular aspect of Elimination is the creation of memes. Torn's citizens have a strong meme game during even the quietest parts of the year, so we'll be expecting great things when the Torn Meme Competition opens up on the 5th of September. This event also runs until the 26th, with multiple entries allowed once more. These competitions will both be re-announced via Torn's social media channels when they are up and running. Or you can simply keep an eye out for their publication in the Community Events area of Torn.

Now, without further ado, let's take a look at the horrific winning entries into this year's Choke Me Leslie competition.

Heasleys4hemp was the worthy winner of Choke Me Leslie, with his foul entry deemed simply too good to resist by Torn Casino's Leslie Chanthavong. Heasley follows in the fine filthy footsteps of such illustrious "champions" as Carp and Estelle, whose winning entries from previous years can be seen in the 2017 and 2018 event pages linked below.

Second place in this event was Estelle, our 2018 winner, whose 2019 entry parodied the winning Mr Torn entry submitted by Bogie. As you can see, the theme of this year's competition seems to be faeces. Lots and lots of faeces.

Estelle's entry was objectively outstanding, but it seems that Heasley4Hemp just shaded it by disposing with his self-respect in its entirety. Thankfully, the third-place entry by Hularu did not include any human excrement - at least we hope not - but she did plump for another bodily fluid, along with a series of scabs, puss-filled wounds and sores which wowed and sickened Leslie in equal measure.

These fabulous entries were good enough to take the top three positions and the various ribbons and prizes which come with them. The three outright winners were joined by seven other players, four male and three female, in being awarded a paper bag item for their despicable efforts too, with a total of five men and women chosen out of the many great entries to receive this prestigious prize. Officer_Peanut for Pulling This Face

RyeDao for Nipple Post-Its

Piterson for Upside Down Beard

Chasemanhattan for The Body That Says Oooh

Misschief for Looking Like She Had Her Nose Smashed

Blueberry_tart for This Sickening Display

Katypatra for Smearing Cack on her Face

Congratulations to all of those who received a paper bag for their efforts. And if any of you are thinking of feeling sorry for these people, please don't. We conducted a background check on each winning entrant to see what they really looked like. I am happy to inform you that all of those who received a paper bag are "well fit" and we "totally would", either individually or all at once, depending on their schedules.

The second competition which ended this week was Duke's Island Giveaway, where players could win a free 90-day stay in one of Shirley Prima Dante Calabrese's fully upgraded private islands. Some players decided to whine about this event because they thought the prize was to win an island outright. To these entitled jerks, we say go to hell.

This event has run for several years now with exactly the same prize. If you're too stupid and lazy to look that up, you deserve a free stay in the hospital instead. New players who cannot afford to buy private islands outright find these rentals incredibly useful. But if the prizes on offer aren't good enough for you, then feel free to enter something else instead, such as a lion enclosure at the zoo, while smeared naked in hot mince.

Anyway, this competition required players to record themselves denying a crime as if they were being interviewed by the police. The winner was LadyDolce, whose acting skills were really on show during this amusing and well-written entry.

LadyDolce's Entry

LadyDolce won a Golden Microphone in addition to her free island stay. Second place was awarded to GavinDymock, who put on a convincing mockney accent during his imaginary brush with the law. Leslie thought he sounded like the famous American actor Dick Van ****, whose name was, amusingly, only partially censored by the Torn text editor.

Gavin took home a Silver Microphone as well as a 90-day stay on a fully-upgraded private island. Third place was awarded to ChaseManhattan for his drunken ramblings at a police officer. In return, he too received a free private island rental, in addition to a Bronze Microphone.

Congratulations to all three of the winners, and to those of you who received a Donator Pack as a consolation prize. And if you weren't lucky enough to win this time, keep an eye out for the Elimination themed competitions coming up next month.
