Player-run Holiday Heals event set to hand out free revives to all players over Christmas. Read on to find out more.
Are you planning a little territory skirmish this weekend? Maybe you'd like to overdose on Christmas Day. Or perhaps you'd like to insult Bodybagger's mother and see what happens? If so, chances are you'll end up in the Torn Hospital, and that can be a depressing place at Christmas. But thanks to the efforts of Rise Again and some other healing factions you won't spend long in the emergency ward this year, as they're offering free revives to all players from the 20th to the 25th of December!

This event was created by Stoned, the leader of Rise Again, who wanted to spread some holiday cheer and give back to the community by offering free revives over Christmas. Originally, his faction was only going to perform this good deed on Christmas Day, but since many people already had plans to argue with their family about politics on that day, Stoned decided to extend it to a five-day event instead, running from December 20th 00:01 TCT until December 25th 00:01 TCT.
Word soon spread of Rise Again's Holiday Heals initiative, so Stoned reached out to other reviving factions like Emergency Room, Torn Medical, and Nuclear Clinic, all of whom have agreed to let some of their revivers participate as well. If you want to know if someone outside of Rise Again is offering free revives over the holidays, look out for the reindeer graphic below, which will appear on their profile.

Rise Again still has plenty of room in their revive faction if anybody wants to hop over and participate, and since they have all the relevant perks unlocked, reviving will only cost you 25 energy if you join them! Stoned is also holding a contest for those in RA during the event, offering prizes to those who give out the most free revives. But what if you haven't unlocked the reviving ability? Can you take part in this event without being on the receiving end of a bullet and a free revive?
Yes you can. Many players have indicated they wanted to spread some joy throughout Torn in other ways too, so Stoned started a kindness campaign to run alongside the Holiday Heals event.
"We're asking everyone to reach out to someone in the community you don't usually interact with, and show them a little love. Maybe send them a gift, or claim all their bounties...or just wish them a merry Christmas! Such a small kindness can impact someone so greatly...And to inspire you a bit, we're offering a Donator Pack to the person we feel most embodies the Christmas spirit in their random act of Christmas kindness! Just simply post your act in this thread, and a winner will be chosen at 7pm TCT Christmas Day." - Stoned

So if you receive a free revive over the next few days, why not pay it forward with a random act of kindness towards another player? And even if you don't need a revive, it doesn't hurt to do something nice anyway, as your one good deed might start a chain of others that brings a little joy into countless peoples' lives.
I've already received a message from one player going through a tough time who said that the positivity shown in the Holiday Heals thread made her day a little bit better. People should know that even though Torn is just a game, it's possible to make a real difference in real people's lives on here. I've had similar exchanges with other players from threads I've made in the past. You'd be surprised at how helpful a kind word or gesture can be to someone that's having a hard time.
And if you're not in the Christmas spirit just yet, then have a listen to this special Christmas message from Rise Again. It'll warm the cockles of your cold heart for sure.
tl;dr: Be nice to each other this Christmas
