Weekly Patch Notes: 11/02 - 18/02

Let's look through the Patch list for the weeks of 11/02/2020 and 18/02/2020 to see what updates, changes, and fixes have been made by the Developers, and what they mean for you.
Please note, the updates and bugs documented in this article are worked on by a team of developers. Where a single developer is individually mentioned, it simply reflects who confirmed the report as fixed or complete, and not that they were solely responsible.



Updates, Changes, and Additions


- Added 10 member requirement for declaring a raid.
- Added option to cease a raid after 24 hours if the opponent faction has fewer than 10 members.

These changes were made after a report from ProtonStrike. In order to declare a Raid, factions must now have at least 10 members to do so. Furthermore, if the raiding faction drops below 10 members at any point after the first 24 hours of the raid, the opposing faction will have the ability to cease.


- Added events for all faction members in the event of wars starting or ending.

Territory war events for starting and ending have been added by Kopites for all faction members after a report by Tipsy.


- Added 'War hits', 'Bonus hits' and 'Average respect' to chain report table.

After a report by Jox, chain reports will now display the number of war hits, bonus hits, and average respect. In order to free up some space, Chedburn decided to remove the column for level. Kopites confirmed that this had been done.


- Added tooltips for personal stats for the mobile/tablet screen views.

In this report by Lugburz, it was suggested that adding a tooltip to personal stat titles would prevent some of them being truncated when there is not enough space. While everything should already be comprehensible with the shortened names on mobile and tablet views, Chedburn agreed to have tooltips added for when the stat title is tapped on, allowing the user to view the full stat title. This change was confirmed by nikitad.


- Added auto-leave when defeating a target and then being jailed (I.e. via organised crime).

This addition was made by aurel1 after a report by Ahab.


- Added quality rating value for unique items to Trades.

The quality rating has been made visible in Trades after a report by _Scofield_. This was confirmed to have been fixed by Xepa4ep.


- Changed Duke's life from 1.5m to 3.5m and Leslie's life from 800k to 2m.

The life of both Duke and Leslie has been raised following reports that NPC takedowns were being completed too quickly. Shortened fights had become commonplace following a previous fix to an issue whereby the number of attacks upon NPCs was not being correctly recorded, meaning fights were twice as long as they should have been. However, given that the community had gotten used to fights of this length, it was decided to increase the NPCs' lives to restore the previous duration of an NPC takedown.


- Changed Valentine's Day Love Juice event to also reduce reviving costs by -15 energy

After being suggested by -Yeti, Love Juice was changed to also reduce revive costs by 15 energy.


- Changed trade 'Accept' / 'Decline' button positions on Trade to be more intuitive.
- Changed 'Locked trade' message to reference declining a trade to unlock it.

After a suggestion from Rob_Snow, the Accept and Decline buttons have been swapped with each other. Furthermore, the "Locked trade" message will now mention that unlocking a trade can be achieved by declining it.


- Improved in-game client performance for large group attacks.

Large group attacks have received some optimisation by improving the performance of the in-game client.


- Added visual trade logs / comments to completed trades and increased pruning intervals of old trades.

This was implemented after a suggestion from Demented to be able to see the comments made during a trade after it had already been completed. In addition to this, the time in which older logs are deleted for has been extended so that they are kept for longer.


- Added the ability to cease a raid as loser if it's inactive for more than 72 hours (instead of automatic finish).

Once a Raid has been inactive for more than 72 hours, either faction will now have the ability to cease as loser instead of being finished automatically.


- Updated credits page to include the newer full-time developers.

The Credits page has been updated to include newer Developers hired within the past year or so.



Bugs, Fixes, and Typos


- Fixed slow loading 'User search' in the header.

An issue that was causing the search tool on the page header to load results extremely slowly has been resolved after being reported privately.


- Fixed non-selectable text on dialog screen once an attack is finished.

In a report by Proxima, it was observed that the text shown at the end of a fight was unable to be copied to clipboard. This has since been fixed by svyat770.


- Fixed issue allowing retaliation bonus to be applied twice.

nex observed two complete separate hospitalizations from the same player which received the retal bonus, despite not attacking anyone in between the two. Kopites confirmed this issue was fixed.


- Fixed 'Tell your story' panel disappearing after clicking on entry fields on Newspaper.

In this report by scorch2, it was observed that upon selecting the title field, the 'Tell Your Story' panel would disappear. The issue was marked as resolved by Chedburn.


- Fixed missing user's name on the left panel on Slots.

This issue was resolved by svyat770 after a report by Ahab.


- Fixed number formatting issue on stock splitting.

In this report by DeKleineKobini, a minor formatting issue was discovered with how share block quantities were displayed. This has since been confirmed as fixed by nikitad.


- Fixed the first upgrade on additional branches incorrectly highlighting as available on Faction Trees.

The_Boss observed the first upgrade for Travel cost incorrectly being highlighted as blue despite not having the Travel capacity II upgrade set. This was confirmed to be resolved by nikitad.


- Fixed text alignment issue for course names on Education in touchscreen view.

It was observed in a report by HowsThat that some education courses in Computer Science had their titles centre formatted. Presumably, this was due to their lengthy course titles. nikitad confirmed this issue has been resolved.


- Fixed live events system on logged-out landing page.

This issue was fixed by vysdel2 after a report from UumbaLuumba, in which it was observed that global events on the Logged out page were frozen.


- Fixed disabled tutorials reappearing when refreshing a page.

An issue which caused page tutorials to reappear after having already been closed was resolved after a report by Lugburz. This was confirmed to be resolved by nikitad.


- Fixed hospital time formatting on mission task.

A minor formatting issue on the mission for putting the target in hospital for 12 hours has been resolved by aurel1, after a report by The_Boss.


- Fixed personal stat 'Received bounty value' only updating once with multiples (stats refreshing now).

In this report by Redxjak, it was discovered that when a user placed multiple bounties on an individual, their "Received bounty value" stat would only increase with the value of one of them. With that bug resolved, Chedburn refreshed the received bounty stats and updated them to include all data since 2015.


- Fixed issue with ammo title text on Mission Rewards panel.

After this report by CloudJumper, the purchase confirmation for special ammunition will now display the type (I.e. Hollow Point, Piercing, Tracer, and Incendiary). This was resolved by aurel1.


- Fixed 'games in progress' value on Bookie statistics.

xHotBodyx observed that the statistic for Bookie games in progress was always set at 0, even if that was not the case. Kopites confirmed the issue was fixed.


- Fixed company special job point input validation according to user's job points amount.

After this report by TitanTowel, input validation has been added to job point usage. nikitad confirmed this had been implemented.


- Fixed an icon and stats collision when two people join the same slot on a territory wall at the same time.

This issue was resolved by Kopites after a report by Neil_Peart.


- Fixed issue with buy confirmation position when item info is open on Bazaars.

xHotBodyx observed the bazaar purchase confirming being shifted upwards slightly when the items info panel was open. Xepa4ep has since confirmed this to be resolved.


- Fixed forum reloading issue when navigating with phone's back button.

It was observed by mrsguyliner that when using their phone's "Back" button when in a forum thread, it would just reload the page on the first attempt, instead of returning to the previous page. This has since been resolved as confirmed by Xepa4ep.


- Fixed forum reloading issue when clicking "show more" or performing certain actions.

Marky_ reported here that when selecting "Show more" on forum quotes, they would be kicked back to the forums main page instead. This issue was also present on other various actions, such as removing quotes, expanding poll options, and when confirming the pinning of a post. Xepa4ep confirmed this was fixed.


- Fixed issue with double $ symbol when changing price on Item Market.

JDTech noticed the dollar sign ($) being duplicated in the confirmation when changing the price of an item on the Item Market (to higher than what it is). Xepa4ep confirmed this was now resolved.


- Fixed issue with ceasing a raid if an opponent faction has fewer than 10 members.
- Fixed issue with members not being kicked from a faction that was destroyed in a raid.

The issue in which a raid was unable to be ceased if a faction has less than 10 members has been resolved by Kopites after a report by bl34. Additionally, in this report by Ahab, Chedburn discovered an issue which resulted in members of a destroyed faction not being kicked out, which has since been resolved.


- Fixed sorting by username on Chain Reports.

It is now possible to sort Chain Reports by username after a change was (presumably) made by Kopites.


- Fixed summary data (at the top) not showing correct values on Chain Reports.

This issue has been resolved by Kopites after Reagan reported the values for Retals, Leaves, Mugs, Hospitalizes, and Losses showing as 0.


- Fixed icon highlighting logic once clicked for Buy / Bust on the Jail page.

An issue which caused both the Bust and Bail icons to highlight once one of them was clicked on has been resolved.


- Fixed bid button appearing twice on the Auction house.

In this report, xHotBodyx observed the bid icon being duplicated, which has since been confirmed as resolved by Stewie.


- Fixed empty Competition Status panel when there's no active competition on Profiles.
- Fixed alignment of Competition Status panel with Basic Information panel on Profiles.

Although this one was seemingly not reported in the Bugs & Issues forum, an alignment issue in which the Competition Status panel did not align up correctly with Basic Information has been resolved by the developers. Additionally, the Competition Status panel will no longer display as empty when there is not a current competition in progress.


- Fixed issue with racing timer synchronisation and animation start on Racing.

This issue was presumably resolved by Love__Intent after this report by Niflhel.


- Fixed participants counter not updating when new drivers enter a race on Racing.

In a report by AcidCypher, it was observed that the racing participants counter did not update each time a new person entered. This has since been resolved by Love__Intent.


- Fixed custom races showing as expanded on tablet view on Racing.

This issue was resolved by Love__Intent after this report by Stewie.


- Fixed issue with attacking active effects when auto-leave option used in a group attack.

aurel1 resolved this issue after this report by FidelCashFlow.


- Fixed issue accessing security panel with passwords containing certain characters.

This issue was resolved presumably after this bug report by Pi77Bull who found themselves unable to access their security settings after having changed their e-mail address.


- Fixed 'None' highest bidder being linked on Auction House.

The highest bidder value will no longer be linked if this is "None" after a report by MikePence. nikitad confirmed this issue to be resolved.


- Fixed issue with duplicate entries on the FAQ on the contact page.

After a report by Lane, a duplicate FAQ question on the Contact page has been removed by Chedburn.


- Fixed issue clicking TORN logo directing to index.php instead of "/" (issue on logout page).

This issue could be seen when clicking on the TORN logo after logging out, causing the user to be directed to a "You are no longer logged in" page, and has since been resolved by the Developers.


- Fixed correct navigation to the appropriate Properties tab after selling a property.

After being reported by WAGABUND, the properties page will no longer default to the 'All Properties' tab after selling a property back to the Estate Agents. From now on, after a property has been sold, you will remain on "Your Properties" if that is the tab you were on previously. nikitad confirmed this issue had been resolved.



Honor Bars


The Honor Bar for the week of 11/02/2020 is "Tornication", which is achieved by logging in on Valentine's Day (February 14).

For the week of 18/02/2020, the honor bar is "Invictus" for successfully defending against someone with double your battle stats.
