Easter Egg Hunt opens at noon on the 5th. Three-week event set to run in spite of global catastrophe. Record total of 26 looks likely to be... beaten. Competition tokens on offer.
Against all medical advice to the contrary, Torn City has decided to press ahead with its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, with festivities set to begin as planned at noon Torn City Time today, the 5th of April.
The Easter Egg Hunt is a long-standing Torn tradition which requires nothing more than a perpetual state of awareness to succeed. All you need to do during the three-week event is play Torn as normal while keeping an eye out for any small, coloured blobs on your screen. If you see a coloured blob and it isn't a piece of cereal stuck to your actual laptop screen, then you should try to click it, as it's likely you've found an Easter Egg!
Easter Eggs have a chance to appear on any Torn page for any player, regardless of the time, date or your dietary requirements. There are nine different coloured eggs in total, and each one of them provides a unique bonus when discovered.

If you're feeling hungry and / or depressed, you can eat your eggs to gain 50 happiness whenever you like! However, if you desire an even greater reward, you should try to collect the full set of nine coloured eggs, as you can exchange these for a Gold Easter Egg over at the Competitions page. Gold Easter Eggs provide 250 happiness when eaten, and if you are exchanging your egg set for the very first time, you will also be rewarded with 20 points and the Good Friday honour bar - a fitting tribute to the death of Jesus, as I'm sure he'd agree.
The Easter Egg competition ends at noon on April 25th, and it is at this point that your egg total will be used to determine how many Competition Tokens you receive - eating or exchanging your eggs does not reduce your score. Last year, you needed to collect at least eleven eggs to place in the top 10% of all egg collectors, and thus receive the maximum of ten tokens.
The record number of eggs collected in one year is 26, which was achieved in 2019 by Adamantium, Celina and RokuVI. Will this score be beaten like delicious yolks this year? Given that everyone is stuck inside staring at a laptop screen, I'd say the chances are somewhere between definite and certain. There are no prizes given out for finishing at the top of the Easter Egg Hunt leaderboard, but the higher you place, the more competition tokens you will receive, and these can be spent in the Token Shop in exchange for honour bars, backgrounds and hairstyles.
The Easter Egg Hunt is a risk-free competition which in which success is not dependent on your stats or ability to stay up all night wired off your t*ts on Red Bull. Other players cannot steal your eggs, so you really have nothing to lose by entering!
