Justice League Begins Monday

Free-to-join player-run racing competition starts 20th April. Two-month event open for registrations until noon on Sunday.
Have you heard about justice? In Torn? YES! Some of us choose this way of lifestyle….well...sometimes. And if you combine this profound, philosophical state of mind with a self-quarantined and idle woman in her best age (cough), what else could be the result other than a brand new player-run racing tournament? I mean, really!

The Justice League Tournament is a two-month racing event run by two Torn players which consists of six individual leagues, each of which will run eight 50-lap races across randomly chosen tracks. Beginning April 20th and running until June 21st, each league's races run weekly on different days and are split according to your driver skill, which must be provided ahead of the competition - you can do this via a screenshot sent privately to Jairyll (me) or LordOfFire.

  • Group one: RS 0-9.99 - Mondays
  • Group two: RS 10-19.9 - Tuesdays
  • Group three: RS 20-29.9 - Wednesdays
  • Group four: RS 30-39.9 - Thursdays
  • Group five: RS 40-49.9 - Fridays
  • Group six: RS 50 and higher - Saturdays

Players are permitted to use any car or upgrade in these races, each of which will be created at 8pm TCT and scheduled to start at midnight TCT. Entry is free to this competition, and the full details of the prizes and point systems will be revealed on the Justice League Tournament official thread shortly.

Neither Torn nor the Torn City Times is involved in the organization of this event, but they have donated some prizes to the prize pool. If anyone else would like to do the same to support this event, you may send your donations to Jairyll, or LordofFire. We are dependent on donations to fund this event, but we have already received so much love in the form of money, donator packs and other items from our community. Every penny donated goes directly back to you, the victorious racers, so we are of course very thankful for every donation, small or large, that reaches us.

Myself and LordOfFire organized this in response to the end of the popular Nightracers series hosted by Triguem. Once that finished, I needed something new, so I felt it was on me to create something myself knowing that the summer URT won't arrive until July. I'm a racing nerd; I need my fix!

As is LordOfFire, who I asked to help me figure out how this thing would work. After a few discussions we had ourselves an equitable concept, and the Justice-League-Tournament (JLT) was born! Most important for us was to create a fair competition, with different leagues for all Torn citizens, supporting the whole diversity of Racing-Skill!

I get very motivated when I'm able to join a race or competition with someone like Data, who is by far the player with the highest Driver Skill in Torn. But I understand it's not very inviting to join a tournament when you know that you have no chance of winning against someone like that - especially if you have to pay to enter. LordOfFire shares this viewpoint.

“My first thoughts were finally a tournament for everyone. And that's also what I like most about it. Everyone has a good chance of winning races and prizes! In addition, it's unlike Torn normally is: (scam)free and honest.”

Our forum thread will provide you with all the information you need, including timetables, your rivals, results, rewards and so on. We will keep you up-to-date and be transparent with all our donations throughout the course of the tournament, we promise!

If you'd like to enter, you have until noon TCT on the 20th of April to do so. Please take a look at the forum thread to answer any questions you may have, and then contact either myself or LordOfFire to register as a participant.

We will publish the names of all participants on the 20th, and the first race of League One will begin on Monday the 21st, followed by League Two on the 22nd, League Three on the 23rd etc etc. Once the six individual leagues have run their full schedule of eight races, a short but intense championship will take place involving all of the league winners, who will then have a chance to win even more!

We can't wait for this event to start. You still have a few days to prepare and race hard, of course! Good luck!

Don´t be like Duke :D
