Find out who has fired 1 million rounds, why Petes are so powerful, who managed 7,400 busts in a year, and which player recently completed a literal lifetime's achievement.
Another month has passed, and once more the Achievements forum has been as busy as ever. We've seen players rank up in battle stats, item collections completed, and a few players called Pete become incredibly powerful. Let's find out who has achieved what this month in our round-up of April's Outstanding Players.
PEPPERED
It did not take long for our first resident to pick up the new Peppered award, which is given to those who have fired 1,000,000 rounds of ammunition. Proxima jumped out and fired the remaining 570,000+ rounds he needed within the next day to obtain this peppered honor. His comment that he “made one, GIANT, omelette,” alluded to his use of The Egg Propelled Launcher to complete his mission with such thrust.
The egg launcher is a heavy artillery weapon with a base rate of fire of 255-555 that can hold 1,000 rounds of ammo in a clip. You will need to be on smoochy terms with one of the weapon holders to borrow one, as there are only four in circulation. There is no doubt that this is the weapon that will help get you this award in the shortest amount of time, however, the Dual SMGs and the minigun are good backups.
I don’t know if Proxima was the first to get the Peppered honor, but I do know he was among the first three. Big_Rico shared the hall of fame listing when he became the 4th person to fire 1 million rounds, and he temporarily held the top spot for rounds fired, ahead of ShuKa, Proxima, and L4suicide. Egg_Rico (courtesy of Franky) or Big_Eggo (courtesy of Stretch) was able to get his hands on The Egg Propelled Launcher as well.
Big_Rico managed to get the weapon up to 100% experience en route to the Peppered honor, adding that a friend helped him to get a bunch of stalemates, and that he fired 558,000 eggs in total at Zachjuv. He also had numerous players purposely lose to him, in order to shoot the additional 133,000 or so eggs needed for the award.
Also coming in hot and peppered in April was xanty. He rented the egg launcher and blasted people with eggs from the farm over 6 days, while his faction chained for part of that time too. This is still an extremely rare honor with only 15 players holding it as of mid-May. I expect the numbers to shoot up in the coming weeks and months as the weapons are passed around. Sharing is caring after all.

POWERFUL PETES
April’s Annihilation honors are brought to you by the Petes. Just have a look at Pete’s thread where you will find many different Pete’s making an appearance and offering their congratulatory remarks. At one point we had three Pete’s in the top 40 for best damage made.
Pete is listed at #25 with a damaging hit of 22,004 - he was at #18 at the time of his achievement post - and managed to achieve this using a Dual SMG, LSD, SMG mastery, Brawn to boost up his meagre 600m Strength stat.
But Pete has been bested by Pete1994, who currently stands at #11 with a damaging hit of 23,446. He borrowed a Dual TMP through his faction and hit a level 9 deserter with very low battle stats to land this impressive damaging hit.
Last to join the Pete party was BIG_PETE who now sits at #33 for best damage made, with a hit of 21,010. The lesson here is don't mess with Pete(s).
DAMAGE DEALERS
Petes weren't the only ones dealing damage in April. Miracle also got his Annihilation merit in April, spraying Leslie in the head with HP ammo loaded into Dual Bushmasters for 15,650 damage. He mentioned that this was one of the merits he wanted most. He doubted his ability to get this award until he learned about the special ammo and was able to get some through his mission rewards.
Jiren was another one who was proud to update their title to Damage Dealer at the end of April, having ditched their previous title as an Egotist. Now ranked #12 thanks to a hit of 22,976, Jiren doubts his ability to get in the top 20 in anything else. He used Dual Uzis, IN special ammo, vicodin, epinephrine, 10 SMG mastery merits and 10 brawn merits. Enjoy your honor Jiren!
If the Annihilation merit for 15,000 damage is out of your reach, then why not try for the Obliteration and Devastation merits for 10,000 and 5,000 damage. Linkguem managed to obtain Devastation with just 269,084 strength, having sprayed 60 rounds of his Dual Uzis to hit ---Pikachu--- in the head for 5106. Linkguem thinks that Devastation might be possible with as low as 30,000 strength, and after Untouchable mentioned that the 10* Gun Shop job special boosts your damage by 10%, we think someone with 30k strength should test this out and let us know.
WAR MACHINE
Another extremely rare honor in Torn is still the War Machine award. In April, we spotted two new members added to the club, having gained 1,000 finishing hits in every category. This award requires you to either pay for a lot of defends, spend a lot of energy in attacks, or just play for a hell of a long time - often it's a combo of all three.
Chigurh finished the 1,000 hand-to-hand finishing hits in April to complete the final category for War Machine. If this award had been released earlier, he may have been the first to achieve it, given that the unarmed category was the last one to be introduced and tracked. Nonetheless, Chigurh is one of the pioneer War Machines out there, and he is well-deserving of this rare honor.
Jani took a slightly different route to the War Machine honor. Having started April with under 1,000 defends, she spent most of the month unarmored, having calculated she needed roughly 428 defenders per day over a 21-day period to reach 10,000 defends. Now known in the city as a Nudist, Jani jumped to #3 rank in unarmored fights won as a result of her armorless run.
The icing on the cake was Jani's use of all the different weapon types in her inventory during all the defends, which earned her the super ultra mega rare merit in War Machine at the end. “What a month!”, Jani exclaimed, and we cannot help but agree. As of May 13 she has defended her way into the top 20 HOF for defends with 13,370 defends.
RESPECT
Attacking is not all just for personal glory and awards. In April, Torn saw a major war announcement, as NS gave notice to CR that they were coming to war over the very lucrative $200m a day racket - the same racket that CR recently took from PT.
The notice was given, the forum war commenced, and the territory war followed. Not only did NS win the territory and the racket, but two of their members also earned the Boss Of All Bosses award for earning 100,000 respect for their faction. Droxi and four both crossed over the mark, with Droxi achieving this at over 3,100 days of age, and four doing so at over 5,100 days. This is one of those long term game achievements you love to see, so congratulations to both on serving their factions so well!
EDUCATED
Thousands of citizens have completed the full circuit of courses in the local college, so it is not a rare treat like many of the previously mentioned deeds. However, it does require being an active citizen, and if I remember correctly, it takes upwards of six years to complete all the courses - although there are numerous ways to reduce one’s education time, so many do complete it sooner.
We can celebrate with seochogu for completing all his education courses this April at 1,620 days. This is a big moment for a lot of players. It can mean being able to utilize 55 merits for other purposes with a merit reset. It can mean no longer having to rehab at a certain time to avoid getting kicked out of class. Lastly, it can simply be just one more thing to not have to keep up with anymore.
BUST A MOVE
Wolverine wondered if anyone had busted 10,000 people from jail before age 1,566, which he mentioned he had done in his thread. Harley shared a link from a previous thread which showed that OneArmedHermit had done this in 1,499 days, but Kidnapped suggested that the most impressive part of Wolverine's achievement was doing over 7,400 busts in the last year, which is over 20 busts a day!
I was also chasing the 10k busts honor during this time and I noticed Wolverine zoom past me in April as he hit the landmark before I did. Back in May 2019, I had a little over 8,290 busts and Wolverine had just 2,824 busts, but once he got going this was a man on mission, and there was no slowing him down until he reached 10,000. The HOF leaderboard shows that 203 people currently have 10,000 or more busts as of mid-May. Wolverine may not have been the quickest to achieve this, but his 12-month run of busts is mightily impressive.
KILL STREAK
We have a couple of new members in the Top 3 HOF for killstreaks. Vasto-Lorde famously claimed the #1 spot with a kill streak of 8,989 last month, but we also have a new #3 in the form of Ara, who hit a kill streak of 8,168. By the looks of it, Ara was attempting to break the kill streak record too, but their streak ended in the middle of April. We may never know whether it was a random attack or a sneak attack.
Do you want to try to make it into the top 10 kill streak yourself? It is no easy task, and it might cost you a few billion if you pay for defends. You may have to avoid the spotlight and escape notice too. Torn citizens would certainly be impressed if someone achieved it without paying for defends for most of it, much like DrGonzo did. But even if you do pay for it, you will still need some luck and fortunate circumstances on your side.
Vasto-Lorde got the eye of an onlooker at one point during his streak but they were nice and decided not to break it. If you decide to go for it, don’t tell anyone, not even your factionmates. Wait until you have done the deed before making it known. We recently witnessed a similar instance of one shouting their achievement a bit too early, claiming a couple billion in stock gains before they actually sold the stock, and their gains at that time were not realized.

For those of you who can only dream of such a streak, getting the Kill Streaker honor of 500 is still a massive achievement. The general consensus is to go after this honor early on in your Torn life when you are less well known. Fewer players take the hard route and go for a high killstreak with attacks, though, as paying for defends is the easier and quicker way.
But even with paid defends you're still not guaranteed a result. Nemesis, who has become a spokesperson and leader for the MMCP faction of late, was in that boat. His high enemy count and regular hospitalizations prevented him getting the Kill Streaker honor for a long time, but after biting his tonge for a while his 500 streak was finally earned in mid-April - he has since resumed his normal habits and unbitten his tongue.
BATTLE STATS
There are quite a few rising stars breaking the 1 billion battle stat barrier at the moment, and Dalzadar was added to this list when he passed the mark in April at 424 days. With a nearly 2.5 xanax per day habit, over 1,500 boosters used, and a high net worth, he will surely continue to make giant strides in increasing his battle stats and presence in Torn City.
Jesus also celebrated surpassing 1b dexterity in April. If you pay attention to the general discussion forum, you surely would have noticed him being highly ranked among the top SSL users. His stat build has him in the top 60 SSL users approximately ranked by battle stats. And as a friendly gesture, Destroys sent him a parachute to celebrate his achievement.
Getting to 1b battle stats can seem like it takes a lifetime for some. In most cases though, the time it takes to go from 1b to 2b is much quicker than getting to your first billion in battle stats. In April we heard the news of 2 ladies reaching the 2b total battle stat mark, PrincessJulie and Kelsie. Julie pulled off the increase from 1 to 2b in 8 months, and Kelsie took about 11 months to gain that additional 1b in battle stats.
Both ladies said that copious amounts of attacking slowed down their battle stat growth, but they now appear to be eagerly moving on towards the three billion mark. I am excited to follow their progression. Will they manage to break into the 3b range by years end?
MORE BATTLE STATS
A popular goal among players today is to see how effectively you can use one of Torn's books, by tracking your stat gains within the month it is in effect. SinCitySinner began on March 27 with 10m speed, but managed to reach 120m by using "Speed 3 - The Rejected Script", which increases speed gym gains by 30% for 31 days. He admits he could've done even better if he'd gone all out, and if he hadn't had to deal with three Xanax ovedoses and a faction chain.
Andyman's Guide explains how to use your books most efficiently, and is something you should definitely read before you accidentally waste one. Here's an example of the kind of information you need to maximise Speed 3.
“Obtain Sports Sneakers if possible! I typically recommend working in a Fitness Center while training on this book and taking +120 Feather Hotel Coupons over the 31 day period. You should have the MCS dividend block. You should plan to take at least 85 Xanax during these 31 days and utilize Strippograms or fly to rehab to maintain high levels of happiness if you overdose.”
Derivative had similar success in April. He used Gym Grunting - Shouting To Success, which provides a boost to strength gains at the gym. Derivative started the journey on March 27th with just under 13m strength, but he was able to utilize boosters with daily FHCs, Xanax, and point refills to end his 31 days with over 200m strength. If he used 4x FHCs per day for the full 31 days, that would've cost him $1.488 billion - not everyone can afford this!
Next, we have MightyGoober. He used the same 30% strength gain book in April and was able to gain 282m strength. This was done about as efficiently as one can, as he also utilized the Fitness Center job perk for an additional 3% strength training gain, along with the job points for strength. His faction perk enabled a 48-hour booster cooldown, and MightyGoober used a total of 132 FHCs during the book’s usage.
A COLLECTION AMONG COLLECTIONS
What does one do when they already have a substantial and well-known collection of rare Torn goodies? They go out and add more to it! In early April, pokey477 stated his collection is finally complete after he acquired St. Pauls Abbey, which is one of the few auction era unique properties. This makes him the first and only person to have owned all six items from the 2011-2012 auctions, with St. Pauls costing him a cool $70 billion to acquire.
Pokey's collection also includes one each of the five Dual SMGs, which were auctioned off around the same time as the unique properties. In addition, he has the Bunny Suit, of which there are only 7 in circulation, and one of the four Egg Propelled Launchers. Collections that match this are nonexistent, or far and few between, but even though his thread was titled, “150 Billion Dollar Collection! Finally Completed,” I can't help wonder what will be next in this man’s radar. If history tells us anything, it is that pokey477 sets his goals high and he gets there.
THIS MONTH'S HOP
Has anyone wondered what a lifetime achievement in Torn would look like? I could see it being given to those special players who have earned all 240 in-game Medals, among which are some of the long term medals that take years of activity and dedication to achieve. In fact, you can’t even get all the medals unless you have been here for 10 years, reached level 100, and held $100b for 112 days. And those are just the minimum among many other achievements that are outstanding by themselves.
Here is the full list of what it takes to earn all 240 medals.

There are only a handful of players to have achieved this over the years, and in April Jimmy007 became one of them. Aged over 5,300 days, Jimmy007 finalized his medal collection with the Tycoon medal to add to the 239 he'd already achieved. Jimmy007 thinks it would be epic if there was an honor bar added for obtaining all the medals. I don’t know if Ched would add this as an honor, but I may (personally) be more inclined to go wreck my nerve bar in favor of getting the remaining drug deal medals.
Anyway, I think many forum-goers could actually hear the huge sigh of relief and glee that Jimmy007 let out as he rejoiced in seeing no more awards to unlock at the bottom of the Medals section. Congratulations Jimmy007. There may not be an honor bar for it, but this truly is a lifetime achievement.
POST YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS!
After several months of the outstanding player award articles, hopefully, you lovely readers are getting a good glimpse of what we regularly see in the Achievements forum. I encourage you all to continue reading and encouraging other’s achievement threads and posting your own achievements in the forum, because not only is it a great way to engage with the community, you also stand a chance of winning four donator packs if you're picked as the winner of our HOP.
Next month, I will likely cover the achievement threads from both April and May for the posts about getting a number of awards by a certain age, since I was not able to include them in this month’s article. Additionally, for May, I will be looking out for some new topics to cover so that I am not repeating the same topics over and over from previous months.
ALL-TIME ACHIEVEMENTS
Because these outstanding player awards articles are solely based on what has been posted recently, we realised we're missing quite a few amazing achievements from before the HOP began. There has been a lot accomplished over the years in Torn City and we want to showcase that, so we're going to produce an all-time achievements award article in the near future.
If you'd like to suggest an all-time outstanding achievement from before 2020, please send a message to Sugarvalves, Andyman, or myself.

Derivative had similar success in April. He used Gym Grunting - Shouting To Success, which provides a boost to strength gains at the gym.
