Find out what Aunty knows about Jimmy Two-Shins, what it takes to become a staffer, and why there's hope for revivers yet in Aunty Torn's latest advice column.
Your eyes do not deceive you. Aunty Torn has returned from her self-imposed quarantine to answer more of your burning questions. I'm sure you'll understand that Aunty had to stay at home shielding for a couple of months while things calm down. Aunty has become quite fond of breathing over the years and has no intention of stopping just because some people can't bring themselves to wear a mask at the grocery store. She said there were people like this during the Spanish Flu, but back then the solution was more elegant - they were shot.
Anyway, with her lungs operating at full capacity, here are this month's queries and quandaries, followed by Aunty Torn's words of wisdom.

Dear Aunty Torn,
When staff applications open I'm going to be applying but the issue is I kinda need a rep boost. Any ideas on how?

Hello!
Torn's Community Manager Bogie has said he is willing to answer any questions about staff applications if you want to inbox him, so he should be your first port of call, given he makes the decision on who to hire!
While Aunty has no involvement in the official process, I think applying for staff is a noble ambition. It’s important for Torn to bring in hard-working, dedicated, open-minded and fair people into the staff roles. I would encourage you to build a reputation as a helpful and balanced personality, which you can do by answering questions in the Q&A forum and not causing too much drama. Be sure to be honest in the application about your intentions and how much time you can dedicate to the role, and if you get it, try to stay positive, it certainly can be a thankless job!
Take care,
Aunty

Dear Auntie Torn,
So it is looking like mom (Honey Badgerz) and dad (Honey Badgers GW) are splitting up. I am unsure of who to pick and was wondering if you could help me choose. Mom is going to focus on nurturing and make sure I grow up strong (training), while dad's going the fun route letting me pick on other kids and bully them (chaining).
I need Auntie Torn's help on deciding for I love them both dearly.
Thanks,

Hello,
Aunty has missed the boat on this one, but for anyone who faces this dilemma in future, Aunty thinks balance is key! If both groups offer you the community you desire, you’ll have to find a way to balance warring and training. Training for too long can lead to inactivity, but warring constantly is costly and can burn you out.
It’s always good to have a bit fun bullying other factions in wars but it’s okay to be a little selfish with your growth. In the end, this allows you to contribute more to your faction and other players. Whatever you chose, just do your best to not be passive in your role, actively contribute to making your faction better. This will help you grow as a person and help your faction grow in the long run!
Good luck,
Aunty

Dear Aunty,
What do you know about Jimmy Two-Shins? Do you even live in the city? I tried to find you to ask some questions but couldn't find you? What do you think the future of this city will look like, will more strangers such as Jimmy Two shins be arriving, will they too bring change to the city as Two Shins has with the true history of Torn city.
Greetings,
PurpleRoman
PurpleRoman,
Aunty isn't listed in the phone directory because she's had too many nuisance calls from heavy breathers asking what she's wearing. Thankfully they seem to have stopped since Evil-Duck left, but I'm not taking that chance again.
As for Jimmy Two-Shins, he got his name after one of his shins was shot off, which earned him the name Jimmy One-Shin. Then he lost his other shin in a game of shin-kicking, so his name was changed to Jimmy No-Shins. Thankfully, restorative surgery meant that both of his shins were repaired a few years later, which led to his nickname being updated to Jimmy Two-Shins.
The Duke told Aunty that he found Jimmy advertising his services on Craigslist, and Aunty has heard rumors that Shirley Calabrese has hired a few more goons from the site just recently. There's one particularly dashing chap from South America that Aunty has taken a liking to, especially given that his nickname suggests he's quite the talented lover.
Yours erotically,
Aunty

Dear Aunty,
The reviving wars are growing between factions and costs are getting so low they are dying. What used to be 950k a revive is now getting as low as 400k with many experienced revivers struggling to make ends meet. Why do some people not want to be revived?

Hello,
Aunty has heard about this, and some say it's only going to get worse now that the 5 energy cost for an empty wall slot has been introduced. The two main factors are that there are a lot of people going for revive merits and are willing to revive for almost no cost (at a huge detriment to gaining war stats). The second part could be the lack of real territory wars that generate those big revive bills.
The new changes Torn has made are intended to increase the overall number of wars though, and they've promised further changes might come in future too. So hopefully, while the wall energy cost might mean a further price drop in the short-term, the long term goal of Torn is to have so many wars that revivers should never be short of work. Let's hope that happens!
Good luck,
Aunty

Dear Aunty,
I love all my faction mates very much. In fact, I want to meet them in real life. I'm all ready to organise a meeting, but has it ever been done before? Is it good to organise one?
Thanks.
Hello,
Aunty has heard of people meeting up in RL - some people have even gotten married to someone they met on Torn! In all honesty, the middle of a pandemic might not be the best time to arrange a meet-up, as you won't get a good turnout. But if you decide to ignore Aunty and risk the lives of those you love, make sure you follow social distancing guidelines at the very least! And don't go spitting on the ground like a cowboy either.
When you do organise a meet, the important thing is to respect people’s privacy and make sure the initial meetings take place in open places with others around. After you’ve developed close enough relationships with others, do as you please, but you should always be careful and safe. And if you are the organizer, it is your job to ensure that everyone else does the same!
Good luck,
Aunty

That's it for this month folks! Thank you to Aunty Torn for giving us her time, and to all of our readers for writing in with their questions. Everyone whose letter has been published will be sent a Donator Pack shortly. If you'd like to ask Aunty a question, you can do so by sending her a message titled Aunty Torn via the Tell Your Story feature.
