As anyone who read the previous article by PrincessJulie will know, Torn Stats has been around for almost seven years now. With such time come changes and improvements, and now it’s finally happening; Torn Stats is being rebuilt from the ground up! Over the last couple of months, I have been updating the legacy code across the whole website, and a small group of dedicated beta-testers have worked tirelessly tobreak things report errors and suggest features they wanted to see in the rebuild.

With this rebuild you can expect to see new and improved versions of all your old favorites, including the personal stats and faction members pages, as well as many new features that will hopefully become your new go-to’s. Some improvements won’t be obvious upon your first use of 2.0, however, such as the new, much more secure, authentication system. So to keep you informed as to what is coming your way, here is a list of all the changes you can expect from Tornstats 2.0.
NEW FEATURES
Titles tracker!
To many players, the actions required to change your title are not immediately apparent. Now, you will be able to see a table that indexes your rank in each of the 39 of the 46 rankable title stats. At a glance, you will be able to see where you need to concentrate your efforts to get the title you have been coveting.
Subfactions
New integrations allow greater sharing between Faction Families. A faction leader can now create a family and invite other faction leaders to join; this is done with an invite system that expires to maintain the security of the Family. Once you’re a member of a Family, the leader will be able to choose whether they want to share their member’s stats with the entire Family or not. However, spies will be integrated and shared amongst the entire Family, using the most recent spy entry for everyone. This also means that anyone who enters a spy during this time will enter a spy for all the factions in the Family if a faction were to ever leave said Family.

Faction Member Overview
The faction page has a new tab where you can get a table view of every member in your faction and whether or not they fulfill the most common faction requirement metrics. At a glance, you can see who is or isn’t a donator and what property type they are living in.
Tornipedia
The Tornipedia is a searchable glossary of Torn’s various acronyms, initialisms, slang terms, and more. We have already built up a collection of over 200 terms to begin with, and this will gradually be added to over the coming months. Players will eventually be able to submit their own terms and definitions to the Tornipedia once we’ve covered most of the obvious entries, but in the meantime, you can make content suggestions via Andyman’s forum thread, which Sugarvalves will use to manually update the Tornipedia for the time being.
UPDATES
Faction Competitions
Competitions have always been an underutilized feature, but the new set up will hopefully make them much more useful. Now, in addition to having data from the beginning and end of the competition, you can update the data multiple times without having to end and restart. This feature will help keep track of whether or not your faction members are fulfilling your requirements. You just need to start a comp, select your requirements from the various personal stats tabs, and run it. From there, you can choose when to request an update, or when to finalize the competition and mark it as complete. Each update will compare the difference between the current update to the beginning of the competition.
Faction Permissions
The faction permission system has been completely rebuilt. Due to this, the old permissions don’t carry over from the old system. However, this new system is far easier to expand upon if or when that need arises. This update also comes with a feature to include default faction permissions for new members, in addition to a ‘select all’ option, which allows you to easily update everyone in the faction at once.
Item Market Listings (now with personalized links!)
To ensure the best experience for you, I consulted with some top traders to learn what they look for in an item market spreadsheet so everyone can have access to the most wanted features. What we came up with is a customizable landing page with dynamic pricing based on a few of the lowest-priced bazaars every 6 hours averaged over the last week. This feature enables you to add in your desired markdown from the market price as well as a maximum buy price, and your listing will automatically adjust according to current market conditions - a system which is resistant to those who would attempt to manipulate the market pricing.
Companies (multiple directors, efficiency checker)
There are two major changes to the companies’ section. The first affects everyone, as you can now copy and paste anyone’s work stats into the text box on the Position Efficiency page and see how they stack up in any company. If you want to restrict it to one kind of company, start typing the company or position into the search bar and it will filter the table.
The other huge change is that you can now add multiple directors to a single company. This will revolutionize the running of companies that are being run jointly or are owned by someone who isn’t the director on Torn. Now, anyone who is a designated director can invite other users to join them as a director of your company on Torn Stats. This will allow directors to add as many or as few users as they like to view their company history and employee stats, and provide direct assistance with regards to its setup. These permissions are granted via an expiring invite system whereby a link is generated that can then be shared with one other user per invite link.
Player graphs reworked!
The player graphs you all know and love have been reworked to provide you with a better experience. In addition to being able to see your own highlighted ranking, you can now browse the top 10,000 for each stat. You can also link directly to a personal stat for easier reference and bragging!
Stock Overview
The new Benefit Block page in the Stocks Overview section will make it easier for you to see how much a block of stock costs and which benefits you are currently receiving. Hovering over a block will tell you what the benefit is, and how many shares you need to own to receive it.
The Market Overview page will let you quickly see which stocks are in the highest demand and what their forecast is.
Coming Soon™
There are additional planned features and upgrades in the pipeline, including better tools to help Organized Crime management, and many other items on my list that I’m not ready to expose yet. There are old features in need of some love too, such as the Respect Simulator and the Booster Calculator pages, but they’re all on the list to be moved over to this entirely new system.
With all of that said, I’m excited to announce the launch of the public beta for Torn Stats 2.0. This site will run in parallel to the old site for the indefinite future, allowing you access to the original tools if you prefer them. However, if you would like to see what it is all about, head on over to the new site found at https://beta.tornstats.com

If you already have an account on the live site, you’ll need to know your email address. If you don’t know that, log in to your old account and check your settings to make sure it’s up-to-date. Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to reset your password using the new site as it’s using an entirely new authentication system. Once you’ve received your email with a link to reset your password, you’ll be able to use that and your email address to log in to the new website. (Of course, with this, if you ever decide to log back into the old site, you’ll need to reset your password using the original system for the same reason.)
