Find out how you can win big this weekend by betting on the URT final, entering one of our open prize races, or by signing up to Prezze's Wreckfest, a new tournament which begins next week!
Summer's Ultimate Racing Tournament draws to a close this weekend, and with its conclusion come a series of public races where you, yes you, can win a range of exciting prizes for finishing in random positions. But before we tell you how you can enter and what you can win, here's an update on how the URT has gone so far, and which drivers are in with a chance of winning the much-coveted Bugatti Veyron in Sunday's grand finalé.

Thank you to Indolent for creating a fantastic set of graphics for this year's URT, which we've used to illustrate this article.

GROUP STAGE

The group stage of the URT ended last Sunday, with Group A seeing Ketone, Solenoid and Stormcast progress. Dblcork can be proud of their performance though, as despite being the third-lowest ranked driver in the competition, they still managed a respectable haul of 4 points thanks to a fantastic victory in race 2 at the Docks.

Group B saw Bjornik outpoint our 2019 Summer URT Champion ChristmasBazaar to claim top spot, despite being nearly 20 Racing Skill behind him. Captive managed to take third in this group thanks to two solid victories at Mudpit and Speedway, but once more the underdog impressed, as Kobie grabbed two podium positions despite being the lowest-ranked driver in the URT with an RS of just 11.

Group C saw another slight upset as Dunmugmeh, with an RS of 33.2, took top spot ahead of Archimede, whose RS is 54.1. These two have form in the URT, with Dunmugmeh coming sixth in the 2019 Winter Rally, and Archimede finishing fourth in this year's edition. The pair were joined by our Summer 2018 runner-up Tyrion, who managed to hit the podium in four of the six races and secure his place in the quarters. He did so at the expense of Krachas, who actually won one race at the Docks, despite being the URT's sixth-lowest ranked driver.

In Group D Bronx and Nath ended in 1st and 2nd respectively on 9 points, and both Whatthefoxsay and YOUROWNER finished with 6 apiece. Both Bronx and Nath had two race wins and two second-places each, but the former's average position of 2.5 meant they took top spot ahead of Nath, whose score was 2.8. Group steward Whatthefoxsay qualified in third due to their solitary race win at Vector, whereas YOUROWNER had no race wins, only three second-place finishes. The biggest shock from this group was that second-ranked ToxicMonkeyMZC failed to qualify, having only scored points at the Docks (1st) and Speedway (3rd). ToxicMonkeyMZC was a finalist in both of the two previous Summer URTs, and he finished in the top ten of our last two Winter Rally events.

Group E saw another giant fall as 2020's Winter Rally runner-up the_gunners2004 failed to qualify. He was beaten into fourth thanks to a last gasp victory at Hammerhead by Lindy_Lyson, who famously won the inaugural URT back in 2018 with a 100% race win record. Donco took second in Group E behind JCaine, with the latter being one of just five out of forty-eight drivers to achieve a podium in every single race.

Top-ranked driver Data will be hoping to finally get his hands on a Bugatti after he topped Group F with 11 points. Data was the runner-up in both the 2019 Summer URT and this year's Winter Rally, and he also came third in the 2019 Winter Rally too. Behind him in second was Dilandu, 4th in the 2019 Winter Rally, who overcame some bad luck early on in this tournament to register two victories and a total of 10 points. Rogue pipped Jokar to third thanks to their third-place finish in the final race at Hammerhead, and despite failing to qualify, both Jokar and Wyldchyld impressed with victories at Speedway and Docks respectively.

Gorgor won Group G with 9 points, placing ahead of NNWS on the same total thanks to their three race victories at Docks, Mudpit and Speedway. If Gorgor keeps this record up he has to be in contention for the Soybean award, with his Racing Skill of 26.2 making him our 36th-ranked driver. With an RS score of just 20.5, Excomantia is another low-ranked driver to make it through after they leapfrogged Tarun in the final race at Hammerhead thanks to their second-place finish. Bblake17, who was 7th in the 2019 Winter Rally, was another high profile driver who failed to make it through.

Group H was dominated by Ruler, who finished a full five points ahead of any other driver. Mathematics' two race wins at Docks and Speedway helped to see them through in second, but the biggest news was the elimination of our 2020 Winter Rally champion, Hammer. Cheekym0nkey and Hammer finished dead level on 6 points each, but the former's solitary race victory was enough to see them through. Cheekym0nkey has impressive form in previous URTs, having finished 8th in the 2019 Winter Rally.

QUARTER-FINALS

All of our quarter-finals took place at Industrial, and were run over 20 laps instead of the usual 10 used during the group stage. Our highest-ranked qualifier was Data (1), whereas our lowest was Excomantia (41). In QF1, Christmasbazaar (3) went through alongside JCaine (7) and Tyrion (17). Ketone (19), Excomantia (41), and Dilandu (8) were eliminated.

Quarter-final 2 saw Data (1) continue his bid for a first URT title as he qualified in first position. He was joined by NNWS (11) and Cheekym0nkey (31). The drivers eliminated were Bjornik (15), our URT race steward Whatthefoxsay (29), and Archimede (9).

In quarter-final 3, Stormcast (5) was victorious in his pursuit of owning yet another Bugatti Veyron. Dunmugmeh (24) came in second, with Nath (6) joining the pair in third. Former champion Lindy_Lyson (13) was eliminated, along with Gorgor (36), and Mathematics (27).

In our fourth and final quarter-final, Bronx (16) was joined by ruler (18) and Donco (28) as our last three semi-finalists. Captive (23), Solenoid (14), and Rogue (12) were eliminated.

SEMI-FINALS

Data now looks to be the favourite for the URT if his form is anything to go by. In semi-final 1, our top-ranked driver won his second consecutive knockout race to make it through to Sunday's final at Stone Park. After 20 laps at Uptown, Ruler joined Data in the final and was followed one second later by Christmasbazaar. Dunmugmeh, Tyrion and Cheekym0nkey will now compete in Saturday's runner-up race to decide their final tournament placings.

Semi-final 2 saw JCaine land themselves a final spot, as they finished one second ahead of second-placed Stormcast. And there was less than a second's difference between third and fourth too, with Bronx narrowly edging out Nath to make it through to the main event. Nath will be joined by NNWS and Donco in Saturday's runner-up final.

FINAL WEEKEND

The URT final weekend will see our six losing semi-finalists face off against each other at 10pm on Saturday the 15th to determine their final placings. The grand final will kick off 24 hours later at 10pm on Sunday, with our six drivers competing for the Bugatti Veyron, billions in prize money, and a unique racing trophy to boot. BET ON THE URT

With a $10 million limit still imposed on the Torn Bookies, why not satiate your desire to gamble big money by placing a bet on the URT final via the URT Betting House. The maximum bet allowed by the house is $100 million, and you can gamble on several aspects of the final two races, from the top two and the outright winner through to the number of lead changes in the final.

Here are the current odds for each of our finalists and runner-up drivers to win their respective races outright.

Betting on the URT final is as simple as visiting the thread linked above, posting your bet in the thread, and sending the money to Digger67. The Betting House is a non-profit feature of the URT, as Digger67 explains below.

"Back before URT gained ground, there was a betting house for the PRC. The money then went to the drivers (sponsors) as it will now. Because back then, it was players who donated money to the winners. This was another way to boost those winnings. So yes, I do risk going upside down on these bets. This is why there are many bet tables offered with wide spreads."

"The more action we see in the house, the greater and steeper odds can be offered. The whole point of the Bet House is not to make the players rich, it's to have fun while giving to the racers. To engage the community in an event. To drive more people into a niche field and accelerate its growth. And besides, it's not like they can go into the torn casino to drop 100m on ANY bets. Get yo fix here."

WRECKFEST

If the finalé of the URT is going to leave a racing-shaped hole in your life, why not enter Prezze's Wreckfest, a unique racing tournament where drivers face each other in a series of 1v1 encounters.

This competition requires drivers to coordinate with their opponents to set up their own races, making this a great way to find other members of the racing community to engage with. Over $750 million in prize money has been donated to the event so far, with racers of all levels encouraged to join in - Prezze has even specifically requested more low-level drivers to sign up.

Players can see the signup criteria on Prezze's Wreckfest Thread linked here. Signups close after Sunday the 16th of August.
