Energy boost event goes live on Wednesday. Double energy provided by all cans. Event lasts for 48 hours.
The CaffeineCon 48-hour bonus event returns on Wednesday the 14th of October, during which all energy drinks will provide twice as much energy as usual.

Last year's inaugural CaffeineCon marked the release of three new low-energy cans; Crocozade, Goose Juice, and Damp Valley. Tens of thousands of these energy-boosting beverages were given away for free via the CaffeineCon promotional page, and this year is absolutely not the same, which you will have just discovered if you clicked that link before reading to the end of this sentence.

No additional cans will be given out during this year's CaffeineCon, with only the double energy boost remaining to mark this event. This change has infuriated freeloaders everywhere, with some referring to CaffeineCon as CaffeineCon, with the word Con underlined so as to make their point crystal clear.

But the absence of free stuff does not make CaffeineCon a pointless event, as the double energy boost to cans is an extremely useful perk if you're chaining or training. This is doubly true - quite literally - if you are under the influence of another energy can boost from a book, job special, or faction special, as these bonuses are applied first before being doubled by CaffeineCon.

Fuelling Your Way to Failure is the book you want to use during this event, as it doubles the energy provided by energy drinks for 31 days. When combined with CaffeineCon players can enjoy a 4x boost. Alternatively, if you have the book Self Control Is For Losers, you can use this to reduce your consumable cooldowns by 50% - this figure does not double for CaffeineCon.

The energy drink branch of the Voracity Faction perk adds a 5% increase in the energy gained from cans for every upgrade unlocked, up to a maximum of 50%. This means that with all of the Voracity energy drink upgrades unlocked, players can get a 3x boost to cans during CaffeineCon. And even if you haven't got the full branch unlocked, a chain will still be cheaper for your members if they use up some of their cans to achieve it.

A similar boost is provided by certain job specials, with the Grocery Store 7-star Absorption perk giving you a 10% boost to all consumables - increased to 20% during CaffeineCon. This firm also provides a 10% consumable cooldown reduction at 3-stars, but this is not doubled during CaffeineCon. Restaurants provide a higher consumable cooldown reduction of 25%.

Here is a list of all of the existing cans plus their CaffeineCon energy value per point of energy, and the updated cost of the energy they provide during the event. To the best of my knowledge, these prices were accurate as of Monday morning - although I was distracted by Coco Pops.

FHCs are often used to supplement the energy provided by Xanax to avoid reaching your drug cooldown quicker, or once you've already passed it. People plump for FHCs over cans because they refill your energy bar entirely, as you can use four per day to gain 600 energy. Cans only rival FHCs if you drink the maximum of twelve 30 energy cans in a day with the Voracity perk enabled, as this gives you 540 energy for a lower cost.

During CaffeineCon, the consumption of twelve 30 energy cans such as X-MASS will provide you with 720 energy at a cost of $71,667 per point, compared to FHCs $88,000 per point (current price per FHC is $13.2m). This means that for 48 hours, Cans outperform FHCs in terms of both price and energy provision. Got it? Lovely. Here are some graphs from iribuya on this subject.

Wasn't it nice of him to provide us with all that? Furthermore, iribuya informs me that if you have the max Voracity perk, work in a restaurant, and you use the double energy book during CaffeineCon, you can gain a maximum of 11,340 during the 48-hour event. That's some serious juice right there! If you're chaining or training this week, it's time to get busy with the fizzy during CaffeineCon 2020!

tl;dr: Energy Drinks provide double energy from noon 14th-16th October.
