Massive prizes offered for brand new Christmas Town Make A Map Competition. Find out how to enter and which stupidly expensive item we're giving away as the top prize!
There are just over two months until Christmas Town opens. If this comes as a shock to you, then welcome to 2020 - the year that time said: “naa, f**k it”.
But why are we talking about CT when we’ve only just had World Egg Day, you might ask? The answer is simple. Two months may seem a long time, but it will fly quite quickly if you’re busy making a custom Christmas Town map. And why would I want to do that, you might ask again? You’re rather inquisitive, aren’t you? The answer to this question is also simple:
To win a Gold AK.
Yes, that’s right, we’ve lost our god damn minds and decided to run a Christmas Town map making competition with a $25 billion Gold AK as the grand prize. This particular Gold AK was confiscated from the haul of illicit items owned by itsZahid, the former leader of the now-deleted Unrelenting faction who was banned from Torn earlier this year forbeing a c**t having multiple accounts.
Ever since itsZahid and his imaginary brothers were fedded, his Gold AK47 has been sat collecting dust in the Hamster’s inventory. Since players like itsZahid take so much from Torn by spoiling the game with multis, we decided it would be fitting if the Gold AK was given to a player who worked hard to put something back into the game for the enjoyment of others. Thanks a lot, Santazahid!

The Gold AK isn’t the only prize on offer either. We are giving away another four major prizes in this mapmaking competition, with smaller prizes such as Donator Packs and Goodie Bags set to be given out to the runners-up too. There are no specific categories in this competition, we are simply asking you to build a creative Christmas Town map that isn’t a simple loot run like most of the others. Here are the competition specifics.
Make a creative Christmas Town map using the official MAP EDITOR.
Post a link to your map in the Community Events Map Making thread.
Existing maps can be entered, so long as they meet the entry criteria.
Your map should be no smaller than 100x100 tiles, give or take (the judges' discretion will be applied).
The map should be creative in its design, and take players on an adventure, story, or otherwise interesting experience. No boring loot runs!
Please do not include anything which breaches the Torn rules, or your entry will be disqualified.
One entry per person. Players may work together on a map but only one prize will be given per map.
Entries close at midnight on Sunday 10th of January, 2021.
Five winners ranked in order will be chosen by a team of judges. The winner will receive the Gold AK, with the remaining four allowed to pick from the following prize pool: Santa Hat ‘04, Christmas Cracker ‘04, Christmas Card ‘09, Christmas Stocking ‘09, Snowflake ‘05.
A selection of players will be sent runner-up prizes at the organisers’ discretion.
If you’ve never made a map before, rest assured that the map editor is relatively straightforward to understand and easy to operate. If you have any trouble, Proxima’s guide is here to help you. These are some of the biggest prizes we’ve ever offered in a Torn City competition, so we are expecting some high-quality entries in response!
And finally, if anyone is annoyed that we’re giving away such expensive items as competition prizes, then let us allay your concerns by revealing that several major items will be auctioned off in early December too. Further details on these auctions will be revealed at the end of this month. And you can also expect several Halloween competitions to be announced next week too, with a few rare items set to be given away via those events also.
