The top three in each event will also take home a unique mask in addition to the usual ribbons and prizes. We will also give out a mask to those who we deem to have made a significant effort in the competition. Here is a list of all of the Halloween competitions we're currently running, along with a few hints and tips on how to impress the judges.

PUMPKIN CARVING

This one is pretty self-explanatory. We want you to carve a pumpkin, and carve it up real good. Torn-themed pumpkins are our favourites, but we'll be equally happy if you present us with a gourd-geous carving of a celebrity or a spookily sliced up squash. The winners of this competition are eligible to pick from the Premium Prize Pool.

TORN MOVIE TRAILER

This is a brand new competition which asks players to create a movie trailer for a horror film based in Torn City. The trailer needs to be less than a minute long, and consist mostly of a voiceover you have written and recorded yourself. You then need to set this to images and videos from the internet, or you can be extra fancy and film some footage yourself with your phone - safely, of course.

We would encourage you to focus on telling an interesting story and delivering a believable voiceover above everything else, but everyone loves a pretty picture to look at. Due to the complex nature of this competition, the top three will get to pick from our Premium Prize Pool.

BEST DRESSED PET

I've never seen a single entry to this competition where the animal in question doesn't look miserable as f**k. We want you to dress up your pets for Halloween, but please make sure they actually enjoy it, as we'll give bonus points for animals that aren't in the midst of an existential crisis. You can achieve this by feeding them treats, dressing them in comfortable clothing, or simply not shaving and dyeing them for internet points.

HALLOWEEN DISPLAY

This one has an open brief which asks for some kind of Halloween display, be it the fully-decorated front of your home, a set of figurines you've painted, or a grotesque gaming set-up you've made especially for spooky-season. Once more, we enjoy displays that are Torn-themed, but this isn't obligatory. Here is an example of some displays from our 2018 Christmas Competition.

HALLOWEEN COSTUME

Another competition that is pretty self-explanatory, we want you to dress up in whatever crap you have laying around your home! Costumes which reflect current events in Torn or the real-world are always fun, but if your entry is creepy, well-presented, or both, it will always stand a chance of victory. The winners of this competition may pick from our Premium Prize Pool.

MS PAINT

We've picked up one of Dexter's old competition ideas from a couple of years ago for this event. We want you to draw a digital image of a Halloween scene which includes four distinct items: a Halloween Basket, a plague doctor, a trout, and a set of bongo drums. A creative interpretation of the brief is key to winning this competition, as well as the obvious digital drawing skill.

Here is Martyr's winning entry from 2018.

HALLOWEEN BAKING

The Halloween Baking competitions are always fun, but this time we've added a new twist to the event. We want you to bake or cook something which depicts someone's face. This person can be famous or a Torn personality, and you can use any edible medium you like, be it cake, biscuit, lasagna, or a side of ham. The winners of this event will get to pick from our Premium Prize Pool.

HALLOWEEN MEME

If you're low on effort, time, and creativity, the meme competition is the event for you. To win this one you simply need to reference recent events in Torn using a fresh meme template. Gif memes are also becoming more popular of late, and several memes in this format placed highly in the recent Elimination Meme competition.

ADDITIONAL MASKS

A small selection of masks may be made available outside of the Community Events on Halloween itself. Further details will be released when you've been good little boys and girls.
