TORN's second-largest racing event, The Justice League Tournament, is back for its first Autumn edition, with registrations open until the 10th of October.
Are you ready to race? The Justice League Tournament is back for another exciting edition of Torn's most inclusive racing event. If you failed to qualify for the summer URT, or you didn't even try because you had no hope, then the JLT is the tournament for you.

What is the JLT?
The Justice League Tournament is a free-to-enter player-run racing tournament open to participants of every skill level. The competition relies on donations to fund its prize pool, but its unique structure gives everyone who enters a chance of winning, as entrants are split between seven leagues based on their Racing Skill, with each league racing once per week over two months to determine who makes it through to the Championship Week.
Those who make it through to Championship Week then race daily over the course of seven days to determine our Justice League Tournament champion. The aim of the JLT is to help turn racing into a viable TORN career path for all players, regardless of ability. You can find a full breakdown of our reward strategy, in the event's official forum thread.
Following on from the success of April's first edition, besides myself, Jairyll, and LordofFire, the Autumn JLT will be run by an additional eight volunteers.
What's new?
The most notable structural change comes in the shape of League #0, a rookie league where class E, D, C, and B racers can duke it out without having to worry about class A speedsters swooping in and stealing all the glory. To ensure a level playing field, all League #0 racers will compete in stock (unmodified) E class cars. Players who qualify from this league will, of course, be allowed to use the best cars they have at their disposal for the Championship Week.
Based on player feedback we've also made the event one week shorter, by virtue of having seven qualification heats instead of eight. Furthermore, due to the unpredictable nature of a single league race-off, we have altered the qualification format for all leagues that are divided into groups (ie. have more than 100 participants). This time around, they will partake in five regular races, after which the top five will race against each other twice. These race-offs will be held on one tarmac and one dirt track, both of which will be selected via RNG. Leagues not divided into groups will partake in 7 regular races.
On the technical side of things, our spreadsheet has also received a major overhaul. We have improved our data population mechanism, which will now rely on IDs, thus preventing any future errors spawned by mid-tournament name changes or misspelt names.
In the interest of transparency, we have also implemented a system for real-time tracking of prize dispensation. This is made possible by a brand new remote back-end ledger, which will log every single award we hand out via our spreadsheet's publicly-viewable donations tab.
How do I register?
In order to register for the tournament, you must provide us with a screenshot of your Racing Skill before Saturday, October 10th at 23:59 TCT. Can I help?
Yes, you can. Since the three of us can't hope to fund the full prize pool of a tournament of such scale alone, we are accepting donations of all forms - money, items and donator packs. 100% of your donations will go towards the competition's prize pool, as evidenced by the event which we held earlier this year. Over the course of the inaugural JLT, we awarded $937,750,638 in cash prizes, 179 items, and 38 donator packs.
Anything else?
Over the Summer, we established a racing discord server, dubbed The Pit Stop, which now boasts more than 250 members, from complete rookies, through up-and-coming stars, all the way to some of TORN's most prolific racing legends.
The Pit Stop is no mere chat room. Besides channels dedicated to JLT, URT and WKT, here you will also find an event calendar bot (with opt-in reminders for every single JLT race), as well as curated indexes of racing guides and scripts, plus an up-to-date list of optimal car setups for each of the city's 16 distinct tracks.
We would love to see you there, as alongside the official JLT thread, this will be the main hub of communication regarding the upcoming tournament.
tl;dr: Registrations for the Justice League Racing tournament are open from 5th-10th October.
