Find out the current top ten leaderboard for Dog Tags 2020 as we enter the final stages of the competition. UPDATE: 10 token cutoff revealed.
There are less than 48 hours to go until the conclusion of Dog Tags 2020, and with first place now a foregone conclusion, the race is on to see whether our runaway leader can set a new record score. Here are the current Dog Tag standings. These scores were correct as of roughly 18:30 TCT on the 23rd of November. Positions from last Tuesday are displayed in parentheses.
1st (1st) - 41,667 points - 1,341 tags
2nd (2nd) - 28,213 points - 839 tags
3rd (3rd) - 23,582 points - 670 tags
4th (4th) - 20,265 points - 701 tags
5th (5th) - 16,183 points - 788 tags
6th (6th) - 15,471 points - 434 tags
7th (7th) - 14,229 points - 666 tags
8th (?) - 13,551 points - 345 tags
9th (9th) - 13,253 points - 505 tags
10th (8th) - 11,315 points - 339 tags
As you can see, there has been very little change in the positions of the top ten, with last week's 8th dropping to 10th, last week's 10th dropping out entirely, and a new player rising up to take eighth position. Interestingly, this new player was in eighth place on the 9th of November when we first checked the scores, but they subsequently fell out of the top ten, only to regain their position with just a day and a half to go.
At the top of the leaderboard, our champion-elect has extended the gap between themselves and second to 13,454 points. Their current score of 41,667 means they need only 1,015 more points to beat the previous record set last year by Penicillin. Will they run out of time and tags? Has their identity been rumbled by their rivals? Will they lose more tags than they gain? I don't know, but I do know that once it's all over, there will be no f***ing recounts.
The gap between second and third has been extended from 2,542 points to 4,631 points, a lead which looks unassailable at this stage of the competition. Likewise, our third-placed player now has a lead of 3,317 points over fourth, and while this has shrunk from 4,432 points since last Tuesday, it looks like it will be enough to seal the bronze dog tag.
The main fight seems to be between those in fifth to ninth, as just 2,930 points separate these positions, with some players only a few hundred points behind their nearest competitor. This gap could easily be bridged if anyone wants to take up Leafeh on her generous offer to sell the four 500 point NPC tags she has in her possession. In fact, so valuable are these tags, that just two of them may be enough to get a tagless player the full total of 10 competition tokens.

We are still waiting for an update on the current cutoff figure for players to achieve 10 tokens. The previously reported total was 996, but we expect this to have increased in the week since it was calculated. We will update this article with the exact figure as soon as it is received. In the meantime, we can report that 507,118 tags have been stolen over the course of this year's competition so far, with last year's record being 511,147. 34,267 users have taken part in 2020 compared to 36,187 in 2019.
UPDATE: Current cutoff for 10 competition tokens is 1,029
And finally, those of you looking to make a late surge will be pleased to know that a total of 7,305 tags have been sent back to their owners - we logged 4,148 returned tags on the 17th of November. Duke has also just returned his tag collection for the third and final time moments ago, so if he nabs your tag before the end of the competition, he's keeping it for the duration - unless someone wants to take it off him!
Dog Tags 2020 ends at noon TCT on the 25th of November.
