Merry Christmas!

A Christmas message from Chedburn.
Merry Christmas to everyone in Torn City! If you're lucky enough to be spending Christmas with your friends and family, then we hope you enjoy the day and wish you the best of luck in trying to convince your crazy Aunt Linda to take the Covid vaccine. If you're spending your Christmas alone due to coronavirus restrictions or a high number of real-life bounties, we hope you'll check in with your Torn family for a chat before you start drinking pints of Egg Nog at 10 am.

If you are going to spend some time in Torn today, why not send someone a random present in an act of kindness? We were heartened to see how many people took part in the gifting task for Duke's Dump Giveaway, and it seems that Duke has repeated this task for Christmas Day too! Send someone a present today and you might just receive a nice little gift of your own! Christmas Crackers will spawn around the city too, in case you haven't found enough in the dump already.

And don't forget that Duke's parcel giveaway is in operation throughout Christmas Day and now Boxing Day too! To receive a random parcel from Duke, all you need to do is send him a certain amount of cash between 00:00 and 23:59 on the 26th of December. The amount of cash required is secret, and while it will probably be posted on the forums at some point, you can try and guess it for yourself using the following clue:

"What day is it eh? One day later than usual I guess."

UPDATE: The code wasn't working this morning, but the person responsible has been beaten into a festive pulp and the parcel giveaway is now fully operational. We've extended the parcel giveaway through to the end of the 26th.

And finally, after an utter a**hole of a year, here is a message of hope and gratitude from Torn's founder, Mr Joe Chedburn.

I know this year has been tough on all of us, but I feel we've gotten through all of it together as a community. There's now light at the end of the tunnel, and things may soon begin returning to normality.

Torn has been very fortunate this year to be in an industry which has greatly benefited from this pandemic, and we've not taken this for granted. We're in a very privileged position where we can actually give back and change the world in our own little way, with donations to hand-selected small charities that appeal to the international community - something that I want to investigate again deeply next year.

From all of us here at Torn, we wish you a very Merry Christmas, a great New Year, and an amazing 2021.
