Find out which Community Events we're running and how you can use them to win a secret exclusive mask!
Would you like to win fabulous prizes? Then why not enter one of our Christmas Community Events which opened for entries late last night! There are seven competitions in total, with two making their debut for the first time, and each one testing a different creative skill. If you can't draw for s**t and your voice sounds like a cat being degloved by a mincing machine, don't worry, we have a wide variety of events for you to take part in.
The top three winners of every Christmas competition will receive one of our rare Christmas giveaway masks that are yet to be released, in addition to the usual ribbons and prizes. And certain events will also pay out gold trophies too, with the paintbrush and microphone awards handed out to the winners of the Christmas Card and Sermon events respectively. Here are all of the competitions we're running this Christmas, along with a few tips on how to win.
CHRISTMAS SERMON
There is always at least one vocal competition posted every season, but whereas most of them involve singing, this one is a little bit different. We want you to write and record a sixty-second sermon for Pastor Hiram Williams to deliver to the people of Torn at Christmas.
You should try to make your sermon sound somewhat religious in tone, with moral lessons forming a key part of your speech. We would also like you to deliver this sermon in the style of an Evangelist preacher to give it some energy. Ideas for topics could include the player's response to Christmas Town and Duke's Giveaway, how we should all behave as we await the Dirty Bomb apocalypse, or the return of Torn's very own anti-christ, Evil-Duck.
NATIVITY SCENE
Our second new event is the Torn Nativity Scene competition, which asks you to construct a physical representation of the traditional nativity if it had taken place in Torn City.
You can create your nativity to any scale you like, from matchbox to shoebox and beyond, but it must include Torn versions of the main characters; Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, along with some or all of the Magi, the animals, the shepherds, the angels, and Dracula. Pretty sure he was in the Bible. We're looking for a creative interpretation of the brief here, along with skilful execution. You may use shop-bought figurines if you wish, but if you do, your stable had better be pretty darn spectacular.

CHRISTMAS TORNAMENT
This competition made its first appearance in 2019, and although we only had a few decent entries, those that won were top notch. To enter, all you need to do is create a Torn-themed ornament for your Christmas tree, then take a picture of it dangling somewhere between your baubles and stars.
Our winner Otter hand-knitted a Gold AK last year, so you'll need to put in a mighty effort if you are to beat that. Your ornament should be Torn-themed, but it doesn't have to have any connection with Christmas whatsoever if you don't want - if it's hung from a tree it's an ornament in my book. You might make a hand-grenade out of papier-mâché, a depiction of Leslie from air-dried clay, or you could build a hot-stinking wreath from old turkey bones. You might not want to, but you could.

CHRISTMAS MEMES
Meme events always receive the most entries, mostly because everyone already has a stack of memes that they've shared via the forums. You are permitted to share memes you've already posted elsewhere, so long as they are your own work and they reference something from the past few months. If your memes reference anything from Halloween or before, they're unlikely to be picked.
This event accepts memes in any format, be they an image, gif, or video with sound. You should have no problem in coming up with an idea for a meme topic, given that there is always some kind of drama going on in Torn. But we would encourage you to browse the existing submissions before entering, to make sure what you are submitting is 100% fresh and/or dank.
BEST DRESSED PET
Everyone loves the best-dressed pet competition, except when they don't win, then we get really angry messages. The idea of this event is to dress up your pets in an interesting costume, with bonus points awarded for pets we haven't seen before.
That being said, a dog in an amazing costume will obviously win out over a spider in a hat. But whatever you decide to dress your pet in, please make sure that they are having a good time. Don't do anything to your pet that distresses them, because if we see you've glued sequins to a weasel and forced it into a pair of ill-fitting high-heels, we may start to question our sexuality, but you will not win.

CHRISTMAS CARD
This one is for the traditional artists out there, who prefer to paint a lovely picture instead of glueing fake eyelashes on a gerbil. We simply want you to create a Torn-themed Christmas card, either digitally or by hand. You can make the card and design the inside too if you like, but this is not mandatory. All we need is an image which looks like it may appear on a Christmas card.
Those with strong drawing skills are obviously going to do well in this one, but it's important to have a unique idea too. CosmicPunk's entry from 2019 had both, as you can see below.

CHRISTMAS BAKING
This is one of those competitions that most people can enter without doing any extra work. Many of you will be baking or cooking over Christmas, so why not show off your culinary skills by entering your efforts into the Christmas Baking contest?
Tisha's winning entry from 2019 was a simple yet effective set of neatly decorated Christmas biscuits. We've also seen pizza wreaths, gingerbread houses, and a depiction of Christmas Town in cake. You don't have to make your bakes Torn-themed, but we always like it when you do. If you want to sear the Torn logo into your turkey skin who are we to stop you?

MAKE A MAP
Don't forget that the Christmas Town mapmaking competition is still running and will take entries until the 10th of January. The top prize for winning this event is itsZahid's Gold AK-47, which we confiscated from him when he was fedded. If you need any tips on how to make a map, Proxima's guide is a must-read.
DUKE'S PARCEL GIVEAWAY
This isn't a community event, but Duke's Parcel Giveaway will return on the 25th of December. If you're spending Jesus' birthday hiding away from your covid-sceptic uncle in your room, then why not send Duke some money in return for one of his parcels or presents.
As ever, the exact amount of money you must send to Duke is secret, and you must work it out for yourself using Duke's clue below. Send your chosen amount to Duke at any time on the 25th of December, and if it is correct you will receive a random parcel from his stash. You may repeat the process six hours after receiving a parcel. Here is Duke's clue:
"What day is it eh? One day later than usual I guess."
