ENERGY DRINKS
Cans were of the biggest casualties of Christmas Town, with the festive energy drinks doubling their circulation levels, causing prices to drop significantly. X-MASS went from 205,000 to 470,000 circulation, which meant that both of the 30 energy cans fell by about $460k. Rockstar Rudolph circulation went from 229,000 to 511,000, and once more, both 25 energy cans dropped in price by roughly $460k.

Santa Shooters rose in circulation from 227,000 to 508,000 and lost $375k of their initial $1.69 million value as a result. This represents a 22.2% fall for the 20 energy cans, whereas the drop in value for the 30 and 25 energy cans works out at a fall of 12% and 19.7% respectively.
The three new cans were hit much harder. Crocozade's circulation rose from 155,000 to 440,000, Damp Valley from 176,000 to 465,000, and Goose Juice from 188,000 to 476,000. The result was that Crocozade lost $244k of its $1.04 million value (23%), with Damp Valley shedding $181k from $685k (26%), and Goose Juice $91k off its original price of $393k (23%).
"That cans would drop in value was obvious, but it dropped a lot more then I expected. Perhaps more people were walking Christmas Towns with fast loot or less people saved up cash to buy cheap cans this year." - iribuya
So that's how much cans have fallen in price, but when can we expect them to recover? In 2018, energy drinks rocketed back up in value from mid-February, but in 2019 they enjoyed only a modest rise in late-March, and only really began to pick up in mid-May. 2020's trend was different again, as cans continued to fall until early March, before enjoying a gradual revival that only ended in early November.

Pictured: X-Mass (blue), Rockstar Rudolph (pink), and Santa Shooter (green) three-year combined price graph
There are many reasons for these differing trends, with an increased playerbase and ever-changing Torn events but two. What seems clear is that the upwards curve of can prices is flattening over time, so if their annual rise does occur, it may be flatter than usual. ORAN even believes we may see continued recession on cans for a short while yet.
"I honestly think cans might drop a bit further due to hoarders still having a few 100s. I especially feel this via trades where people just pull out numbers I can't imagine even yesterday. I think falling cans prices are good in general since its likely that more will be used and they'll act as a good energy faucet/money sink with the mid-tier players. Hopefully, company changes adjust them reasonably and not a whole negative stonks." - ORAN
The company change to which ORAN referenced is the proposed introduction of the new cans as a job special. Their future value depends heavily on their availability via companies, and we predict that if a forthcoming special does provide the low-tier cans as predicted, this may combine with the recent racket changes to put further pressure on can prices across the board.
"I can already see a small rise in cans, but the market is not certain yet where it wants to go. Last year many people held their goods which caused prices to remain 'stable', this year I feel more people sell right after the event. I'm sure they will go up during Valentine's event. Sidenote: FHG is low in value, and many people have started holding the BB again, meaning more FHC entering the market and pulling down the Can-FHC balance" - iribuya
CANDIES
Anyone looking for 150 happy candies should stock up now, as the combined effect of Duke's Giveaway and Christmas Town means these items are cheaper than ever right now. The 10,000 Bags of Humbugs given out by Duke forced their value down from $478k to below $300k - their lowest consistent price since March.
"Most people just seem to be dumping candies into their bazaars/market, not sure if that's a good or a bad thing, buyers rejoice though." - ORAN
Over 150,000 Pixie Sticks and roughly 50,000 Jawbreakers were also released via Christmas Town, which resulted in their prices dropping from around $320k each to $260k today. Sherbet wasn't given out via CT, but its value was dragged down by the other candies from $316k on December 5th to $276k.

Pictured: Bag of Sherbet one-month price graph
The only 100 happy candies given out at Christmas were Reindeer Droppings and Truffles, with about 300,000 added to their circulations of 330,000 and 785,000 respectively. Their prices have both fallen to around $90k at the time of writing, with the two candies valued at roughly $150k on December 5th. 75 happy Tootsie Rolls also lost about $36k this year due to around 330,000 of these items being found in CT. A similar number of Candy Kisses were also given out, with this 50 happy item falling by $17k in value.
These figures are slightly different from last year, with the 150 happy candies faring slightly better than in 2020, Reindeer Droppings, Truffles, and Candy Kisses slightly worse, and Tootsie Rolls losing nearly the same amount as they did last Christmas. We see no reason to believe that candies will recover much in the coming months, as it tends to late spring before any form of gradual price rise starts to emerge.
"Now is the time to stock up on cheap high-quality candies to try a 99k happy jump during next years diabetes event. Read here what you need. I'm not sure the average prices will go up, because candy is something not generally used by the older Torn population." - iribuya
ALCOHOL
Bottles of Christmas Spirit have now fallen in line with the other 5 nerve alcohols at a price of $1 million each. These items were priced at closer to $1.6 million towards the end of 2020, but Duke's dumping of 10,000 bottles forced their value down to that of Moonshine and Green Stout.
Elsewhere, a doubling of Mistletoe Madness numbers resulted in a price drop of $116k from $436k to $320k - predictably, this has had a knock-on effect of Stinky Swamp Punch, which has dropped from $440k to $340k. Minty Mayhem and Christmas Cocktail circulations also went up by about 300,000 each, with prices for 3 nerve booze falling from $240-250k to $161k as a result. And a similar increase in Kandy Kane availability has dropped 2 nerve booze to a value of about $70k, having previously been valued closer to $90k.

Pictured: Mistletoe Madness one month price graph.
However, as you can see from the graph above, some alcohol items are showing the green shoots of recovery, with savvy players already stocking up for March's booze event.
"I think it's now a good time to stock up for St. Patrick's day, judging from the last few days averages of alcohol they're on a positive trend. The 3 nerve ones might fall further as they usually do but I'm not sure if there's anything stopping 4 / 5 nerve ones from going all the way up." - ORAN
St Patrick's Day takes place midway through March and sees all alcohol effects doubled for 48 hours, with Green Stout also set to spawn in the city. Iribuya believes that while alcohol saw the same price drop as cans over Christmas, alcohol will bounce back quicker in the coming month due to the proximity of St Patrick's Day.
"This is often a great time to join a pub and start an alcohol book. And now is certainly the time to buy that supply of bottles. 792 bottles to use your book to it's max potential (without special reduction in cooldown). My advice to anyone buying; buy up slowly, don't drive the prices up fast. Look at the market price and buy max 3% above that and wait for the players to undercut each other to buy more." - iribuya
XANAX
Reduced player activity since Christmas has seen the value of Xanax fall from $844k on the 25th of December to $834k today - its lowest price since October 2020. The forthcoming Valentine's Day event in mid-February will likely cause a small recovery in late January as players stock up for the event. However, we don't expect any major movements in Xanax for a few months.
The only event we see changing this is when Ranked Warring comes out. In response to Big_Rico's bitter departure post, Chedburn indicated that reviving changes are being discussed as a precursor to Ranked Warring being released sometime in the future. Both of these developments will heavily affect the price of Xanax, so keep an eye on the newspaper and the announcements forum for further news.
"Xanax saw some days where $20k was added to the price. This is caused by fewer people flying to SA. There is still so much circulation of the drug that long term price-hikes are very hard. Xanax will remain the same for a long time unless flying changes are announced or ranked warring comes" - iribuya
VALENTINE'S DAY
Valentine's Day takes place from the 13th to the 15th of February and results in the Love Juice drug becoming active for the one and only time each year. Last year, Love Juice was buffed so that when used it reduced attack & revive energy costs by 15, in addition to increasing Speed by 50% and Dexterity by 25%. When these changes were announced, Love Juice's gradual price-rise was turbocharged.

Pictured: Love Juice one-year price graph
Unfortunately, another effect of this boost was that Torn's servers became overwhelmed by the demand for blood, with Valentine's Day 2020 being the most violent event in Torn City history. This year, the effects of Love Juice have been reduced slightly in an attempt to mitigate this issue. From now on, Love Juice will only provide a reduction of 10 energy when attacking or reviving.
Despite this reduction, we expect Love Juice to be as in-demand as ever over the coming weeks, with prices set to rise imminently. Last year, LJ rose from $13.7 million to $19.5 million between the 7th and 17th of January, and we believe they will do the same this year. Mid Jan is when Love Juice typically tends to peak, before falling off slightly by a couple of million over the following month.
"I doubt this has much effect on the value since it's still very good to stack 1k energy and then use it for a chain / war. Especially with all the people hyping it up, I actually see a price drop happening before the event, but I don't mind being wrong" - iribuya
The value of Love Juice predictably drops massively after Valentine's Day, making this the perfect time to stock up for next year. However, judging by the current price of Love Juice, it appears some people have begun buying up LJ supplies early. Its current price is $16.7 million, which is $3 million higher than it was last year. So could iribuya's prediction of a pre-event price drop come true?
One reason a price drop may be possible is that many revivers are stacked with Love Juice already. Last year, revivers were unaware that they could benefit from Love Juice until the 11th of February. This year, our city's healers are reportedly already prepared, so we may not see the mad rush for stock that we saw in 2020. Based on this and the reduced efficacy of Love Juice, I still expect prices for this drug to rise steadily until early February, but any sharp rises will likely consist of no more than a few million.
DUKE'S GIVEAWAY
The first item Duke gave out via his Christmas giveaway was 10,000 Poison Mistletoes - last year he only gave out 2,500 of them. His generosity caused this item to lose almost half its value, as Mistletoes are now just under $13 million a pop, whereas previously they would've cost you upwards of $26 million.
Duke also handed out 10,000 Christmas Crackers, with several thousand also spawning for random citizens over Christmas Day too. These items were valued between $2-2.5 million throughout the year, but have now fallen to $1.2 million. The only other regular items Duke gave out have already been covered in this report or were in small enough quantities that they had no effect on their valuation.
The big-ticket items this year were the Medical Mask, Chin Diaper Mask, and the Tiger King Mask. Only 2,000 Medical and Chin Diaper masks were given out, with the former valued at $11.7 million and the latter at just $3.7 million. The Tiger King Mask was released in a limited run of 250, and its value is between $240-260 million at present. This makes it the seventh most valuable mask at the time of writing.
All these items are still dropping in value but soon will slowly rise. Don't buy them to make a profit, because there is no certainty." - iribuya

The Donator Pack pawn price hasn't been altered since its most recent amendment in late November when it was reduced to $23,100,000, but DP market prices have nevertheless fallen over the past month. A Donator Pack would've cost you $23.8 million on December 5th, whereas it will cost just $23.3 million today - much of this has dropped off in the past few days. We predict that a pawn drop could be forthcoming if prices remain this low.
"Tell chedburn to change the image on dps or grenade packs, the only reason it's so close to pawn price is because of these scammers... they can sell for almost pawn prices, because idiots buy grenade packs. It has nothing to do with supply and demand" - anon
10,000 Business Class Tickets were found in Christmas Town, shaving $1.7 million from their price. BCTs have now dropped under $5 million for the first time since June 2019. Don't expect much upwards movement until April at the earliest.
FHCs have fallen in line with Energy Drinks as usual. They have dropped from $13.6 million to $13 million this month. We may see a short-lived boost before V-Day, but we expect them to plateau or fall slightly before seeing a prolonged rise from May onwards.
Books of Carols were more than doubled thanks to Christmas Town, and this resulted in over $6 million falling from their price. They currently stand valued at $10 million, but could soon dip beneath that figure for the first time since spring 2018.
Erotic DVDs have lost a further $100k this month as their slump continues - they haven't been this cheap since for nearly three years. We predict a short boost in late January that will give way to a slump. As with FHCs, late May should see their price rise more consistently.
Over 10,000 Lawyer Business Cards were provided by Christmas Town, and while this has cut $100k from their value, their price remains strong due to the crime experience changes made late last year. We think these will remain above or around $600k at least, despite their current fall, and will only return to $650k or $750k as CT stocks are used up.
First Aid Kits have continued to fall in price at the same rate since November, losing another $4k over the festive period. Small First Aid Kits also lost some value, but only $700 from a $9,700 valuation. Morphine has fallen in line with FAKs and lost $4k this month. ORAN feels that meds won't bounce back until Ranked Warring comes out, and believes it's a 60:40 bet if you want to buy them up.
The Blood market looks weak at the moment, with almost every type losing money over the past week. AB- was the only blood to buck this trend, rising from $25k to $40k recently, but losing $7k of this since the 3rd. One or two bloods have shown signs of recovery in recent days, though, with A+, O+, and B- creeping upwards.
Now is probably not the best time to purchase any Cars on your wishlist, given that both the Winter URT and the Weekend Road Trip are imminent. The Winter URT is a Torn-wide racing event whose qualifiers start next Saturday. Weekend Road Trip runs during the URT's final weekend and provides double racing points and skill from the 5th to the 7th of February. Demand for certain cars may be slightly increased before these events begin.
