CaffeineCon 2021 event set to run for 48 hours from 12:00 noon on the 14th of October. Double effects for all energy drinks. Find out how to best use this event with tips from the Torn Community!
The most common symptoms of a heart attack are chest pain, light-headedness, shortness of breath, and pain or discomfort in the jaw, neck, back, arms, or shoulders. In an entirely unrelated matter, CaffeineCon 2021 begins at 12:00 noon on Thursday the 14th of October, during which all Energy Drinks will be twice as effective as usual.

The CaffeineCon event runs until noon on the 16th, and the double energy bonus applies to all cans, from piss-weak Goose Juice through to palpitation-inducing X-Mass. In last year's article, we explained how to maximise the CaffeineCon boost through the use of books, job specials, and faction upgrades. We also provided you with an overview of the best value cans out there, and we've updated that table based on this year's prices.

Crocozade now offers the best value per point, with X-MASS technically the worst at $71,333. Of course, cooldown will have to be taken into account when choosing your Energy Drinks, and that means that the 30 energy cans will be the drink of choice for those who are lucky enough to own them.
This is the one time of year that top-tier cans outperform Feathery Hotel Coupons in terms of value too. An FHC can replenish a Donator's 150 energy fully for a price of $13,666,200 at their current market value, giving us a price per point of $91,108. But are cans all you need to make the most out of this event, or are there other factors involved? To find out, we asked the people of Torn to write in with their tips on how to maximise your gains from CaffeineCon. Here's what they said.
Max Out
According to iribuya's calculations posted in last year's CaffeineCon article, a player with max Voracity, a double energy book, and who works in a 10-star restaurant can gain a maximum of 11,340 energy during CaffeineCon. To achieve this total, they must use 30 energy cans, and max out their cooldown as much as possible. If you know of a larger energy gain capable during CaffeineCon, send us your workings, and we'll send you a prize!
Get Happy
If you want to use your stack of energy to train, you'd be advised to ensure your happy is boosted too, as this increases your base gym gains. Sadly, the use of happiness gaining items such as candy or Erotic DVDs will add to your booster cooldown, and you want to save this for using Energy Drinks. So how can you get around this? Here's how.
Poison Mistletoe
Aaassh suggests that using the Poison Mistletoe item to gain happy at the expense of a friend or happy seller is a good way to achieve extra happy without impacting your booster cooldown. If your friend works in a 10* Adult Novelty store they will receive a 100% bonus to Erotic DVDs, and can therefore use 9 pornos followed by Ecstasy to achieve maximum happiness. You can then take some of this happy for yourself by deploying two mistletoes on them, each of which takes 25% of their happy and applies it to you.
Once you've done this, you must take an ecstasy yourself, as this will double your happy and help you achieve the maximum total of 99,999. Then, having already stacked 1,000 energy ahead of the event, you can spam cans until your booster cooldown is maxed and use the energy to train for maximum effectiveness. Do this within the first 15 minutes of the event before your happy resets, and repeat the whole process in the final 15 minutes of CaffeineCon for one final happy-boosted training session.
Happy Alternatives
There are a few other ways to grab yourself some extra happy without reducing someone else's. Yewnit points out that you can pay people to use their Strippograms on you for a price, and adds that the Evil Ducks Candy Corp dividend of 1,000 happiness is also useful during this event. He added that players should use the 250 E provided by the most recent newsletter for an extra boost, and that you can resend the newsletter to your account by clicking here.
Island Rental
If you're training stats, the base happy of 4,225 provided by a fully upgraded Private Island is extremely useful during CaffeineCon. Players can rent out their islands for a few days to trainers in order to make a bit of extra cash, thus providing players with a cheap alternative to owning a PI outright.
A quick look at the market shows that the cheapest rate for a 3-day stay at a maxed island is around $4.5 million. If you have a PI going spare, why not undercut everyone else and make yourself a few million.
Max The Goose
4n4rchist plans to use large amounts of Goose Juice as a cheaper FHC equivalent during CaffeineCon. If you have the Voracity faction branch maxed out and your faction has chosen the Energy Drink secondary tree, the 48 hours of cooldown and 50% extra effects stack with CaffeineCon to give you 15 Energy per Goose Juice and allow you to drink 48 cans during the event.
This will give you 720 energy for roughly $18.5 million, whereas using 5 FHCs at a cost of $68.5 million would give you 750 energy. For broke newbies with a strong set of faction upgrades, this is a cheap and effective way to use CaffeineCon 2021.
Find Extra Cans
The first CaffeineCon saw tens of thousands of the three new energy drinks given out for free. These days, the only places you'll find large quantities of Goose Juice, Crocozade, and Damp Valley are Halloween payouts or Christmas Town. Smokey123 also recommends looking on the City Map for a few extra, and he also suggests trying your luck in Tiny NPC fights, since he is lootable for cans.
Sell Cans
If you're a stat beast who doesn't need to train, you might consider selling your Energy Drinks at a premium price to those who do. A quick look at the item market graphs shows that can prices may have already peaked, but smaller price rises have been seen in November and December too. If you haven't already sold your cans, either keep them safe for next year or price them high enough to tempt desperate, last-minute customers.
Sell Escapes
If you aren't able to maximise your gym trains using happiness then why not try selling yourself and your extra energy? There are three merits on offer for those who see 50, 250, and 1,000 enemies escape from their attacks, which means escape selling can be a profitable business, netting you several hundred thousand per escape if you get it right. One anonymous player told the Times they like to use the extra energy gained from CaffeineCon for this very purpose.
Beating Up Buymuggers
CashLaundry contacted The Times to tell us that they buymugged a nice chunk of Rockstar Rudolphs and X-MASS over a month ago. Their CaffeineCon plans are to sell the X-MASS and chug the Rudolphs for the gains. I wonder how that's going to work out for them now they're famous.
Trolling
Harambae plans to put the con in Caffeinecon by giving out horseheads as prizes disguised as cans. Toilet Paper, Dog Poop, and Stink Bombs can also be used to reduce someone's happiness, as can the Oil Rig special, Embargo. The only thing better than making progress is ruining someone else's.
tl;dr: CaffeineCon provides double energy from all Energy Drinks from 12:00 on the 14th to 12:00 on the 16th.
