Hospital times set to be reduced by 75% for duration of 48-hour Slash Wednesday event. Reckless behaviour expected and encouraged.
Slash Wednesday is almost upon us, with citizens set to enjoy 48 hours of reduced hospital times beginning this Tuesday!
Slash Wednesday, which runs from 12:00 TCT on the 7th through to the same time on the 9th, sees all hospital times cut by 75% across the board, regardless of what caused you to be there. It doesn't matter whether you've been sliced with a scythe, overdosed on Ketamine, or mauled horribly in the groin by a guard dog, your time in the hospital will be reduced to one-quarter of the usual duration.
In last year's article, we listed a number of ways you can use Slash Wednesday to great benefit, including chaining, slutting, leveling up, and merit hunting. Most of these suggestions are still relevant, but some may not be due to the fact that we've made major changes to the Medical system since Slash Wednesday 2020. Remember? That was in February. FEBRUARY!!!

Before the spring medical update, basic hospitalisations caused by an attack ranged from 180-300 minutes, whereas they now top out at 210 minutes max. These values can change if either the attacker or defender has hospitalisation merits or faction upgrades in play, but these too have been amended since the previous Slash Wednesday event. Before your killing spree begins, you'll need to check your merit levels and faction upgrade tree to determine how long you or your opponent can expect to stay in the hospital.
Another major part of the medical update that will affect Slash Wednesday is the change to the values of medical items. With Medical cooldowns dropped to a base six hours, players can actually get through more medical items within a 24 hour period than ever before. Some med items have seen their hospital reduction times slightly lowered, but since your overall hospitalisation time is dropped by 75% on Slash Wednesday, you'll be able to use lower quality items with lower cooldown to get yourself away from those white screens with ease.
Here is a list of the various ways players can be hospitalised in Torn City, along with their regular hospitalisation times in blue, and their Slash Wednesday times in red.
