Find out which Extremely Rare items Torn's NPCs are posting on the auction house next week as Torn's Christmas Auctions return for another year!
For many people, the holiday season is a time to spread love, kindness, and generosity. For others, the true meaning of Christmas is consumerism, for 'tis the season to spend your dead grandma's money, buy yourself some nice shiny stuff, and rub it in the face of those less fortunate. If that sounds like you, you'll be pleased to know that our Christmas auctions are returning this year, with our NPCs set to auction a number of rare and expensive items beginning this Tuesday.
The headline item up for sale is a Gold Laptop valued at $8 billion TCT. There are only nine of these in existence, making Gold Laptops one of the rarest items in Torn City, so we expect competition to be fierce when it goes up for sale this week. Due to its scarcity, you'll be able to find the Gold Laptop under the Extremely Rare category down at the auction house.

Duke's second item continues the theme of the three wise men, as once he's posted the Gold Laptop, he will then auction off a Donald Trump mask. Are we calling the Don wise? Not at all, but his botched hair transplant does make him look like Frankenstein, and he is frequently incensed, so uhh, Frankincense? Yeah, let's go with that.
The Donald Trump mask was released in 2016, continuing a Torn tradition whereby the year's most-notable person is immortalised in mask form. Much like the Time Person of the Year award, Torn's yearly masks make no comment on the integrity or moral standard of the subject, they merely acknowledge their impact and fame.

Pictured: Other subjects of Torn's yearly mask include Greta Thunberg, Elon Musk, Joe Exotic, Anatoly Dyatov / Paul Ritter from Chernobyl (RIP), and for some reason, a Grinch knockoff called The Gronch - I guess nobody did anything interesting that year.
The Donald Trump '16 mask put up by Duke is marked as Extremely Rare since it is one of only 60 in circulation, making it something of an oddity given that most masks come in batches of 250. The only two Don masks on the market are priced at $5 billion and $6 billion, so we expect this item to reach a similar value once it is put up for auction.
Duke's final item is a WarPaint Kit, an old collectible piece of which there are just 20 in circulation, making it yet another Extremely Rare object. The item's description suggests that these face paints are made from wolf blood, but tests have revealed they also contain dangerously high levels of Myrrchcury.
I am so sorry.

Leslie is also getting in on the action this year with three auctions of his very own. You'll be glad to know that his items aren't themed around the story of the nativity, but two of them do have a Christmas theme. The first item Leslie will sell is the Santa's List '07. This item was one of just 100 given away during Duke's 2017 Christmas Giveaway, thus making it yet another Extremely Rare item. Santa's Lists are currently valued between $900 million to $1.1 billion on the item market.

Next up is a Santa's Elf '09, another collectible from ye olde days of Torne past. There are 402 of these in existence at the time of writing, and that makes Santa's Elf '09 a Very Rare item. You can find these up for sale for about $500 million on the item market at the moment, so we expect this one to go for just under that at roughly $450 million.

The final item provided by Leslie is a pair of Sports Sneakers. This could be the main event of this year's auction as Sports Sneakers are the only useful item being offered up for sale by our NPCs - they increase your speed gains in the gym by 5%. Sports Sneakers are valued at $14 billion and have a circulation of just 49 as of December 2021, and you will find these under the Extremely Rare tab in the auction house.

All of these items were provided to our NPCs by The_Hamster, whose cute little paws retrieved them from the inventories of players who have been permanently banned from Torn City. Over the last three years we've redistributed over $500 billion worth of confiscated items to better deserving players, and if you'd like a sneak peek at what we might auction or give away in future, take a look at The_Hamster's super-ritzy Display Case.
Each of these items will be posted up for auction at some point on Tuesday the 21st of December. The auctions will then be adjusted so that they all end at midnight TCT on the 1st of January, giving you just over 10 days to place your bid and potentially secure yourself some of the rarest items in Torn City history.
tl;dr: NPC auctions begin Tuesday 21st, end on Jan 1st at midnight.
