Find how how high Love Juice and Xanax values will rise, where can prices are heading, where all the pornography has gone, and why temp prices might soon change in this month's Market Report.
VALENTINE'S DAY LOOMS LARGE
The Valentine's Day attacking event returns to bathe our streets with blood next week, with Love Juice once more able to reduce the energy cost of attacking and reviving by 10e. Love Juice can only be acquired by finding it on the City Map during the V-Day event, but if you look at its circulation graph you'll notice an upward curve in numbers that started in mid-January.

This trend was caused by an increase in the number of people checking their City Map for items, which itself was driven by the boost to map spawns provided by Awareness Week. This graph only represents an increase of a hundred bottles, however, so a circulation increase doesn't help us explain the flat price of Love Juice over the past few weeks.

Love Juice began the year at $15.6m and is currently valued at $17.9m, but most of these gains came in the first half of January. The value of Love Juice hasn't risen as sharply as it usually does just before the event, with a slow creep over the entire year noticed instead. What has increased sharply is the number of bottles being offered for sale.

LJ has been consistently priced around $700k above its 2021 value so far, a year when prices hit a high of $19.1m on February 12th 2021. I imagine there is still a couple of million to be added to Love Juice's price before the event begins, but based on recent trends, that's probably about as much as we'll see.

XANAX USAGE UP
Xanax has had an interesting month, with prices dropping to a three-month low of $833k in late January, before rising again in recent days to a more reasonable $837k. Xanax circulation was flattened and actually dropped towards the end of 2021 due to a fall in imports caused by Christmas Town. This trend has now ended, and Xanax circulation is once more on the up, although its rate of increase has slowed over the past two weeks.
This is happening because Xanax usage is on the rise, with the trend we picked up on in our previous report continuing well into February. Between the 1st and 7th of January we noticed an increase of 3,000 in the number of Xanax pills popped. The usual ebbs and flows aside, Xanax usage has continued to rise, with peaks of 30,000 per day now being seen on Fridays.

Xanax usage has risen year on year, but this latest period represents the most consistent and prolonged upturn we've seen in a while. This is likely due to the fact that many factions are now settling into a Ranked Warring routine after its introduction last year, and in turn, this increased usage is helping to keep Xanax prices up despite the recent circulation increase.
As you can see from the drugs used graph, Valentine's Day also causes a Xanax usage spike, with the typical volume of 25k pills per day rising to 27k in 2021. However, last year, this increase was preceded by a reduction in Xanax usage as players saved themselves for the main event. The end result of this was a price rise in Xanax to a high of $843k on February 13th 2021.

Xanax doesn't always respond in this way to Valentine's Day, and in previous years has actually dipped as we approach the event. This is because Love Juice used to be more potent than it is today before its effects were reduced slightly in 2021. I can confirm that there are no plans to change Love Juice's formula this year, so once more, we can expect those taking part to divide their reliance between the two drugs this Valentine's Day.

Those who are expecting a large price rise for Xanax are likely going to end up disappointed. With Xan usage already high, the impact of the traditional Valentine's Day chaining spree could be muted, even though this is the first V-Day after 50k chains were released. But as our anonymous pundit suggested, we might be in for a surprise if a few factions are caught short in the middle of the action.
PORNO DWINDLING
Torn's most prolific masturbators have been left empty-handed as stocks of Erotic DVDs continue to dwindle. Pornography circulation peaked at an all-time high of 1.880m units on the 4th of January, but this figure flopped down to 1.873m units by the end of the month. The result of this is that EDVD prices, which have been growing steadily since November, have risen sharply this January.

So what's the story, literal morning glory? Are people using more Erotic DVDs, or have we simply seen fewer created? The 3-star Adult Novelty store is one source of pornos, with 20 job points needed to purchase one. There are over 1,300 employees in ANs at the time of writing, and we've detected no major drop in this number in recent weeks. I cannot think of any good reason why AN employees would suddenly stop using their job points to buy Erotic DVDs either.
Performance Ribaldry stocks are another source of Erotic DVDs. PRN's per-share price rocketed from $492 in early January to $555 by February 1st, and while this likely resulted in some investors holding onto their shares, it would also have meant that fewer people were able to invest in PRN during the same period.

If the stock price was to blame for Erotic DVD's lowered circulation, we might see an increase coming soon after speculative investors bought the February 5th dip. Yarrow contacted The Times to offer an alternative explanation for Erotic DVD prices rising. They believe that the introduction of Happy Jump Insurance by Gat has encouraged more players to try this method of stat-gaining, part of which involves the use of an E-DVD.
Gat's service protects players from overdosing during the event by asking customers to send him a Xanax before they take their Ecstasy. If the jumper overdoses, Gat sends the player a parcel containing 5 E-DVDs, 4 Xanax, and 1 Ecstasy. If the player successfully completes a happy jump without overdosing, Gat keeps the Xanax.
"I believe this is eliminating the fear of happy jumping and is allowing noobs to conduct them more often. However, I talked to Gat earlier this month and he worries about the increasing price. He told me that he has started losing money because the value of the replacement kit is outbalancing the meager profit he makes fron the 2.5% overdose chance." - Yarrow
Yarrow believes that the price of Erotic DVDs will steadily increase throughout the month due to the continued availability of Gat's insurance service. However, he feels that prices will decrease if Gat's business model cannot cope with the existing value, and he is forced to temporarily shut down.

ENERGY DRINKS SETTLE
Our previous Market Report suggested that the price of Energy Drinks might rise earlier than usual this year, due to the combined effects of increased demand and lower-than-usual Christmas Town payouts. In the immediate aftermath of our report, this did indeed happen, with some cans gaining $20-40k by the 9th.
But this brief increase soon gave way to a decline in the price of some cans, although most energy drinks are still in a better position than they were at the start of the year. Red Cow saw the lowest gain overall, adding just 0.46% to its price between January 1st and today. Indeed, all of the 25 and 30e cans have struggled, gaining no more than 2% during 2022.

The three new cans have enjoyed the highest price rises, with Goose Juice, Damp Valley, and Crocozade all gaining between 5.8% and 10.25% of value. The latter two are priced much higher than they were at this time last year, so we could be in for record prices in 2022. All three of the new cans likely won't lose much value until October, since the only times you'll see 5-15e cans rise in circulation are Halloween and Christmas Town.
Every other can is balanced in terms of circulation, with one can rising throughout the year, and the other dropping until Christmas Town. Here's what the circulation for the two 25e cans looks like over a year.

We and many others predicted that this year cans would grow faster than normal, but since most cans are now priced way higher than they were in 2021, there might not be much room for additional growth this spring.

ENHANCERS DROP
Crime used to pay in Torn City, but it's starting to become an expensive business due to a dropoff in the number of Crime Enhancers entering circulation.
"For some reason the enhancer of arson got this month a +20 M value, really surprised me." - Sinnombre42
Crime Enhancers used to be given out as subscriber rewards, but they were replaced by Clothing Caches back in October 2020. Since then, the number of enhancers entering the market has been reduced slightly, but no enhancer has been more affected by this change than the Wind Proof Lighter.

WLPs have seen the greatest rise in price out of any enhancer, as since their circulation increase was more than halved back in 2020, their value has sprung up from $30 million to $93 million. It's a different story for the other enhancers, mind, with Balaclavas losing $130k, Mountain Bikes $60k, and many other enhancers also falling in price since the year began.

Gas Cans are required for the Arson crime, and so are not classed as an enhancer. Nevertheless, we would include them in the list of crime-related items as they also appear to be dropping in price along with enhancers. Only Wireless Dongles and Chloroform have risen in price since the year began, so Lightor's advice is sound. If new players are planning on using the St Patrick's Day nerve boost event to commit a few crimes, they should be buying their equipment now.
BOOZE BARGAINS
The St Patrick's Day double nerve event is just over a month away, and that means we have just a few days of normal booze prices before things start to go haywire. Late February is when alcohol starts being marked up, with 5 nerve booze predicted to rise by between 25-50% a bottle, 4 and 3 nerve booze by 12-25%, and everything below that seeing a single-digit price rise at best.

The peak price for booze around St Patrick's Day has fallen for the past three years of the event, so we're not expecting any fireworks this year. Five nerve booze usually falls to $1m or below soon after the event too, with Green Stout dipping slightly under that due to the huge volume of the drink given away on the City Map.
The good news for the city's drinkers is that beer prices are finally becoming a little more sensible, with the influence of market manipulation starting to wane among the 1 nerve alcohol items.
"Earlier, I used to buy a couple of thousands of beers for around $4,200 and easily sell them in my bazaar for about $5,000. But the prices of cheap alcohol like beer, tequila and champagne have fallen sharply in the past week and are now selling for around 3.8k." - ASITAR
TEMPORARY WEAPONS RISE TEMPORARILY
The increase in warring we've seen in the new year has led to a rise in the price of many temporary items, but rather appropriately, some of these gains were themselves temporary in nature. Concussion Grenades hit a high of $6.18m in late January, but they've now plummeted to just $3.8 million each. Nail Bombs also experienced a rise, growing to $4.15m by mid-January, before losing almost half that by falling to $2.3m today.

When TheMafia sent in this tip they were correct, but lower value temps have also lost the gains they acquired early in the month. Sand, Smokes, Tear Gas, Flash Grenades, Stick Grenades, and Pepper Spray have all dropped in price lately, with HEGs and Trout the only ones we've noticed gaining much value.
The Injectable temps have also lost a small amount of value or stayed steady, but this could be about to change if rumours regarding the Strip Clubs are to be believed. The long-awaited buff to Strip Clubs is said to be imminent, and the Torn City Times has heard whisperings that one of the new specials could be related to injectable items.

MISCELLANEOUS
Vicodin's Christmas party is well and truly over, as having risen to a high of $4k in early December, this drug was down to $3.5k by Jan 1st and is now valued at just $2k.
Cannabis should start growing in the next few weeks ahead of April's 420 event. Currently priced at $6.7k, weed is expected to gain $1k over the next month, before rising to around $10k as April approaches.
Shrooms have dropped to $8.3k, and although they have risen a little lately, they still haven't been as continuously cheap as this since 2017.
LSD is also at a historic low price, having fallen from $53k on Jan 9th to $47k today. Ketamine has lost a similar amount this month, dropping from $52k to $48k.
Ecstasy enjoyed a nice little bump in early Jan, adding $6k to its value between the 5th and 11th. Most of these gains have now gone.
Many have predicted that top-level Armalites would fall in price due to the introduction of Advanced Weapons and Armors. This seems to be happening already, as we've noticed the very best Armas are now priced closer to $500m compared to the $600m the used to go for.

The increase in warring we've seen in the new year has led to a rise in the price of many temporary items, but rather appropriately, some of these gains were themselves temporary in nature. Concussion Grenades hit a high of $6.18m in late January, but they've now plummeted to just $3.8 million each. Nail Bombs also experienced a rise, growing to $4.15m by mid-January, before losing almost half that by falling to $2.3m today.

When TheMafia sent in this tip they were correct, but lower value temps have also lost the gains they acquired early in the month. Sand, Smokes, Tear Gas, Flash Grenades, Stick Grenades, and Pepper Spray have all dropped in price lately, with HEGs and Trout the only ones we've noticed gaining much value.
The Injectable temps have also lost a small amount of value or stayed steady, but this could be about to change if rumours regarding the Strip Clubs are to be believed. The long-awaited buff to Strip Clubs is said to be imminent, and the Torn City Times has heard whisperings that one of the new specials could be related to injectable items.

MISCELLANEOUS
Vicodin's Christmas party is well and truly over, as having risen to a high of $4k in early December, this drug was down to $3.5k by Jan 1st and is now valued at just $2k.
Cannabis should start growing in the next few weeks ahead of April's 420 event. Currently priced at $6.7k, weed is expected to gain $1k over the next month, before rising to around $10k as April approaches.
Shrooms have dropped to $8.3k, and although they have risen a little lately, they still haven't been as continuously cheap as this since 2017.
LSD is also at a historic low price, having fallen from $53k on Jan 9th to $47k today. Ketamine has lost a similar amount this month, dropping from $52k to $48k.
Ecstasy enjoyed a nice little bump in early Jan, adding $6k to its value between the 5th and 11th. Most of these gains have now gone.
Many have predicted that top-level Armalites would fall in price due to the introduction of Advanced Weapons and Armors. This seems to be happening already, as we've noticed the very best Armas are now priced closer to $500m compared to the $600m the used to go for.
