Double racing points and skill on offer during 48-hour Road Trip event. URT set for dramatic finale. Weekend Prize Race schedule announced. Unique Stormcast tribute race scheduled for Sunday at 18:00.
Race fans are readying themselves for a packed schedule of high octane action this weekend, with prize races, a double xp and points event, a fresh tournament, the URT finale, and a special tribute to a lost champion all taking place over the coming few days. Whether you're a regular down at the raceway or you're yet to buy your racing license, there are plenty of reasons for you to join us on the track this weekend.
WEEKEND ROAD TRIP
Torn's Weekend Road Trip event provides double the usual Racing Points and Skill from noon February 4th through to noon on the 6th. Racing Points, which can only be earned by driving in Official Events, can be used to purchase parts and modifications for your cars, and your lifetime racing point earnings are also used to determine your progression through the five racing classes.
Racing Skill can be earned in both Official and Custom Events, but more will be awarded when taking part in the former. Also known as RS, a higher Racing Skill will help you to do better in races. However, as many of our URT qualifiers have discovered, a high RS is no guarantee that you'll finish at the head of the pack.

If you're a new driver, then the Weekend Road Trip event is a great time to get started in one of the fastest-growing areas of Torn City. Our URT qualifiers saw over 2,000 unique players take part, and the racing community is about as supportive and generous as you could ever hope to find. URT RALLY FINALE
There are just four races to go in the URT Winter Rally, with eighth seed Cloudjumper leading the chasing pack by just under seven seconds as we head into our thirteenth race at Uptown. Sixth-seed Bronx is currently in second place, with our top seed ToxicMonkeyMZC roughly two seconds behind him in third. The top ten are all separated by just a single minute, with the top 26 all within two minutes.
It's been a really competitive rally this year, with no one driver able to dominate for very long. The lead changed hands race to race early on, until MIA managed to wrest control of the rally at Withdrawal. MIA held onto the lead for four races until the hour-long slog at Parkland saw Bronx finally chase them down. First place was then taken by the_gunners2004 at Industrial, and while they retained the lead throughout Vector and Docks, top spot was then relinquished to Cloudjumper at Meltdown with four races to go.
Our final race of the rally takes place at Stone Park on Sunday, and our next two meetings are at Uptown and Underdog, but many are suggesting that the penultimate race at Sewage will be the one to watch, as this tricky track could see some of our leading names become unstuck. WKT WINTER 2022
If you weren't fortunate enough to qualify for the URT then why not enter the latest edition of the Wreckfest tournament! Wreckfest Winter 2022 is a player-run racing competition setup by Prezze that allows new drivers and veterans to race in separate events in order to give everyone a shot at winning a prize.
This tournament is unique in that it pits drivers 1v1 against each other, with drivers required to set up their own races to compete. Each driver is placed into a group, and will races everyone else within their group to determine who progresses to the knockout stage. The number of signups will determine how many drivers are in each group, and also how many drivers will progress.
There are 88 players signed up for the newbie tournament at the time of writing, with 189 in the main event. Both tournaments begin on February 8th, with registration closing on the 5th at noon. WKT Races take place every two days and the tournament is expected to finish sometime in early March. There are numerous prizes available for those who take part in both the newbie and the main WKT too, not just the winners, so your chances of entering and going home empty-handed are minimal.
At the very least, participation in the Wreckfest will see you add to your friends list, as the nature of the event requires you to interact with new faces outside of your faction and social sphere. In these races, which are free to enter and run roughly every two hours, players are able to win prizes by finishing in one of our special positions. STORMCAST SUPREME
Stormcast is a legend in the Torn Racing scene, and his passing in August of 2021 does nothing to diminish that. One of my earliest interactions with him was back in 2017 when I had the honor of presenting Stormcast with his well-earned Bugatti Veyron after he won the Summer PRC title. We had only just started sponsoring player-run racing tournaments at that time, and in hindsight, it was fitting that Stormcast was the first to benefit.
Stormcast was a regular participant in both the Ultimate Racing Tournament and the many player-run events that were and still are run to this day. As an ardent racing enthusiast and writer of racing guides, he was always supportive of these endeavours, offering both assistance and informed critique to those who ran them. Without passionate racers like Stormcast, I don't believe racing in Torn would be half as big as it is today.
For that reason, I felt it appropriate to pay tribute to our fallen champion at the next URT with a very special (and potentially dangerous) race. At 18:00 TCT on Sunday the 6th, Torn will run its first-ever 1,000 player race, and we'd like to invite all of the racing community, those who knew Stormcast, and everyone else to join us as we lap Stone Park 17 times to celebrate the year he won the PRC.
We honestly have no idea what will happen when we put more than the usual limit of 100 drivers onto the same track, and it's probably unwise to be trying this just four hours before the final URT race at 22:00, but we're going to do it anyway. We'll give away a few random prizes to those who are taking part in the Stormcast Supreme, but we want the main focus of the event to be the remembrance of someone who was a fine racer, and by all accounts an even finer human being.
Because we needed special dev assistance to set it up, the Stormcast Supreme has been posted today with over 80 hours wait time. With 1,000 slots available, there is no need to join this race until the day itself, but please do encourage your friends and factionmates to come along with you on Sunday, as the bizarre spectacle of hundreds of drivers circling the track and pushing through lag will be a fitting tribute to Stormcast.
