Ukraine Crisis Appeal

100 days on, the invasion of Ukraine continues.
The Russian Federation's illegal occupation of Ukrainian territory commenced just over 100 days ago. During that time, the people of Ukraine have fought valiantly against their barbarous invaders, with their resistance helping to slow and in some cases reverse the advancement of Russian forces into their homeland.

As we revealed back in February, some of our development team are among those caught up in this conflict. In this article, we listed a number of charities related to the war, and if you donated to any of these organisations we would like to thank you on behalf of our Ukrainian friends for your generosity. Unfortunately, as the war goes on, further help is needed, and this time we're asking you to support one of our colleagues directly.

Crisis Appeal - Supporting the defense of Ukraine

One of Torn's developers is currently serving on the front lines as part of the 81st Airmobile Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces. Ukraine's government is doing everything it can to supply its army, but the mass mobilisation required to repel Russian aggression has led to shortages affecting basic items such as uniforms and first aid kits.

In response, several members of our development team have established a network to fund and procure essential equipment specifically for the 81st Airmobile Brigade. Thus far, they have already managed to supply a 4-wheel drive pickup and a quadcopter, with their current efforts focused on the acquisition of thermal and night-vision monoculars.

Both a bank account and a Paypal account have been opened to handle international donations to this fund, and Chedburn has launched a new crisis appeal to ask for further contributions from the Torn community. Your donations will have a direct impact on the safety and well-being of our colleague and his fellow soldiers in the 81st Airmobile Brigade, and a ledger will be kept of all donations and purchases to allow the Torn community to see exactly how your money has helped.

This fund has not been set up by any official organisation, it was founded by a group of people wanting to do the best they can to aid their friends and compatriots who are fighting for their freedom. All of the money raised will be used to import essential products requested by the soldiers of the 81st into Ukraine, which will then be handed over directly to them for use on the front line.

Torn is continuing to support the Ukrainian people with its own regular donations, but if you can spare anything to assist in this ongoing fight against unwarranted oppression and tyranny, you can do so using the information below:

We realise that the global economic situation means times are harder for many, but this conflict has been a major contributor to the current financial uncertainty experienced throughout the world. Any contribution you can make, however small, can help end this war to the benefit of everyone. Most importantly, your donations will help ensure that our colleague on the front line returns home safely to his family.

Slava Ukraini!
