The past two weeks have been rather eventful in Torn City, as we've seen the 4/20 weekend come and go, the Easter Egg hunt conclude, and the introduction of several new items which can be looted from Duke. All of these events have had an impact on the item market, as have many other things which may have gone unnoticed. Egg Hunt Draws Record Crowd

sugarvalves [1963573] — Read on to discover the record breaking totals behind this year's Easter Egg Competition, and check out the winning entries from our three Easter Community Events. 2019's Easter Egg Competition has well and truly laid down the marker when it comes to Torn contests, after a record-breaking 31,872 people took part in this latest installation of the egg collecting event. As predicted by the ever-accurate Torn City Times, our city's swollen population has greatly increased participation in official Torn events of late, and the easter egg hunt was no exception, beating our 2018 player total of 25,698 by a massive 6,174 people. The expansion of Torn's population immediately raises questions regarding the entrance limitations of other major events such as the Ultimate Racing Tournament and Elimination. Updates, Changes, and Additions - Released new NPC looting system Torn's NPCs can now be attacked and looted, with this system building on the Christmas tradition where players band together to take on Scrooge in the hopes of obtaining his Snow Cannon or clothing. NPCs such as Duke (and others, coming ~soon~) may now be attacked and looted all year round. Making a single action in a successful group attack will enter you into a lottery in which you have the chance to loot special items such as Nail Bombs (temporary) or Pinstripe S...

First, the information you've all been waiting for. Egg is derived from egge , a mid-14th Century word most likely pronounced in a northern English dialect. It fought off competition from the Middle English words eye or eai , which were taken from the Old English æg . Before this we had the Old Norse word egg , which in turn evolved from the Proto-Germanic ajja . Duke Brutalised in Shocking Attack

sugarvalves [1963573] — Items of value stolen from loan shark in vicious daylight robbery. New nudes of Duke reportedly available on 4chan. Dangerous foreign weapons among items looted. Torn City loan shark Shirley Prima Dante Calabrese, aka The Duke, was attacked today by a gang of vicious thugs, with the rotund mafioso robbed of several items of clothing during the horrific assault. The attack, which took place at 14:16 TCT, reportedly involved a large number of assailants , with Megalomaniacal, HARDY, Bats, Riot, razzaonpc and imSkyler identified by eyewitnesses as those who looted items from the victim. How To Get Your Comic Published

sugarvalves [1963573] — In the wake of forthcoming changes to the comic submission system, find out what it takes to get a comic published in the Torn City Times - and receive a brand new reward! Following a thread by Panopticism on the inconsistency of the rules applied to comic submissions , the Torn City Times is making a few tweaks to the guidelines to make it clearer which comics we are willing to accept. These changes will soon be reflected in the rules displayed on the comic submission page. But in the meantime, let's explain what we're doing differently, what you need to do to get a comic published, and why we posted several s****y ones in the first place. In an attempt to make up for a shortfall in submissions, we have previously published some comics which used memes or simple content. This will no longer be the case. Updates, Changes and Additions - Added "Sold daily" table column to the "Stock" tab of the Company page. Next to "In Stock" a column detailing how much of each stock type is sold every day has been added, to assist directors with ordering the correct amount of stock. Cannabis Day Boost In Effect

sugarvalves [1963573] — Nerve boost in effect over two days due to increased potency of marijuana. Productivity predicted to drop 400%. Miley Cyrus banned from city. Overdoses expected. Torn City is set to slump into a drug-induced stupour this weekend thanks to a bizarre auditory phenomenon which experts say will cause Cannabis to become three times as effective as usual. It is predicted that this unforeseen event will last for approximately 48 hours, and citizens have been advised to stock up on essential supplies such as nachos, hot pockets and those weird spicy peanuts in anticipation of a widespread shortage. Bones [917218] — Following the announcement of Torn's 500th award, one of our city's most decorated players explains what it takes to make the hall of fame, and which awards have eluded some of the top players so far. Alan Alda said " Awards can give you a tremendous amount of encouragement to keep getting better, no matter how young or old you are. " This is true of life in Torn City too. Whether you're five or five-thousand days old, it's never too late to set goals and begin the hard work needed to achieve them. From the moment I joined Torn I was intrigued by all the different medals you could get. Even as a noob it was pretty easy to start racking them up just by playing as normal. Then honors were introduced, and even more awards became available, with everything from trashing items and making hits through to getting married and winning competitions all rewarded with a shiny new medal or honor bar .
