Elimination News: Alliances Broken

sugarvalves [1963573] — Necromancers, Chocolate Pain Eliminated. Spartans rise from the dead. Secret alliances revealed. Nasty Surprise turn toxic. DUDE to receive reward for 1,000 attacks. Two more teams have fallen by the wayside in recent days, with Necromancers and Chocolate Pain both Eliminated from the competition. But that is far from the only drama we've witnessed of late, with secret alliances being formed, teams coming back from the dead, DUDE making a sterling effort and fake news rearing its ugly head once more. Here is our rundown of the happenings in Elimination . NECROMANCERS FAIL TO SUMMON WINNING SPIRIT Necromancers became the third team to be Eliminated in the small hours of Tuesday morning, with their final life extinguished after a bloody battle with Team Cupcake which began at breakfast the previous day - if you eat breakfast at 9 am, I guess. Pictured: It's been a neck-and-NECRO race, but they finally got necked - A quote from Parallel. The Necroman...

Dear Aunty Torn

sugarvalves [1963573] — How much should you pay employees? What happens when a stalker finds you in real life? And why must expensive things be so expensive? Aunty Torn answers all in this most musty of mental musings Hello dearies. I hope you're all well. Aunty Torn has been moisturising her neck incessantly since you last met. It's important to treat yourself well in these troubling times. The world can be quite distressing, as is evidenced by our first letter, which comes from a poor chap whose Torn cyberstalker has only gone and bloody-well discovered their real-life information. Iribuya told Aunty that things first turned sour when a former trading partner and factionmate discovered that, contrary to his profile gender, he wasn't actually female - le gasp. This player was always a little strange, but things kicked up a notch when his stalker sent him threatening messages containing his full, real-life name. This was followed by a message referencing the name of his...

Elimination in fix scandal

sugarvalves [1963573] — Five teams reportedly in alliance and willing to fix top five places. Nasty Surprise and Spartans eliminated. Chat bots and scripting allegations made. Cupcake coup imminent. After a wretchedly poor start to Elimination, both Spartans and Nasty Surprise have finally figured out how to stop losing lives. Much like a man who rips out his own eyes because he can't stop crying, the two worst teams in the competition managed to end their run of poor form by simply running out of lives to lose. What a clever plan. Why didn't they think of it before? But now that we've lost the deadest of dead wood, what else is going on within the ranks of the ten remaining teams? Which side has a series of chatbots infesting the discord servers of their enemies and allies? Who has a script which enables them to harvest information from their rivals? And is there really a five-team alliance attempting to fix the whole competition behind the scenes? Let's find out. T...

Elimination Drama and Gossip

sugarvalves [1963573] — Mutinies cause Team Cupcake to crumble. Necromancers lose their magic touch. Nasty Surprise turn surprisingly nasty. Hopes of a drama-free Elimination competition were soundly quashed last night, as several members of the Nasty Surprise team elected to blame this very paper for its consistently poor showing, amid further rumours of severe discontent within the ranks of their leaders. It was the Spartans who suffered the first life loss of the competition when the Elimination period opened at 17:00 TCT. One hour later, the Necromancers spent a frantic final few minutes trading places with Nasty Surprise, only for the mailbombers to finish last by the width of an envelope. Nasty also likely lost another life at the 7pm cut-off point too - I cannot be sure, for I was far from the battlefield at Chingford Morrisons. Upon my return at 8pm, I saw Spartans engaged in a furious battle with Nasty Surprise and Snowflakes to avoid another life loss. Yet again, the fight...

How To Start Your Own Faction

Satan [612696] — WALL_St shares his personal insights on starting your own faction and building it to a position of strength over just one year. Future leaders of Torn, take note. Starting up your own faction is the most difficult thing you can do in Torn. But if you get it right, it can also be the most rewarding.  Power, fame and fortune are just some of the reasons you may want to run your own faction, with many players seeing it as an escape route from poor leadership and unnecessary drama.  I started my faction, We Are Rising , approximately one year ago, after being asked by my previous faction to take over as leader and donate cash without being able to fully decide our direction. I declined the offer and went it alone. Whatever your reasons, it is wise to purchase an existing faction rather than establishing your own.  If you start a 5k respect faction like I did at first you will literally have nothing - you won't have weapons, armor or perks available, and pr...
