Weekly Patch Notes 29/01/2019

Stewie [1494547] — Let's look through all the changes and fixes which have been made throughout the week as listed in Tuesday's Patch list, and what they mean for you. NB: Before we begin, Chedburn would like to point out that the errors and updates noted in this article are worked on by a team of developers. Where a developer is individually mentioned, this may indicate they have merely posted or tested the change, not that they were solely responsible for it. Updates, Changes, and Additions - Enabled medical item usage while in jail and hospital at the same time Valandes reported over in this thread that even though they had been arrested, and were in jail, they were also in the Hospital, but couldn't use medical items. After some discussion, it was decided that allowing medical item usage while in jail and also in the hospital was the best option. Chedburn made this change. - Added 'Reason' field for Bounties After reaching the required 100 up-votes on their...

URT Phase One Complete

sugarvalves [1963573] — What's happening in the URT? Who is in pole position to snag themselves a Bugatti? And why did everyone except Stormcast crash in race three? This time last week the qualifiers for the Ultimate Racing Tournament came to a rich creamy end, with these races proving to be some of the most popular fasty fasty car times ever run in Torn City. As such, they were vastly oversubscribed, with some racers struggling to make it into more than a couple of the qualifiers. Among the big names who failed to qualify were race organisers Stormcast and Destroys, with the former missing out by an agonising 33 one-hundredths of a second in Saturday's fourth qualifier at Mudpit. In fact, of the five race organisers who took part, Rogue was the only one who made it through. Garfthegreat and Caladan were the other two stewards involved, and the Torn City Times wishes to take a moment to commend all five players for their dedication and hard work during the qualifying weeken...

unown [2166500] — How do you become a reviver, how much money can you earn, and who should you apply to once you're qualified? Unown explores what it takes to become one of Torn City's hardworking hero healers. With faction war and nuclear attacks now enabled in Torn, the financial landscape of our great city is about to change markedly. Some businesses will thrive, others will fail. Some people will prosper, others will fall into disrepute. For in times of conflict, it is those who provide the most necessary and urgent services who stand to benefit from the outbreak of war. None more so than that blessed group of health-minded helpers, the revivers. Pictured: My favorite nurse... Each and every one of Torn's revivers has worked their way through the seven starter positions of the Medical profession, beginning as a Medical Student and ending as a Brain Surgeon. This final role gives players the ability to revive other citizens for 75 energy even after you leave the job. ...

Last week's crossword solution was " Legend of the Green Dragon ". The first person to answer was rogerash . They will receive THREE donator packs. We also have three runner-ups and they were: Biggles , Kedi and Paramount . They will receive a mediocre amount of Donator Packs, which is one each. Congratulations! A Day in the Life of a Helper

Grif [882958] — The specifics of some staff roles are surrounded by mystery and intrigue, but do you really know what they do? And are you cut out to work behind the scenes in Torn City? Surely it can't be so hard. All they have to do is enforce the rules! All staff do is ban people, they are no fun! OMG that's clearly a multi why isn't it banned! These are just some of the statements aimed at Torn staff on a regular basis. Yet despite the abuse and suspicion which comes their way, many people covet staff status due to their dedication to the game - and in some cases, their lust for power. A recent announcement by our Community Manager Bogie indicates that applications for volunteer helpers are now being accepted once more. But what does this role involve? And are you cut out for the job? As a staff member myself, I feel I can offer insight into the role and explain exactly what you can expect if you take the job. There are three main roles for volunteer staff members,...

sugarvalves [1963573] — Week of awareness established to raise awareness of awareness. On Monday the 21st of January Torn City will experience its first ever Awareness Awareness Week, with the aim of this event being to raise awareness of awareness, so that citizens may be more aware of the issues surrounding awareness in future. To mark Awareness Awareness Week, the city will bestow a temporary increase in awareness upon all Torn citizens for the duration of exactly seven days - you know, like that song by Craig David. Pictured: Monday, took her to Torn City on Tuesday, we were finding cans by Wednesday, and on Thursday and Friday and Saturday. We chained on Sunday. A forthcoming article on awareness authored by Gnisis will investigate the efficacy of various awareness boosting tricks and also take a look at how awareness in Torn City has changed thanks to the 2017 update. For those of you who are unaware, awareness is a statistic which determines how aware you are. More specifica...
