Gas Station Specials Improved

sugarvalves [1963573] — Torn's least popular company receives major profit boost to attract investors. Racing perks removed, replaced with three new attack-focused specials. Torn City's Gas Stations received a welcome boost today with the news that their special perks have been boosted in an attempt to attract more people to the industry. Pyromaniacs, in particular, are encouraged to dust off their charred CVs and hand them in, as this company is now even more firestarter friendly than it was before. Pictured: If Keith Flint were still alive, he'd definitely work in a Gas Station. The first thing employees will notice is that the one and three-star specials, Machinist and Discount Parts, have been completely removed. Whereas Gas Station employees could once exchange job points for racing points and enjoy a 75% discount on all car parts, you will now have to take a job at a Mechanic Shop in order to use these specials. Arsonist, the now obsolete five-star special which us...

LordofFire [2411517] — After two months of intense racing, the first ever Justice League Tournament came to an end, and its champion is... naaah, you'll have to read the article to find out. Several months ago I received a simple question from Jairyll: “Lord, do you want to help organize a small tournament with me?” This "small" tournament turned into the biggest player-organized racing tournament in Torn history. Over the course of two months, more than 400 racers competed in 80 races set across nine different groups, with over $2 billion in prizes distributed among the winning racers. This competition resulted in over 1,000 messages being sent out by the three-race organizers, so please, Mr Chedburn, can we have group mails now? You can read all about how the championship unfolded via the official Justice League thread here, where you will also notice some outstanding graphics work provided by Indolent . The tournament ended with an exciting championship week full o...

Local News June

sugarvalves [1963573] — Find out which HoF faction has been cucked by SA, which famous citizen posed nude with a pineapple, which revive faction has fallen apart, and what's going to happen to the Neutrilux 2000. ONE PUNCH ABSORBED BY SA One Punch, the 39th ranked HoF faction in Torn, is to be rebranded as Subversive Alliance 2 according to a faction newsletter leaked to the Torn City Times. One Punch has always been close to SA and has been considered their sister faction for some time now. However, this move is by no means a simple formalising of their alliance, as with the rebrand comes the departure of OP's leader King_David. Miro and Midknight have occupied the hotseat over the past few days, with Mysteria set as the current leader for the time being. This blurry link confirms that the news of the rebrand was released to One Punch's members late last week - it is very blurry, I am sorry. We do not yet know how much, if anything, Subversive Alliance have paid to pu...

Vault Thefts: Why Do They Happen?

xJoKer [2160404] — Find out what recent vault thief Byte had to say about their theft of $6 billion from The Box, as we explore why vault thefts are becoming an ever more common occurrence in Torn City. This time last month the HoF faction The Box was $6,284,427,562 better off than it is today. On the 24th of May, one of their members, Byte, cleaned out their vault and stripped their faction armory of over $2 billion worth of items before high-tailing out of there. A forum post by Deetz of The Box alerted the community to this theft shortly after it happened, and in doing so, he added another name to the list of infamous vault scammers in Torn City history. Byte wasn't the first vault thief, and he won't be the last. Not long before this incident, NSK was robbed of $14 billion by pikachugundam, who later returned the money claiming they'd been hacked. In April, Deimos of Unrelenting left the soon-to-be-deleted faction with a few billion his back pocket too. And just fou...

Torn Stats; Past to the Present

PrincessJulie [11229] — How Torn's most beloved companion came to fruition to steal our hearts. "I mean at this point... not using torn stats hinders your gameplay. He's created a tool that is basically a necessity to be competitive on torn" - Bones "Without Torn Stats, I firmly believe that people wouldn't train as hard as they do." - Vulture "We pretty much use it to it’s fullest capacity. We constantly track member reqs, crimes, competitions and chains with it and require members to join it." - MolonLabe In the seven years since its creation, Torn Stats has become such a trusted and integral companion to the game that it is difficult to believe it hasn’t always been a part of life in the city.
