Torn City Goes Deep And Dark

sugarvalves [1963573] — The world falls into shadow as the Dark Mode beta is released. Expanded and filterable activity log also pushed. Hundreds of data entries available for analysis. Praise Log. Today, Torn City has finally entered the dark age, thanks to the long-awaited release of its new Dark Mode feature. If the blinding light of Torn's regular hue has caused you to suffer from headaches, blurred vision, irritation, and neck spasms, then the introduction of the Dark Mode option means you can no longer hold us legally accountable! Pictured: Hello darkness, my old friend. Goodbye eye pain, you bastard. As you can see from the screenshot above, Dark Mode can be toggled on or off using that circle menu thingy at the top right of the pagemajig. Chedburn's announcement revealed that Dark Mode was small in scope at first but soon grew to become a much larger project, with over 180 pages adjusted, hundreds of images altered, and thousands of something something CSS variables...

Torn's 2021 Racing Calendar

Madbranch [1935018] — Read Madbranch's account of how player-run tournaments became a new trend in racing, and which ones await your participation over the next twelve months. Torn's Racing mechanics have seen only minor additions in recent years, with more popular areas of Torn understandably receiving greater development attention. But the racers don't respond to this with a laundry list of complaints and accusations against the developers; instead, they put their efforts into making the most of what is available. A quick look at the Racing Forums proves that in an instant. Pictured: A number of threads, four of which are about tournaments, and the obligatory Baldr Racing FAQ included. The vast majority of the posts in Racing fall into one of two categories; either someone is posting an interesting question that broadens everyone's knowledge, or they're promoting their new custom racing tournament. Player-run tournaments have grown massively in popularity over...

Heasleys4hemp Wins A Gold AK!

sugarvalves [1963573] — Make a Map competition results finalised after three-month judging process. Five top prizes winners revealed. Judges thoroughly impressed and tired and sick of looking at maps now. Heasleys4hemp has just been announced as the winner of the Make a Map competition . As a result, Heasleys has been awarded the usual ribbons, prizes, points... and a Gold AK-47 worth $25 billion. "I am so absolutely grateful to all of the judges for selecting my map as the winner. Thank you all for your time and I really hope you all enjoyed my map." - Heasleys4hemp Pictured: Shiny shiny go bang bang. Unlike the AK shown above that was taken from the collection of Saddam Hussein, the Gold AK given to Heasleys4hemp was pilfered from the inventory of ItsZahid, a player who was placed in federal jail last year for having imaginary brothers. But Heasleys victory is very much a reality, having been confirmed by a panel of three judges earlier today after nearly three months of...

Torn City Tales: SpeedSkateR

SpeedSkateR [10106] — One of Torn's earliest players tells the story of how it used to be, and what it feels like to return to the city after more than a decade of inactivity. When you come across someone with an ID lower than 2 million, you know they've been here a while - five or so years, give or take. Drop that figure below 1 million, and you're talking more than a decade. And when you delve into six-digit territory, you know you're dealing with a veteran. But these accounts with old ages aren't always what they seem. I'm SpeedSkateR, and my ID of 10106 makes my account more than sixteen years old. But for most of that time, I haven't been active on Torn, with my return to the city in 2020 coming after eleven years of inactivity. Anyone Still Here? I returned to Torn after doing some Spring cleaning. I found a notebook where I had handwritten a faction newsletter. Back in the mid-2000s, my whole Torn existence circled almost entirely around my factio...

All the best, Thotgor Dear Thotgor, That depends on whether you mean genuine love or in-game love. If it's the former, you're probably in the wrong place. Torn isn't a dating site, and it isn't Onlyfans either, as Bling_Bling recently discovered. Quick...

And read our analysis into whether the latest revive changes have really led to more wars. Would you like to read a whole bunch of stories that were interesting, but not so interesting that they deserved their own article? Early Discharge System Modified

sugarvalves [1963573] — Find out what "excessive outside hits" mean in the context of the latest tweaks to the medical system. Torn's Early Discharge system has received a small tweak two weeks after its release , with Chedburn's latest Patch List describing the change as follows: Changed Early Discharge to only become available after the faction has first received excessive outside hits. The definition of "excessive outside hits" is simple. Early Discharge will kick in when the number of outside hits made within the past 24 hours matches or exceeds the number of people in your faction at the time of the attack. The only caveat to this is that factions with fewer than 20 members still have to receive a minimum of 20 outside hits for ED to trigger, regardless of whether you're a 1 man, 10 man, or 19 man faction. For example, if the Wonderful Egg Boys have 40 members, but only 39 outside hits have been made against them within the past 24 hours, Ear...

St Patrick's Day Is Almost Here!

sugarvalves [1963573] — Find out how you can combine faction upgrades, company specials, and books with the St Patrick's Day event to gain the most nerve possible. Hey kids, are you ready to get s**tfaced? Good, because from noon on the 16th of March through to noon on the 18th, all alcohol will provide twice as much nerve as usual. And in addition to this bonus, all citizens have a small chance to receive a free bottle of 5 nerve Green Stout via the City Map during this time! Pictured: Drink this, pinch your nose, and don't ask questions. Until last year it was a Torn City tradition that our region's waterways were dyed green every March to celebrate St Patrick's Day. This dye contains a chemical ingredient known as Citiusebriusetium, a name derived from a Latin phrase meaning "Get Drunk Quicker". The Torn City authorities may not be educated enough to know Latin, but they do possess the ability to slot random words into Google Translate. Citiusebriusetium...
