Trick or Treat begins at noon on Monday the 25th of October. This event is now in the second year of its current format, but many of you still have some questions regarding the event. When can you collect treats? How do you prepare? Will there be more baskets? Have I kept my upgrades? And will anyone finally awaken a horrific creature from its eternal slumber? No, your mother's a heavy sleeper. Don't Be a Basket Case Players who are new to the Trick or Treat event will need to visit Sally's Sweet Shop to purchase a Halloween Basket. On Tuesday an announcement was made that two significant changes had been made to weapon damage. Let's look at what these changes are, how they work, and how they'll come to affect you when you go shooty shooty bang bang. Weapon Damage The first change is pretty simple to explain. All weapons have a Damage rating, and this rating plays a part in determining how effective your attack will be versus your opponent. All of the weapons in Torn City have now had their Damage rating amended to conform to a new standard. Before we tell you what that means, let's see which weapons have been affected the most. Melee weapons appear to be the most affected, with Tasers hit hardest having lost 78.07% of their damage multiplier. Mayne_00 has won the Economist's Comic Prize for September, and in doing so has become the first player to win twice, having taken the top prize in July this year. Mayne's artwork is always impressive, but it was their amusing interpretation of a famous biblical story that impressed us this month. War is Coming to Torn!

Chedburn reveals parameters and tentative schedule for test fights. Last month Chedburn teased one of the most anticipated updates in Torn history when he made a public request for volunteers ahead of the Ranked Warring testing phase. We can now confirm that the first test fight under the new system will take place between Natural Selection II and Destructive Anomaly, with the exact date set to be decided by the factions themselves. What is Ranked Warring? Ranked Warring, which has been disabled since 2017, is a system whereby factions square off against one another in a 1v1 fight. These battles work like a tug of war, with both factions battling to become the first to reach the required score, thus earning themselves unique benefits including items, respect, and an improved faction status.
