Black Friday Winners Revealed!

sugarvalves [1963573] — Read our brief review of the Black Friday event, including how many sellers didn't turn up, who hit the top 10 for unique customers, and how much the NPCs sold! Torn's Black Friday event went ahead without any major hiccups last week, with over two hundred sellers turning up alongside Torn's NPCs to sell off items for just $1 each. Of our 239 registered Black Friday vendors, only 22 failed to meet the requirements we asked in return for a Donator Pack. To receive a DP, sellers simply had to sell at least 20 items with a regular total value of $10m to five unique customers. Some of those who failed the task simply forgot to turn up, whereas others didn't sell enough - one player, Killerworm, decided to use his slot to sell lottery vouchers at a $20m price as part of a lottery scam scheme. Who won Killerworm's lottery? Why Killerworm, of course. But stories like this were few and far between. The vast majority of sellers seemed to revel in ...

Monarch Drama Sours Victory

sugarvalves [1963573] — Read our summary of the drama surrounding Monarch's victory in the west, including Iron Fist's departure from Ride or Die, SA's march east, and how Batman and Realistassasin nearly tore Monarch apart. It seems like a month has passed since Monarch booted Subversive Alliance out of the western part of the city, but it's only been a few days. A lot has happened since then, with SA's move out east hugely overshadowed by a rift at the heart of the Monarch family that almost took down one of Torn's most powerful factions. And it still might. THE CLEANSING OF THE WEST Monarch's dismantling of Subversive Alliance's western empire was impressive, incisive, and utterly comprehensive. But was it conclusive? When our previous article on the war was published, the fight for the west was still very much ongoing. Monarch had dominated the early salvos, but SA and her allies had begun to push back, and it seemed like we may be entering into ...

If you didn't receive a prize and you'd like to know who to hate and who to complain about, here's a quick rundown of who won what and why. TRICK OR TREAT MOVIE This competition asked entrants to shoot and edit a short film based on the act of trick or treating in Torn City. Hogfather took first place in this event thanks to his movie about a knife-wielding skeleton, a piece we thought was well shot, competently edited, and packed with fun references and daft noises. Second place went to Toych for a tense movie that was shot and executed to a high technical standard - on another day, this one could've been the winner. Pictured: Alec Baldwin Toych. Joint third was given to Thtboz and Heasleys4hemp....
