Patch Notes December

sugarvalves [1963573] — Find out what the developers did last month, why they did it, and how it will affect you in this roundup of December's notable Patch Notes. Patch List #221 Ranked Warring After a successful period of testing the Ranked Warring feature was released in early December, with factions now able to wage war against one another to earn ranks, respect, and rewards. Ranked Warring is a 1v1 faction warfare system whereby two sides fight in a tug-of-war style format to earn respect until one side has achieved the required lead over the other. The results of ranked wars are used to assign ranks to the factions involved, and over time, this will lead to a fluid and competitive system whereby factions must compete against others of similar strength and activity levels in order to maintain their ranking. The newspaper article goes into more detail about what is involved in Ranked Warring and how you can take part, as does the Wiki , which will constantly evolve as we m...

November was jam-packed full of events, with faction drama, scheduled boost days, and new feature releases all keeping us busy ahead of the festive period. November's winning comic was provided by tophnox, who takes home the $100 million prize for the first time thanks to a comic that makes fun of how World Diabetes Day works. Here's what our city's economist and the comic prize sponsor Lt_Wolf had to say. "This winner was not the most beautiful comic. But sometimes, you have to choose the funny but ugly duckling. Congrats, tophnox!" - Lt_Wolf Artist: tophnox. Larger Link In addition to tophnox, Lt_Wolf has chosen si...

Xmas Auctions Begin Tuesday!

sugarvalves [1963573] — Find out which Extremely Rare items Torn's NPCs are posting on the auction house next week as Torn's Christmas Auctions return for another year! For many people, the holiday season is a time to spread love, kindness, and generosity. For others, the true meaning of Christmas is consumerism, for 'tis the season to spend your dead grandma's money, buy yourself some nice shiny stuff, and rub it in the face of those less fortunate. If that sounds like you, you'll be pleased to know that our Christmas auctions are returning this year, with our NPCs set to auction a number of rare and expensive items beginning this Tuesday. The headline item up for sale is a Gold Laptop valued at $8 billion TCT. There are only nine of these in existence, making Gold Laptops one of the rarest items in Torn City, so we expect competition to be fierce when it goes up for sale this week. Due to its scarcity, you'll be able to find the Gold Laptop under the Extrem...

WEAPONRY FLASH SALE!!! The big news this week was the release of Ranked Warring and Advanced Caches, both of which have led to some interesting developments in the arms market. So far we've seen 50 factions sign up for Ranked Warring, and that means several thousand players will need weapons and armor over the next few weeks. But if anyone thinks they're going to be able to pick up a few bargains ahead of the anticipated rise in demand they are dead wrong, as one seller noticed people stocking up several months ago. "The arrival of ranked warring was announced on the 24 th of September through the forum. The following month was business as usual, but close to Halloween, the sales started to skyrocket. From the 20 th of Oct since the 20th of Nov, I have sold Weapons and armor for over...
